Description
“If it’s time to make a bold and courageous shift in your life, Stop Living on Autopilot is the guide you need.”—Marie Forleo, #1 New York Times bestselling author of Everything Is Figureoutable
Take stock of your life: Based on your last 30 days of work (or marriage, or parenting), would your company rehire you? Would your partner immediately recommit to you? Would your children want you to continue to be their parent?
The easy answer is, “Absolutely!” But it's probably not the honest answer. Your life might read like a success story, and your parents and friends might even think you have it all figured out, but you have a secret: You've stopped caring about much of anything. You feel out of place in your own life. You'd rather binge-watch Netflix than think about what's next. You're living on autopilot. You have two choices: Experience a slow self-destruction, or commit to a course correction. The good news is, it's never too late to find your drive again.
Popular speaker and success coach Antonio Neves is here to offer hard-won lessons and remind you that you do have a say—that you can reboot your life and find fulfillment right where you are. You don't have to quit your job or move to Bali to follow your passion. You do, however, need to shift your perspective and commit to living courageously, replacing passivity with boldness.
Stop Living on Autopilot will guide you to confront hard truths about where you are and how you got there, inviting compassion, honesty, and accountability. There's no better time than now to reevaluate your life and lay a stronger foundationfor your next 30 days. Step by step, you can become an active player in your own life and rediscover what makes you great.

I featured the book in my Forbes Leadership column:
2 - Stop Living On Autopilot by Antonio Neves. – to frequently check in with yourself by asking powerful questions
Another approach to successfully navigating a career for the long term can be found in Stop Living On Autopilot by Antonio Neves. Neves is a leadership expert and former journalist and actor. Neves recommends reviewing your results from the last 30 days in the areas you want to work on (whether career, relationships, finances, etc.), as well as making changes with just the next 30 days in mind, at least to start. The frequency with which you would check in on career goals and plan future career steps is helpful given how quickly the market can change.
Neves also offers many self-reflective questions throughout the book that can help you pinpoint the most important areas to focus on. Sample questions include:
1. If your life was a movie, and the movie was halfway over, what would the lead character start doing to turn things around?
2. Was it not meant to be? Or did you give up?
3. Am I living a life where I regularly contribute, or one where I regularly settle?
4. Do the people you spend the most time with make you better? Are you spending time with allies or thieves?
5. What would you like to see happen that would make you feel absolutely amazing in the next thirty days?
I love reading personal growth books and was excited to read "Stop Living on Autopilot" - Something as a working mother and wife is easy to do. Neves' posted a lot of deep questions throughout the book which made me really take a look at my life. I went back to the past and looked at what went right, what went wrong, etc. and learned a lot about how I handled certain things right... and wrong.
This is exactly the book we all need in a year when it's been so easy to switch to autopilot on the most things in our lives so we could go help the air hostess in the back make sure everyone has their peanuts. This book is about living boldly and shifting perspective through living courageously. It contains many sections that I would want to go back to regularly. Enjoyable and understandable read.
