You remind us that God is Love, and that his love is more power than anything.
This sweet little book is about love pure and simple. How as parents we want our babies to feel safe and loved and to express that in the simplest of ways. This will be a favorite to read to your baby.
A Special Thank you to Lion Hudson and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review.
Wonderful baby by Bob Hartman is a beautiful little book that any parent and small child will love. The illustrations are sweet and colorful. I love that this book is based on psalm 8 and helps me introduce to my small child how God loves them!
This is a very very short book that is made up of a few pages with maybe a couple of sentences.
I am assuming that the aim would be to read it to a baby but they won't really understand the messages given over so I think for me it just misses the mark.
The idea behind the book is good and I liked the message it is trying to get over but it is more aimed at a slightly older child for me.
The illustrations in this child's book are adorable. Your little would enjoy exploring the pages on their or with you by their side. A great gift for a baby shower as well.
After reading this book and seeing how short it was for a digital book I was only guessing that it's physical format would more than likely be a board book. As a result I am surprised for I don't feel there are a lot of board books that come out as arcs for readers.
Anyway the story is again short and sweet to the point so it will make for a very fast read, especially if you have beginning readers picking up the book. One of the concepts repeats itself both at the beginning and also at the end to help emphasize the message that the book is trying to get across about just how wonderful we are in God's eyes.
The description states that the book is suppose to be a slight telling of Psalms 8 but with the exception of a few thoughts I don't really see much similarities. As such it wouldn't make for a good introduction to reading the actual Psalms for parents or other caregivers who may want to use the book itself as a teaching tool.
Although Christian-based the book can be quite adaptable in my opinion with the reader replacing God with whoever they believe in whether they want to use Jesus instead, Allah or any other being of worship that is love to them.
Finally the illustrations are adorable and capture various toddlers all doing adorable things that parents can relate to. As such due to the age of the characters in the book I would most definitely recommend this as a beginning book for toddlers instead of babies and a beautiful read whose message although important would be better off until they grow a bit older to be a sweet lullaby instead.
