Description

A Wall Street Journal bestseller.

In bestselling author T L Swan’s second hot installment to the Miles High Club series, he’s sexy, rich, and her mortal enemy. Hate never felt so good.

I first met Tristan Miles at a meeting where he was trying to take over my late husband’s company.

He was powerful, arrogant, and infuriatingly gorgeous, and I hated him with every cell in my body. In the shock of the century, he called me three days later and asked me on a date.

I would rather die than date a man like him—though I do have to admit it was good for the ego. Turning him down was the highlight of my year.

Six months later, he was the guest speaker at a conference I attended in France.

Still arrogant and infuriating—but this time, surprisingly charming and witty.

When he looked at me, I got butterflies.

But I can’t go there.

He’s just a player in a hot suit, and I’m just a widow with three unruly sons.

I just need this conference to be over.

Because everybody knows that Tristan Miles always gets what he wants…and what he wants is me.

I have been a fan of this author for a while and I think this is a new favourite! As always I love the writing style, it's so easy to read and I couldn't put the book down. I loved every character in this book, Claire and Tristian are such a good couple even though Claire did frustrate me at times.

I loved the dual perspective and I really did love Tristian's chapters. Tristian is one swoon-worthy man, I loved how much he loved her kids and treated them as his own. Especially with Harry. I also really liked the dyslexia representation in this, it isn't talked about enough in books so I appreciated that. This book had some seriously hilarious moments with Tristian and the kids, I couldn't stop laughing about how they met each other.

I really liked the ending and all of the slightly over the topness of this book and the only reason I didn't give this book five stars because I wanted an epilogue. This author always writes pretty unpredictable romances and I can't get enough of them.

A widowed mother of three rambunctious boys isn't Tristan Miles' typical jam but for Claire Anderson, he's willing to make an exception. They first meet during a not-so-casual lunch meeting when Tristan tried to buy Claire's late husband's company. The meeting was a disaster, what with Claire insulting him and storming out. Clearly she left an impression on him, though, because he called her up three days later to ask her out, earning a firm no. That should have been the end of it but then they end up at the same conference six months later, and well, if it isn't a sign from above..

I loved this novel! I have been reading a lot of romance novels as of late and this one is way up there. It was utterly charming, fun, sexy, and parts of it had me laughing so hard my husband grew alarmed. I really enjoyed the interactions between Tristan and Claire's boys, thinking that was handled with sensitivity, grace, and even some levity. Parts of that dynamic felt very realistic and honest as well. I'll definitely be checking out more of this writer's work. Thanks to Amazon Publishing UK for an advanced reading copy of this novel, scheduled for release on 08/27/2020.

So before I begin I want to state I am not a huge fan of this author. I had tried to read a few of her books before and I hated them, books like Dr Stanton and Mr Spencer. I never made it past a few chapters so maybe I would have loved them had I read more but I just hated the first few chapters I did read. Then last year the author released The Stopover and it sounded so good, so despite how I did not like her books I read it and I fell in love with the Miles family. So when I finished it and I heard there was a second book, The Takeover well I have been waiting for over a year to read that book.

And I adored it. Maybe its even better than the first book was. However be warned you will not be able to stop reading it. I adored Tristan and I loved how in he was with Claire. Claire was annoying at some parts of the story but luckily it does not last long. I also adored her sons, I think it might be why I loved this more than the first book because I did not just love Tristan but I loved her kids too, Fletcher, Harry and Patrick made this book so funny and heartwarming. I seriously will never ever forget the first time Tris meets her sons, I could not stop laughing. I think that was the best first meet cute I have ever read.

This is the story told in dual POV's by Claire and Tristan. Tristan loves to help companies out when they are in trouble and take them over. Claire is a widow and she clings to her husbands memory, his love, his kids and his media company.

The two meet and do not get along and 6 months later they end up in Paris where they start to let their guards down and have a fling. But Tristan wants to continue and Claire feels that they live in different worlds. But Tristan has a hard time letting go and I loved how he fought for Claire even if it meant fighting Claire. He is a fighter and this family realy needed his heart and fight.

An absolutely awesome story and I loved that they only want each other. Aside from the dead husband their are no exes or messy afffairs or exes getting in the way of this story.

I Read an arc copy from Netgallery for review purposes.

TL Swan is one of my favourites… I love reading her books! She is one of those authors that I am hooked with her stories and I can’t put her books down!!
“Takeover” for me it was an exceptional read, I loved it!! Definitely it was exactly what I needed!! It was funny, sweet, beautiful, heartwarming, steamy, sentimental and her writing as usual exceptional!
I absolutely loved the chemistry between Tristan and Claire! I loved Tristan for the way he was treating Fletcher, Harry and Patrick and how much he loved them, like they were his own!!! I loved the fact, that it was written in dual pov! I loved it because it was totally different from everything TL Swan has written until now! So for me is 4.5 🌟 and the reason for not rating it 5🌟 is because I’m missing an epilogue!!!I Great read, totally recommend it!!!!

I liked the premise of this story and I really liked that the female protagonist is a mother of three. Where the book didn't quite make it was in character development. Claire had a relentless defensiveness that was a bit tiresome and Tristan was condescending and overbearing. So, between her trying to show how tough she is and him being stifling in his interactions with her, I was left wishing for more nuance in their personalities. An entertaining quick read, but not a book I would go back to a second time.

Received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Loved Claire and Tristan! Claire is a widow of 5 years with three sons and a media company that is in serious trouble. Tristan is wanting to take it over for his family company, Miles Media. Claire views Tristan as a player and her enemy. Tristan is a fixer and what starts as sex ends with him stepping into Claire’s and her son’s lives! Will Claire let him take over? This was such a great read! All the feels! Tristan will make you swoon! 5 stars

I liked this book, but just that: liked. I didn't hate it or love it, and, though it was a fun read, I don't think I would read it again. I'm sure some people loved it, but this book just didn't do it for me. It seemed to generic.
Other things:
PROs
- The characters were in situations not often written about (i.e. widowed and running a sinking company), which partially makes up for the lack of creativity with the plot line (two people from virtually different worlds are perfect for each other but ,ust overcome their problems in order to be together) which is also severely overused.
- The love interest making an effort with her children. YUSS! We love to see this, so major points to love interest.
- All of the characters were well developed and the characterization was fabulous.
CONs
-Generic plot line.
- I don't think think Tristan's (love interest) point of view was necessary and added much to the story.

I wasn't much of a fan of T.L. Swan until I read The Takeover. What a wonderfully refreshing take on widowhood and starting over. Well written with great characters, The Takeover is not only steamy but sweet and laugh out loud funny. A definite 4.5 star book. Thank you T.L. Swan and #NetGalley

I read the first book in this series and had this second book on my to-read list since finishing that one. I love the details that the author provides and how you are drawn into the characters. Claire Anderson first meets Tristian Miles when he tries to buy her late husband's company that she is currently trying to keep afloat. As the twists and turns of the book, these two end up together and all that comes along with a single, man trying to find his place with a widow and her children. The growth of Tristian throughout the book was welcome and the happy ending is always a plus. Wonderful book and I look forward to reading this author's books in the future.

It is not every day you can have an author put together a book that delivers on many levels. They can either be sweet and family-oriented or down and dirty. They can have Alpha guys demanding or they could have men who have soft spots for kids. Rarely do you get all of the above in one book, especially with an author who is know for the naughty.

This book had all that and a bag of chips.

Wow! This book has absolutely left me speechless. I have loved every book by T. L. Swan so I was not worried this wouldn't be an absolute hit but it far exceeded my expectations. She is just one of those authors that get you hooked within the first few pages. Out of all her books so far I best related to this one also because it featured a mom who was struggling to raise her children in bouts of grief. The chemistry between Tristan Miles *swoon* and Claire is everything and more! The banter was hilarious and Claire's boys were wild but so sweet. I laughed out loud multiple times and boy did I cry as well. I really enjoyed their love story being told from their different points of view. It helped you really understand how each character felt. The only tidbit I didn't enjoy was the sped through epilogue or lack of really. It needed more....dialogue like her usual epilogues. I'm hoping their's a continuation of their story in the upcoming books! Otherwise, it was a fantastic novel and I would definitely recommend it to my Book Club and to any other romance lovers.

It took me some time to get into this book, but once I did I really loved it.
I love books that make me feel and this one was one of them. I laughed, I cried and I couldn't stop reading it.
I loved Tristan so much. He was funny, smart, sometimes arrogant but at the same time so charming. He and Claire were perfect for each other. There was an immediate attraction between them and the chemistry between them was off the charts. I loved how Tristan never gave up on Claire, how they couldn't stay away from each other, how the reasons why they shouldn't be together were realistic, and how they kept fighting for their love and relationship. They were really amazing, but although I loved them I didn’t love them nearly as much as Claire’s kids. Her boys were everything! I loved every single one of them so freaking much. One thing I loved the most was how protective they were of their mother, reading about it warmed my heart and even made me cry. Reading about their relationship with Tristan, especially those scenes when they first met were hilarious, and as they got to know and care for each other so heartwarming, special, and beautiful. I could read ten more books about them and never get tired of them.
This book was funny, interesting, emotional and so beautifully written. I really loved it and I hope we get another book in this series.

2 stars

Okay... I didn't liked this one. I'm completely honest when I say I had problems with this book from the start. The romance was sorta slow paced but then all the sudden became instalove(?) It was a bit odd but I overlooked that because my biggest problem with this book was that... I hated the female lead, Claire was everything I dislike in a character; she was judgy and whiny (for a 38 year old woman!) And annoying and always seemed to think she was better than everyone else. Also she was extremely rude to everyone and worse to Tristan (which I actually liked and enjoyed reading) I could not get her appealing and why would someone like Tristan would even liked her.

WARNING SPOILERS AHEAD....

YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!!

SPOILERS:

The worst part of the book and the one that almost made me DNF was the last few chapters with the whole adoption thing... omg... I wanted to smacked her! When her children had more sense and logic than the mother... I just... it was so frustrating. She ended up hurting not only Tristan but her own kids and that made me disliked her even more.

It's quite a shame because this book had potential.

Well this one took me by complete surprise. I didn't expect it to actually make me laugh out loud or that I would feel the need to finish it in one sitting.

Here's what it's about: Tristan is a businessman, arrogant, rude and playboy. Claire is a widowed mother of three unruly (and hilarious sons). Their story deals with grief, heartache and family. It's surprisingly heart warming as well as bringing the romance.

I haven't actually read the first book in the series, but that situation will soon be rectified. I'm assuming there will be a book three...

Thank you NetGalley for giving me an ARC in exchange for a review.

This books has everything a feel-good romance book needs. Filled with steam, drama, and passion, it is perfect for anyone looking for an easy-to-read romance book.

Claire is struggling to juggle three young boys, her deceased husband's dying company, and grief. When she meets Tristan Miles she hates everything he is trying to do-- buy her husband's legacy out from underneath her while trying to appear the "good guy." But after a weekend at a feel-good conference, she realizes Tristan may not be as evil and arrogant as he first appeared.

This book is filled with passion and romance, but with the struggles of grief and family after the death of a loved one. While some characters were very two-dimensional, overall I loved this book and the story it painted. I loved the relationship Tristan was able to build with Claire's kids and the complexity of a relationship with so many moving parts. Highly recommend to any romance lover!

I have been waiting for this book since I finished The Stopover, the first book in the Miles High Club series. I loved the tension and sexiness of the first book, and I became intrigued by the Miles brothers. Tristan did not disappoint. One would assume that a powerful, rich, womanizing man would be a little more...sharp and cold, but Tristan was anything but--and he stole my heart. I was rooting for him from the beginning. The one I had the most trouble with was "Anderson". I understood that she was a widow, working diligently to keep her husband's company as a legacy for their sons, but she continued to act, live, and love as if the man were still alive. She victimized Tristan over and over, basically trying to fit him into the tiny spot in her heart where her husband's memory didn't already have roots. She wouldn't allow herself or Tristan to be truly happy, and I felt terrible for the man who'd done so much for her, who fell so hard for her, and she still held back--even though she says over and over that she loves Tristan.

Overall, this book was sexy, intelligent, heartbreaking, smile-inducing, and enjoyable. I cannot wait to read Christopher and "Harriet's" book.

Tristan Miles, is basically a walking god! Gorgeous, women want him and Men want to be him. Claire Anderson runs her husband’s company and Tristan wants to buy it. Claire’s husband died five years earlier leaving her with three sons and a now failing company but a chance meeting at a seminar leaves them wanting more!
Oh how I loved this book! Proper laugh out loud moments, hot romance and a few tears welling in the eyes! Next one please! Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for this arc in exchange for my honest review.

TL Swan- Queen Of The Swoon.

I absolutely LOVE TL Swan and her books, she has a way to hook you in from the very first page. And The Takeover did just that, Tristan & Claire’s story captivates you from the get go. I was reading this with a smile on my face, tears in my eyes and a high BP with the holy hotness that is Tristan Miles. This book has it all, laughter, passion, and emotion, all three makes the most perfect love story which is why TL Swan is the best at writing the perfect love story. She brings the swoon, the emotion, the off the charts sex scenes, and the perfect happily ever after, she brings it all.

If I could give this story more than five stars, I would. That’s just how amazing this book is ⭐️

You want to read this book, swear down! 💕💕

** First of all thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for providing me an ARC in exchange for an honest review. **

3.5 stars! This book’s my first read from this author. TL Swan’s definitely not someone you should miss. Her writing was precise and captivating. And I liked her narration style a lot.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Tristan and Claire’s story. It was sweet. Though it started out as insta-lust and became love quickly, the dynamics of their relationship were believable. Their journey wasn’t great, but enjoyable. And the part where I enjoyed a lot was Tristan’s relation with Claire’s kids. The interactions between him and her three sons were the highlight of the book. I just couldn’t stop laughing in those scenes. The way they opposed Tristan and the tactics they used on each other to break and make the relationship were damn funny. I was looking forward to their scenes more than the romance in the book while reading. And after warming up to Tristan, the way they loved him and how he cared for those boys was endearing.

The reason that stopped me from giving a higher rating for this book was Claire’s character. I felt like she was rude and immature for a 38-year-old woman. Especially the way she acted in the last chapters of the book. Her way of thinking made me want to smack some sense into her. At that point, her kids were acting smarter than her. Except for her, all the characters in the story were great. And my other complaint about this book was lack of an epilogue. Is the author planning to continue their story? Let’s see. If you are looking for a sweet story filled with fun and laughter, then this book’s definitely a go-to :)

5 Heart-Throb Stars
Loved this book right from the start. Couldn’t put it down. The author did a wonderful job grabbing your attention at the beginning and not letting it go.
Can’t wait for another book in this series. Wonder which brother she will write about next.
Thanks Netgalley for the arc in exchange for my honest review.

I requested this book because I had read the first book in this series, The Stopover. I had mixed feelings about The Stopover because I felt the characters had a little too much back and forth (does he want me or doesn't he want me, etc.). In the end, the book was good so I decided to give The Takeover a try as well. I did not like The Takeover as much - it was DEFINITELY too much angst - the main couple "broke up" multiple times during a short time period only to get back together and proclaim their undying love for each other. And then brea up the next week just to start it all over again.

This is the story of Triston, the 2nd oldest Miles brother. We were introduced to a charismatic Tristan in the first book and he appeared to be the jovial playboy that everyone liked. In The Takeover, the book begins with Tristan meeting with Anderson Media to discuss a friendly takeover. The owner of Anderson Media did not want to sell - she is the widowed mom of three boys ranging from 9ish to 18. Her husband founded the company and died in a tragic accident five years prior. She feels she will be letting down her dead husband if she sells out.

I'm undecided if I will read books about the other brothers - I guess I will see how I feel when those books are released.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. The opinions stated above are mine without biases.

I loved the Stopover, so I couldn't wait to read The Takeover, loved the sneak peak at the end of the Stopover. How lucky I was to get a copy from NetGalley. I started reading and after their initial meeting, I thought hmmm I don't think I'm going to like this book. She's a bit older than him, she has kids, he's too nice...holy smokes was I wrong. This was hot and laugh..... I didn't laugh out loud, I screamed laughing. I don't think I have laughed so much in a book (love those boys). This book was a joy...simply a joy. It had the romance, hot romance, hot guy but the humor, loved the humor and the heart touching moments. Yup this scored big time!!! Please write the other brother's story please....the art collector Elliot pretty please???

What an amazing story. All the feels. All the emotions. All the love and every single thing we hope for in a romance. Tristan Miles is the Takeover King but when it comes to Claire Anderson he has to work for it. But she doesn’t come alone. The story is good that you won’t want to put it down. Gahhh....it’s so perfect! I cried, I laughed and my heart fell in love with every character.

Highly recommended.

I had never read this author before, but plan to read more of her books. The characters are well developed and the author hooked me into the story on an emotional and comical level. There are some aspects of the story that are not based in real life, but this is a well-formed story. I think it ended too quickly though and was hoping for an Epilogue.

The Takeover is a book I have truly been looking forward to, and I was so excited when I received this arc. This is the second book in The Miles High Club series, and I loved it oh so much more than the first one.

When Claire Anderson rejects Tristan Miles’ offer to buy her failing company, he is intrigued. Not used to being rejected, he asks her out only to be to turned down again. Claire is a widow, who struggles to keep her dead husband’s company afloat and a seminar in Paris is supposed to be give her new inspiration. When Tristan turns out to be one of the speakers she is shocked. Tristan on the other hand is excited to see the fierce woman again, there is just something about her that pulls him in.

Tristan is a little more confident and alpha- male than I thought he was from reading the first book. In that one he acted so sweet and so I was surprised to see his arrogant and playful side shine through here. He is a man who is used to getting what he wants, material things and women. Claire is unlike every other woman he’s ever dated and I enjoyed their unique relationship.

At the beginning I wasn’t sure how to feel about the fact that Claire is a couple years older, a widow and has three kids. Her world is so opposite of Tristan’s that I struggled to see how they could ever work. Once Tristan meets her kids, I completely changed my mind. I love Tristan with all of her three boys, especially with Harry. I am in love with his fatherly side and how his character goes through such growth.

I loved the first third and the last third of the book. There was a part in the middle that seemed dragged out to me. We get a lot of back and forth, Claire pushing Tristan away and him trying to reel her back in. He spends a huge part of the story having to prove himself to her and I didn’t love that. It’s like he wasn’t enough for Claire.

Overall I really liked the book. I am interested to read the next one. If I had to guess I would say that it will probably be about Elliot?!

I received a free advanced copy from the author/ publisher through NetGalley in return for an honest review.

Wow, this book was sooooo good! This is my first by this author and I will definitely read more! I got all the feels while reading this book. It had me in tears and laughing at turns. I could not put it down. The character development and plot just pulls you in and won't let go. I was so sad to finish this book because I did not want to be done, but at the same time I devoured it. It went into my re-read pile, it was that good.

I loved the first book in this series and really looked forward to the second instalment. Both are standalone stories. This one is Claire and Tristan's story. It started off a little dry....Tristan wants Claire's company and she does not want to sell especially to someone like him, she is not a fan. Then circumstances bring them together at an out of town conference and my initial feeling changed and dry became explosive as in Oh MY GOD the chemistry was of the charts and the dialogue was hilarious, I loved both POVs and from then on the story just took off for me. Once they come home and go back to their respective lives, Claire is a single mom to 3 boys, and Tristan is a happily single man, they agree not to see each other. And that works well!!!! NOT!!! Again, fate intervenes and I never thought I would laugh so much but Tristan interactions with her sons are beyond funny,
There were a few moments where I think Tristan may have overstepped and I could understand where Claire was coming from and agree that he was being a bit heavy handed, not sure the story really had to add this conflict.....however it still is a very fun read. I hope the author goes into the future and writes books about those 3 boys.

Usually, the original is better than the sequel, but that's not the case here. Holy cow! The Takeover didn't disappoint. I should have known better than to start reading this at night. It turned into a 4 o'clock morning where I only put the book down because I couldn't see anymore.

I was hooked from the very beginning. The banter was incredibly witty and funny, and even though I wanted to smack both characters a few times, underneath they were just broken people in different ways. Claire was never going to be an easy conquest for Tristan - life had just been too hard with the loss of her husband. I wanted to cry with her when she broke down. I also wanted to hug Tristan and tell him to stick with it every time his intentions were misguided but honest.

The only really big issue I had with this book was the ending. When I finished, I was left with a sour taste at the how the book ended. I thought there was just too much giving in at the end instead of working things out and groveling. However, I took a second to think about the tile - The Takeover. Even though I didn't agree with the end, it made complete sense after that.

I received a free copy of this book via NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Despite loving this author, I was a bit worried about this book, since I was in the minority and struggled with the first book. I need not have worried because this book is what I love about romance.

It started a little slow for me in regards to connecting with the characters but once I did, I was all in. I laughed out loud at the antics of the kids and Tristan. In fact, those kids and their budding relationship with Tristan saved this book, especially a certain scene with Harry that left me with teary eyes. I struggled with the back and forth with Claire, and occasionally with Tristan, but more so with Claire. She gave mixed signals expecting everything to be over but then expecting Tristan to read her mind and know what she was expecting. Towards the end, I understood her fears but it took a while to get there. Tristan had a few moments where I wanted to strangle him but good lord if this guy wasn't swoon-worthy.

Were there parts of the story that weren't plausible? Absolutely. However, this is romantic fiction. I wanted to get lost in a beautiful story and I did. I rooted for these characters, I was viscerally moved, and I found humor. There was something special in this connection, and I was left with a feeling that maybe the Universe and someone else had a hand in bringing these characters together. I even enjoyed seeing Jamison and Emily in this one. I cannot wait to see what is next. I am so glad that I didn't let my frustation from the first book stop me from continuing this series.

The Takeover is an absolutely great read , I have loved all this authors work but this one was exceptional.
Claire a widow of 5 years is desperately trying to keep on top of her late husbands business for her 3 boys to take over when they are adults, unfortunately it is proving to be a tough job, enter Tristan Miles, a CEO of a company that takes over failing businesses, in Claire’s mind he is an arrogant superior hatchet man and she wants nothing to do with his offer.
Fast forward six months and they are both at a conference in Europe where Tristan is one of the top speakers. The spark is there and the growth of their relationship is lovely, with dual POV Which really add to this story.
Back in the states Tristan wants to carry on this relationship but he has to get past her three boys, the humour here is off the charts, laugh out loud moments which I loved.
This book has everything that adds up to a beautiful satisfying read, great characters, love scenes that are off the scale for hotness, humour and a little heartbreak before the finale.
Some reviewers say they found Claire annoying, rubbish she’s a woman who has been through much and is trying her best, others have removed a star in their review because there wasn’t an epilogue, yes I would of loved one but I’ve a feeling we will hopefully here about this couple in the next of this series, two more brothers so I can’t wait for their books!
My thanks to net galley and publisher for the opportunity to review this book honestly.

At first I was a bit put off by Claire's character but after thinking about it I started to like her. A 38 year old widowed mother of three boys trying to make her way in the world, protect them and find herself all at the same time. It's challenging. Then steps in the sexy Tristan Miles. Their relationship is steamy hot and everything Claire needs but has been denying herself. She has so many preconceived of what kind of man he is then has trouble distinguishing between the business man she met and the man she's falling in love with. Overall I enjoyed this book, I would have liked a little bit more character development but it was a quick, easy ready and I'm looking forward to more in the series. I'm just assuming at least two more books are coming, we need to know the other two brothers get their happily ever afters.

4.5 stars
I loved the first book in the series and had to read Tristan's story as well.
It's a very different story from what I was expecting and more so , a very different from what I usually reading but I loved it so much.
For a widow with three teenagers is not easy to redo her life or better say to think about having another relationship again but Tristan won't let her double think anything and he's so there for her in every moment of the way. Their chemistry and moments together are fire like we already expect from the author and the reliable family drama is so well done that had me laughing or heartbreak for Claire, their happily ever after is not easy but it's worth it for the long haul.

This book was an emotional rollercoaster ride. I read the 1st book in the series when it first released so I was really excited to find that the an arc was available on NetGalley. Let me tell you! This story is so much more than simply a love story. It's story about grief, familial relationships, loving a family that may not biologically be yours. The character development was well thought out & you cannot help but love the main characters.

I shed tears sooo many times during this book. I laughed to where I couldn't breathe multiple times! I recommend everyone reading this as you will not be disappointed.

T.L Swan does it again. Easily one of my favorite romance author’s. Her latest does not disappoint.

In “The Takeover” mega business man Tristian meets widow mother of 3 Claire. So say their first meeting went smoothly would be an understatement. Everything changes when the two run into each other again in France, and this time I sparks fly and the chemistry is off the charts. But in all good romance novels nothing can be all butterflies and daisies. Claire is still struggling to come to terms with her husband’s death and moving on, while Tristan is trying to figure out his feelings for Claire by seeing if he could really handle being in a relationship with a woman and her 3 boys.

What happens next is a love story I read through in a day and couldn’t put down. I loved how Claire and Tristian’s relationship started with Claire not able to stand Tristian’s arrogant behavior, to the two unable to keep their hands off each other. By far my favorite parts of this book were where Claire’s boys were involved. I was laughing so hard during those moments I had tears streaming down my face.

T.L Swan is a goddess when it comes to romance and this was one was not only one of my favorites of hers, but one of my favorites of the whole year. I couldn’t recommend this one enough. Pure gold.

Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and T.L Swan for this ARC.

This was my first book by TL Swan and it most definitely wont be the last. I had no idea this was a series and as soon as I finished this book I went and purchased the first one.

This story was such a great read for me. The characters were funny and entertaining and I found myself staying up late into the night to finish this. There were moments where I was laughing so hard and other moments I was tearing up.

I will definitely be recommending this book to all of my friends and I can’t wait to read more by this author. I give this book 5 out of 5 stars. Thank you netgalley and publisher for the advanced read.

Absolutely loved this book. At times it made me laugh, at times it made me cry, but as a whole this book just made me fall in love with Tristan Fucking Miles.

Tristan is bossy, confident, a little disillusioned with life, and according to Claire, a God in bed. But more than anything else. what made me love him is his quest to find THE ONE. He knows he's looking for something special in a partner, but doesn't know exactly what that "special" is. Until he meets Claire Anderson.

Claire is a special person. She's got 3 scary psychotic kids, is a widow, works hard to give her kids the life her husband wants his kids to have, and she's the only person who's told Tristan Miles to get lost.

I gave this book 5 out of 5 stars, it was just such an amazing book.

The first book in "The Miles High Club" series was simply fantastic, so when I saw "The Takeover", I knew I had to read it. The second book is a bit different from the first one in a good way. I loved it so much.

This is a steamy, enemy-to-lover romance with witty characters. I laughed out loud so many times. The author really nailed the characters (and even the cat). Tristan is arrogant and unapologetic when he pursues what he wants, but he is also very funny and sweet. Claire is tortured with grief and struggles to move on. She is also fierce and equally funny. Her kids made me laugh out loud. They all have their own personality and struggles. They also melt my heart.

The banter between the two main characters was definitely worth the read. The chemistry is off-the-charts. I very much enjoyed the fact that the story kept surprising me. It never took the obvious turns and that was very refreshing. Despite being so different, the romance worked and felt genuine. All couples have to compromise on some levels without losing their essence, and I felt that this story conveyed this notion perfectly.

I can’t wait to read the next book in the series. I highly recommend this book. It can be read as a standalone, but you should definitely read Emily and Jameson’s story. I absolutely adored this one too.

I'm not quite sure what I think of this book. I had a bit of trouble getting through the beginning as I did not like our main characters at all. I loved the first book so when this one came by on Netgalley I didn't have to think about it at all, I immediately clicked on it. This one was definitely not as good as the first.

Writing style: There was A LOT of telling instead of showing and the 'he said, she said' was annoying as hell. It did become better as I read on, but I definitely considered putting the book down a couple of times in the beginning.

Characters: Tristan was a bit problematic and throughout the book he felt a bit odd to me. He was a bit possessive and easy to anger. I would dare say it could be a trigger to anyone coming out of an abusive relationship. And Tristan is supposed to be a good guy, a knight in shining armor...
Claire was such a flat character. She's one of the main characters and had no substance to her whatsoever. He emotions didn't make much sense to me.
Claire's kids were so weird... They were problematic as hell. Spoiled brats more like. Claire didn't seem like the kind of mother who would ever tell them they did anything wrong and it showed. The oldest two were absolutely horrible and not in a fun way. I'm still furious at them. Patrick was kinda cute but he's nine so of course he is.

Story: The story itself is adorable and cute and well thought through and pretty much the only reason I am able to give this book 2,5 stars. It would have gotten 1,5 maybe 2 stars if the story hadn't been so great.

I don't hate this book, but I also don't love it. Will I be reading another book in this series if we get one? Yes, absolutely.

My overwhelming thought after finishing The Takeover is I must read more books by T. L Swan, as this was a fantastic story, and I was utterly enthralled throughout.

As not only was it hot, but it was real and at times raw and sad. Yet also extremely amusing and sweet and the characters really got to me. Especially Tristan who falls hard not only for widow Claire, but her three children, Fletcher, Harry and Patrick.

Yet, Tristan soon finds falling for a woman whose widowed and has three kids isn't all plain sailing or anything like he imagined, particularly when they turn out to be nothing like he imagined. And when Claire despite her declarations starts to find it harder and harder to let go of her late husbands memory things become even more difficult. And even though Claire's actions and comments at times frustrated me. I understood where she was coming from and for me it just made the whole story more enjoyable and realistic. Plus, it made me so much happier when fate sneakily intervened and gave Tristan, Claire and her boys the happy ending and second chance they truly deserved.

Would definitely recommend.

I absolutely loved this one. I have been struggling with contemporary romance lately. My mind unable to stay focused. This one had me hooked.

Dual POV and I have to say Tristan’s chapters had me smiling a lot. Claire is a great heroine. Widowed with three boys she’s hanging on by a thread. I enjoyed their banter, the chemistry and the friendship he builds with the sons.

There’s a few heart breaking moments and I have to say I am intrigued to get stories for the other brothers now. Definitely recommend.

I was already a massive fan of T L Swan before reading this book as I have read many of her other books, but after reading this I love her even more!

I just couldn’t put this book down and read it in a day. The story line is gripping and keeps you hooked instantly! This book would make a great film! The characters are all so brilliantly described that you sympathise with them all in their own way. I absolutely loved this book!

I have read this author before and enjoyed the previous book in the series - The stopover. I loved this book I think it was actually better than the first. it has everything I enjoy in a book hate to love, banter, humour, stronger female, hot man.

The sex scenes were really hot and the humour was sharp and had me laughing out loud.

I loved both the Characters of Claire and Tristian. Strong feisty damaged female , her broken boys who were hilarious . Tristian an a++hole with a heart. I loved his interaction with the boys.

Would definitely recommend this to friends , perfect summer read

I received an ARC of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

T. L. Swan is a new to me author, but her name sounded familiar so I checked my Calibre library and realized I had bought the first book of this series, The Stopover, but hadn't read it yet. So I read that one first and gave it a 4.5 stars.

The Takeover is book 2 in The Miles High Club and I feel it can easily be read as a stand alone if you like. The main story line deals with the enemies to lovers story of Tristan Miles and Claire Anderson.

Tristan is a member of the powerful family who own Miles Media, a huge media conglomerate. Claire is a widow with three sons. She's trying to keep afloat the media business her late husband built and it's not going well. Tristan wants to buy her out, which infuriates her—this is her son's legacy, no way she's selling it to this conceited rich boy—and she basically tells him to stick his offer where the sun don't shine.

The story follows the ups and downs of their interactions and eventually their relationship. Tristan's dealings with Claire's children is at times laugh out loud funny, and at others so poignant it brought tears to my eyes.

I thoroughly enjoyed the story and would give it 4.5 stars (at least I would if they'd let us rate on a sliding scale—lol). I honestly would have given it 5 stars except for a few things that led to the -.5 star. but don't want print any spoilers here. I would recommend The Takeover to romance lovers, especially those that have a soft spot for enemies to lovers stories.

Oh my gosh!!! This has been one of the most entertaining books I’ve read in ages!!! I absolutely loved everything about this and I hated to see it end.

I totally related with Claire as I have walked a mile in her shoes. Watching her evolve throughout the story was wonderful and amazing. I loved that she was able to let go when needed despite the struggles she had. She was an independent heroine who was fiercely protective of her children and my heart was completely wrapped up in her and her situation.

Tristan was everything I love in a hero! He was protective with a touch of possessiveness but more than anything I loved that he chased after Claire. He remained true to his character and in the process he gained Claire’s heart.

Together, this couple ran me through a gauntlet of emotions. For the good part of the book I smiled as they connected with humor in situations not usually found in romance. However, I was rolling with laughter as Tristan meets and begins to deal with Claire’s boys. These scenes alone are worth reading this book for. But when the drama picks up and real conflict arises, I found myself sobbing as both of them were dealing with hurt and pain.

This is a lengthier book that I never skimmed or grew bored with. I actually read it in one day and was still hungering for more at the end. The steam level is absolutely off the charts but was never repetitive during the smexy times. I can’t recommend this book enough and I wish I could give it 10 stars as it deserves them all!

I read the prior book (listened to the audiobook too) and it was great so I have wanted to read this book for a while because I had a soft spot for Tristan. This book was even better. There were spots where I laughed out loud and others where I swooned. Tristan is an amazing character- strong, confident and way alpha but in a package that comes across as caring. Claire was fighting past losses and therefore, didn't see a place for Tristan but I love the stories where the man just doesn't give up because he knows that there is something there (again, the swoons.) This is a fantastic, fast moving story and I really didn't want to put it down. I'm so happy that NetGalley gave me the opportunity for an early read but I am looking forward to purchasing the audiobook!

So I will give it two stars out of 5

One hot, erotic, emotional story. Playing hardball one minute then sensitively soft the next.

Instant attraction to a business running widow with children, who are all very testing to know.

The seductive chase continues, with harsh realities and tough decisions, on what starts as a dalliance. Then when emotional feelings become involved, turns into a heartfelt full-blown relationship that needs careful handling when the waters get too choppy.

This author is one he'll of a writer and will have you in an emotional rollercoaster, warm and mushy one minute, laughing out loud, or getting teary the next, while enjoying this story.

With a happy ever after ending to this romantic romp.

The second book in the Miles High Club series and I think Tristan may have surpassed Jameson as my favorite Miles Brother. I don't even want to think about what will happen with the next Miles HIgh book!
Tristan works in acquisitions and we begin the story with him meeting widow Claire Anderson and making a bid to buy her failing company started by her and her dead husband.. Claire is not interested in his offer or in Tristan and makes it quite clear.
Tristan and Claire meet again some time later at a Self-help conference and while Claire continues to be icy towards Tristan, she starts to feel the heat between the two of them.
One night during the conference sets their affair in motion and when the return to the states, things get complicated when she is back home with her three sons. THis is when the story really grabbed me and I found that I couldn't put it down, watching Tristan learn about suburban life and how to handle three boys still reeling from their father's death was funny and touching. His first visit to the house and his reaction to the boys, the dog, the cat and the chaos had me laughing out loud.
Although the way Tristan bonded with each of Claire's sons was touching, his connection with Harrison (Wiz) almost brought me to tears.
As expected, there is some angst to this book as Tristan and Claire decide separately what their future will look like, but as they come together they get the HEA that we are all hoping for.

I had such high hopes for THE TAKEOVER after reading and loving THE STOPOVER last year, but I just wasn't able to connect with this story in the same way that I had with THE STOPOVER. I find TL Swan's writing to be incredibly enjoyable, however, and very readable.

When the couple hooks up at around the 20% mark, I became dubious. What is going to happen for the next 80%? This is my apology for doubting the genius ways of T.L. Swan.

This book is absolutely magical! My absolute favourite part is the interactions with the kiddies. How he builds relationships with them based on what they need. He didn't try too hard to be someone he thought they needed, he was just himself.

I laughed so much at the scenes involving the kiddies. I developed such a soft spot for them all!

This story is beautiful ❤️💕

I literally devoured this book in one go. It wasn't at all what I have expected and I was seriously surprised I loved it that much. The corporate world romance is not for everyone and I haven't read that great one in a long time.

So get yourself buckled up, it's quite a rowdy ride to happiness.

You would have never expected the ruthless businessman to fall in love with a simple widowed woman with three kids.

Their life is anything but easy although when Claire discovers the simplicity of living again after losing her husband she doesn't want to go back to loneliness and sadness. What she hasn't expected was her and her sons to fall in love with Tristan. Their worlds are wide apart yet almost a grip away.

Would Claire be able to accept Tristan's love and still honor her late husband's wishes?

Find out for yourself. It's an absolutely amazing story to fall in love with all characters.

I really enjoyed The Stopover, so I have been looking forward to this book for awhile. It was well-written and I liked the premise of the story, but I REALLY could not stand the heroine, and so it took away from the story. This is likely a case of being a me problem and not a book problem, so I would still recommend this book to others.

The Takeover is about a widow who is trying to keep her deceased husband’s media company running and keep her family of three boys in line. Claire Anderson has her hands full with being a widow and taking care of three boys who are constantly doing something. She has a meeting with Mr Tristan Miles who is wanting to buy her media company to add to his media empire his family owns. She turns him down wanting to keep it for her sons. He asks her on a date after she is so rude to him and she says no. Tristan always gets what he wants so now he’s on mission to get the woman he wants. Claire is burned out and needs a get away but she doesn’t want to go to this self help retreat her assistant insists she goes on. This is a great story that had me laughing so hard that I cried. The kids are comical and so well written and you love them while reading this book. Excellent five star book and I highly recommend it.

I really enjoyed this novel. Tristan’s interactions with Claire’s children was absolutely brilliant. So funny it had me laughing out loud. It was very steamy in places but the story itself was really well written and moved at a really good pace. Quite a few of these type of books are quite short but this one being longer allowed for really good character development. All the characters in the book both adults and children were so well written they came alive for me. I have not read any other books by this author and have already downloaded the 1st book in the series.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for allowing me to read a preview copy.

*sigh* I thought I was in love with Jameson (from The StopOver) but sorry sir - Triston has blown you outta the park!!!!!!

He is seriously swoonworthy, that man made me giggle - yes actual giggles! As well as laugh out loud, he made me swoon, he made me cry...he's just pure perfection in a suit 🥰🥰🥰
Then we have Claire, a widow with 3 children who are most definitely a handful!!! That woman is pure kick-ass, it's not easy for her and there is a lot she struggles with but she keeps on going - a top mum!!

I adored this book and I'm praying we get the rest of the Miles Brothers stories!!!!!

Takes hold of you once you get into it:
It took me awhile to get into this book, but then I was hooked. It is a gripping plot that draws you in and leaves you anxious to determine how it is all going to work out.
In the beginning I found it challenging to connect with Claire and Tristan as they both came off as cold and the writing style didn't lead to a sense of familiarity. However I liked them more as we got to know them and I was able to feel the chemistry and love that they developed. I imagine it was supposed to come off as being funny, yet I was appalled and put off by how her sons behaved in the beginning but I did later develop a soft spot for these rambunctious boys. There is a lot of emotional depth to the story especially related to Claire coming to terms with her late husband's death and as she tries to move on and forge a new path.
One thing I must say is that I hated trying to read the sections that were from Tristan's POV as these were all in bold and it hurt my eyes. It was like he was shouting at you and had me trying to move my reading device away from me to try and get comfortable with it. The sections were labelled with "Tristan" so no other distinction was necessary.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review. All opinions expressed are solely my own.

I am honestly completely floored as I just couldn’t put this book down and now want to read the first book in the series!
Whilst this is my first book by the author I would highly recommend reading it! It is riveting, highly entertaining with sizzling chemistry and witty banter galore. I laughed so hard in parts and also had some tears in others. This is definitely one of my favourite books of 2020!
Claire Anderson is a woman at the end of her tether. She is a widow, has 3 rambunctious boys and runs her late husband’s company. When Tristan Miles tries to buy out her business, needless to say she is determined not to sell to him, of all people. He is charismatic, delicious, flirtatious and goes after what he wants! What does he want? Claire, of course. Lets just say the ride this story gives you is like a roller coaster! There is just so much to love about Tristan and what happens when he meets her family. Yikes, its on for young and old and I had a difficult time controlling my laughter!! The ride they have is rather bumpy but so very worth it!
So incredibly worth reading!!

This has got to be one of my favorite books this year!!! Swan definitely delivered a fun, sexy and rich romance!

Claire meets Tristan at one of her lower moments in life as she is trying to save her late husband’s business.
She is struggling to keep all things afloat especially in her regards to her three boys- single motherhood is tough. She is a business woman and has no time for the dating game. Then walks in Tristan with his sauve ways and money aiming to buy her business out. It really sucks when your enemy also makes your lady bits go crazy!

Claire was refreshing in her perspective in love. There were many times I laughed and genuinely enjoyed the humor. And there were moments I treasured as well as mourned with Claire, her children and Tristan because I fell in love with them as a family unit as well as a couple.

This ARC was provided by Netgalley in exchange for a honest and fair review. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I rate this romance a 5 out of 5 stars! Really a great read to disappear in and enjoy!

The Takeover was a miss for me.

The premise had a great deal of promise, but there were several story issues that were just perplexing at first and then by 70% of the way in were outright obnoxious.

I had my first concerns when Tristan asked Claire if she had "Taken her Bitch Pills", I'm not a prude (honestly the sex scenes in this book were some of the better parts) but calling a woman you are interested in a "bitch" even in jest felt unnecessary and honestly dated in 2020. Also just not what I am looking for in this genre.

I also thought the friction with Harry's character was not well handled. It was a solid idea, but having Tristan call him a psycho, and their interactions in general until discovering the true reason for him acting out were juvenile on Tristan's part and if I were a mother I would be alarmed and not want that man in my child's life. It wasn't until later in the book, that Tristan's attempts to befriend Claire's sons felt more reasonable/realistic.

Additionally Tristan's anger that Claire was still grieving her husband felt so out of touch. Losing someone you've built an entire life with, a company, raised children with is devastating. It only makes sense that entering a relationship with someone in that situation would have lingering trauma.

Also did Claire get married at 18? The ages of her children felt unrealistic.

The lonely widower with children, I am usually fine with but this was just not well executed.

After getting a glimpse into Tristan's personality in THE STOPOVER, I knew I would like him. His interaction with Claire's out of control kids was a little immature in the beginning, but improved quickly. The story had me laughing a lot, tearing up, and a little aggravated a couple times. I'm looking forward to the next Miles High Club. Looks like it might be Elliot's story. :-)

*I received an eARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.*

I was unprepared for the awesomeness that was this novel! Especially since it was the second in a new series by TL Swan. I had meant to read the first novel in the Miles High series "The Stopover" but it had slipped my mind until I saw the second one available on NetGalley to review. I meant to read the other before this one, but when I opened my kindle yesterday, I thought, "why not?" and started reading.

4 hours later I put it down with tears in my eyes and a smile on my lips…

This book was LIFE to me! It is so full of just beautiful people, great writing, deliciously fun sex, and heart-warming family moments.

Monica Anderson is a 38-year old widow who is just trying to keep her late husband's business aloft. When Tristan Miles comes to make an offer for the business, she takes an instant dislike to him. She spurns his condescending tone (imagined) and laughs at him when he asks her out. He is arrogant and unfeeling and she just hates him.

6 months later she goes to a conference on business and he is a speaker there. When he pursues her again, they have a few night stands, which leads to a long weekend in Paris, which leads to a sad goodbye when Monica has to tell Tristan that they can't be anything more than a weekend fling. You see, Monica has 3 boys, and she doesn't think 34 year-old Tristan wants to take on a ready made family.

When Monica's oldest son, Fletcher gets an internship at Tristan's company, the 2 are thrown together again. And Tristan makes it clear that he is NOT done fighting for her. He begins a campaign to takeover her boy's affections and win all 4 of the Anderson's hearts.

Enough of a summary…

Because a summary does not get across how freaking HILARIOUS this book was! I have read almost all of TL Swan's backlist and I LOVE them, but I have never read one that was so funny. I was expecting an angsty romance about a single mother.. This was not that. This was adorable, and funny, and sweet. From the first night that they have sex, Tristan is FUN! That is one of the main things Monica notices about him and keeps her coming back. The way he brings joy to this family while winning them over is amazing.

He has some crazy run ins and pranks played on him by the Anderson boys. Specifically by Harry (who Tristan call "Wiz" because.. Harry Potter!) and watching them go back and forth is just amazing.

Of course, there is still conflict in this book. And it is hard. Because it is real. Monica loved her husband, and she is afraid of her boys forgetting him and loving Tristan more. This irrational, but grief does not follow logic. I felt how Monica spiraled at times, and I wanted to shake her out of it, but I understand her.

Really, I can't over sell this to you. It is easily one of my favorite books of 2020, and I have read hundreds already by this point. It was so beautiful all in all and I just…. You HAVE to read it.

5/5 stars.

I have head of T.L. Swan but unfortunately never read any of her novels and thanks to Netgalley I was able to recently change. It was exactly the kind of novel I needed, there was a great balance between the 'smut' and the actual story line of which I felt fully involved. I actually found myself sympathising more with Tristan than Claire at points. I would love to see a follow up of where their lives go and would absolutely read again, in fact i'm considering buying my own physical copy.

I remember being introduced to Tristan Miles in The Stopover; the first installment in The Miles High Club series. I liked him in that book, and I loved him in this second installment, The Takeover. I'm glad he got his story next!

This book had all the feels, and the characters had good depth. Overall, I really enjoyed it. I wanted to give it 4 stars, but Claire and I had some strong yet opposing views on a few things, and they grated on me, forcing me to lower it to 3. I also thought it felt a little long somewhere in the middle.

I will definitely read more by this author in the future. Thank you to NetGalley for the free ARC in exchange for my honest review.

T L Swan is one of my favorite authors. And The Takeover is a perfect example of why. I have been waiting for Tristan’s story ever since reading The Stopover. This book has all the feels. The banter between Tristan and Claire is hilarious. I was laughing throughout the whole book. Tristan starts out wanting to take over Claire’s failing business that her husband started. She will not have that. A while later they run into each other. And what Claire thinks is just a weekend fling with him slowly starts to turn into more. As the story continues you start to see a different side of Tristan, he is such a good guy. I have read almost all of TL Swan’s books and her writing is amazing. She makes you feel emotionally connected to the characters. And I can never put her books down. If I could give The Takeover more then five stars I would!!

The Takeover by T L Swan was absolute perfection.! Tristan Miles is a business genius and known to he strong in the business world. Claire is a widow trying to keep her dead husband's dreams alive. Tristan wants to buy Claire's company and she hates him for even asking. While taking a break from reality at a seminar, they meet again unexpectedly and the sparks fly.

There is so much detail in this story, I love how the author takes us through their story. This is definitely one of my favourite books. It is a must-read!!

I have read and enjoyed all of T.L. Swans books, but I think this one is my favorite. It was so well written and it is so funny. I laughed out loud several times, like full on laughing my eyes started to tear up. Add in the witty banter, the sexy times and a naturally flowing realistic storyline and you have a 5 star book!

I am in love with Tristan! He's smart, confident, funny, and sexy. When he falls in love, he's in 100%. Claire was great too. She's been widowed for 5 years, has 3 boys and is running the media company her late husband started. She's fiercely independent and in control until Tristan pursues her. I love how she denied the attraction at first and how Tristan was not deterred by it. I'll never forget when he meets her boys for the first time, it was hilarious!

If you are looking for a great love story, look no further. This book gives you a little bit of everything and it is going on my to be read again list.

Not a fan of Claire. Everything seemed to be about her Ex. Didn’t care for that.
Interactions with the boys was great!!
I was really worried about the story until he met the boys for the first time. That was hilarious!!! I had tears in my eyes.

The model storyline was left unfinished. I would have liked to have read what happened with that

The Takeover is the second in the series featuring the Miles Brothers. This book is about Tristan Miles the takeover mogul of Miles Media. Having read this author's previous books and loving them I was looking forward to reading this and I was not disappointed, I had a blast.

Claire is a widow in her late thirties with three rambunctious boys. Her husband Wade died five years ago and she hasn't moved on basically just existing for her family and the failing business. Her first meeting with Tristan who expressed interest in taking over the company didn't go down well. Fast forward to a few months later and they bump into each other, sparks fly and they end up in bed.

The main characters in this romantic tale Claire and Tristan are a perfect match when they finally get their heads sorted out. Tristan is the perfect book boyfriend, he's got all the goods, charming and loyal. Claire is the one with a lot of emotional baggage which is quite understandable. Her three boys and their wild antics made me laugh especially Harry the wizard....tick, tock!

Over all this is one book that you won't be able to put down, I read it all in one sitting. The characters are lovable, engaging and funny you couldn't ask for more. I highly recommend.

This author totally writes my love language. Her stories are a perfect mix of all the feels. The chemistry and angst between the h and H are off the chart! Whew! OMG, I loved this book. For me, her books are pure unadulterated fun! A summer read, that lets me escape my stressful, busy, overworked life.
Its the second book of this series and it’s about Tristian. He is sexy, beautiful, confident and a romantic. It’s a stand-alone and it can totally be read out of order. Which is another thing I love about her books.
I really enjoyed all the side characters and had a big smile on my face when I finished. I highly recommend this book. I hope this was helpful.

I loved this book! It had everything I wanted, a found family! Sismance, Bromance, Cute kids, a take-no-shit female lead, a dirty talker, hard as nails but softer than fluff male lead, HOT scenes. I absolutely loved it.
Read it if the above is your jam, you won't be disappointed :)

Thanks so much to Netgalley for the ARC, I am off to read T.L. Swan's backlog

Quick read Tristan meets Claire when he offers to buy out her husband bussiness. She turns him down flat and he is impressed with her fight and determination to make this business work in his memory. The attraction is there and they can't seem to shake it.Lots of emotions , twist, turns and some humour

I was really looking forward to reading this book. The single mom/hot rich guy trope is one of my favourites and I was excited to see Tristan and Claire fall in love and for Tristan to bond with her three children. Instead this is what I got:

Claire lost her husband in an accident 5 years ago and hasn't been able to move on since then. Instead she spends her time working at husband's company which is currently in financial trouble and soon to go bankrupt. This is where Tristan comes in. He's interested in buying her company which shes unwilling to sell because it was her husband's legacy.

Now Tristan was a real dick and not the kind of guy I saw myself liking as the story progressed. Within the first few pages, he told Claire to 'take a bitch pill' which is not a turn on and isn't funny in the least. Later in the book, he calls one of her kids a psycho which is frankly disturbing and no amount of chemistry between the characters could've convinced me that their relationship was healthy.

Claire's character just seemed contrived to me and nothing about it changed as the story progressed.

Honestly, this book was a disappointment and I think I'm going to steer clear of this author's books in the future.

I don’t remember the last time I laughed out loud this much in a book. I about died when she told him his sexy face was ugly. LOL!!
This book was so dang good. Funny. Heartfelt. Sexy. I laughed a lot. I cried a lot. This is one I’ll definitely recommend to my friends.
Thanks NetGalley for this book!

Fantastic second addition to the Miles family series. T L Swan manages to both needle the thread from The Stopover while ensuring that a new reader could enjoy The Takeover as a standalone. It is difficult to find a book that combines family, sexy scenes, and humor, but this book has all three in spades. Swan also does a masterful job of portraying the different ways grief can impact family members at different times, and doesn't shy away from challenging conversations, making the book that much more realistic. Had a hard time putting this one down - finished it in a day! Swan's best yet.

This has been the most entertaining book I have read in quite some time! T.L. Swan is my new favorite author. This story was heartwarming, sweet, exceptional, steamy, funny… the list goes on and on. I laughed and I cried and couldn’t put it down. I truly loved this story.

The second book in the series had me laughing out loud and wiping away tears. This is a great romance book. If you didn't love/like the first one ...you will with this title. Great characters that are likable make this fun to read.

This second book in the Miles High Club was just as enjoyable as the first one "The Stopover."Tristan buys out failing businesses and turn them around, and in this case the widowed mother of three is in his crosshairs. Claire, now running her late husband's company is struggling to turn a profit and refuses to give in gracefully. She is a strong, outspoken and self-convicted businesswoman who doesn't want to disappoint her family by failing. In her interactions with her children , she is soft, indulgent, caring but fair. Her middle child is fearless and to be feared as he goes head to head with Tristan in a case of one-upmanship. I thoroughly enjoyed the pranks and exchanges between them, indulging in some laugh out loud moments and frequent chuckles. It takes a special person to take on a ready-made family that was faltering and restore them to some semblance of normalcy without even realizing how you are being changed too. This was a wonderful novel with a witty and smooth writing style. Will be reading all her other works.

A struggling businesswoman, widowed, mother of 3 boys, the last thing on her mind was finding love. Not when the love she felt for her late husband was still so fresh it hurt.

A wildly successful and ruthless businessman, a total player, living up the single life and living around the world without any desire for a relationship, children, or 'settling down'.

The synopsis truly does not do this book justice, my favorite parts of this novel take place long past where the synopsis ends. First encounters often set the course for how we perceive one another, whether that was an accurate representation of the person in question or not that memory will stick with you long after they've proved themselves. This is certainly the case for Claire and Tristan. After a brief but memorable encounter, deep-seeded hate is formed on Claire's end and a heavy reserve of lust on Tristan's end. Who could have guessed six months later that a chance encounter would lead to such an explosive outcome or that a weekend of fun could bring on so many emotions?

A single spark can change things. While it may not go smoothly. Hearts slowly begin to heal and grow. Relationships take a great deal of work, all the more when extra hearts are involved. Watching the growth as it happened was so satisfying, the character development was incredible. The relationship between Harry and Tristan is one of my favorite parts of this book. Tick tock.

I had heard so much about the previous book in the series that I had to read this one when I got the opportunity. And though it wasn’t as amazing as I expected, I still enjoyed it a lot. Mostly thanks to Tristan.

Seriously, the man is perfect: rich, handsome and fit–par for the course–but also talented in bed, quite romantic, loyal, dependable, smart, nice… Who wants to take Claire’s place, raise your hand. Even with three difficult boys, a dead husband and a failing business. So though some of the elements in the story felt unrealistic and a bit too much, I just wanted to keep reading about this beautiful human being.

As for Claire, she was quite interesting too. I liked the way she wanted to honor her late husband’s memory, and became antagonistic if its legacy was at stake. It made for an original and dynamic conflict. Because, without that, what could keep them apart?

As it’s often the case, the side characters gave colors to the story–Claire’s kids, her best friend, Tristan’s family, and even the cat and dog. They all bring some humor in a story that, if not angsty, still touch tough subjects, like grief.

Though I’d have been happy with a shorter story with less ups and downs, I still enjoyed it quite a lot. Do they ship Tristans to Europe, though? Asking for a friend.

Another fantastic read by TL Swan.

I personally love when an author take an overdone trope and spins it on its head. In the Takeover, we have a widower and now single parent (our heroine) not the hero for once, dealing with the aftermath of her husbands death and decline of his business. Tristan (our hero) is introduced as the possible purchaser of Claire’s late husbands company. Their initial meeting does not go as planned and it takes six months before this unlikely duo to get to know each other.

I loved that Claire was so strong, independent and determined. As a fellow mom, I found the interactions with her children genuine and believable. Now as a reader, sometimes you want the main character to forget their hangups and just get their HEA. I enjoyed the drama that was thrown in even though it was frustrating at times.

Tristian was intriguing and so steamy to read. I loved how he accepted Claire’s kids almost immediately.

One thing TL succeeds at with her writing, is throwing in some serious hysterical moments. The Takeover, is proof as to why TL Swann is a good to author for me, time and again.

This books has been one of the best stories, I have read in a long time. I devoured this book in a day. I just couldn't put it down, every opportunity to I got, I pick up my kindle and read. I haven't had a book make me switch emotions this quickly in a while.

Claire and Tristan were brilliant from the start of this book. Their banter and chemistry was just great to read. I cried laughing so much. And although the start of this story was great. I don't think it really kicked off until the children appear. Tristan's first encounter with Fletcher, Harry and Patrick was the scene of the book for me. "Skateboardgate" made me laugh so so much. I had tears streaming down my face.

This book was so much more than your typical romance. There wasn't only 2 hearts involved in this there were 5. And this made it that much more special. Now this book isn't all laughs, one-liners and giggles. They deal with a lot of serious and heartbreaking situations. I sobbed reading parts of this book, I just couldn't deal with my emotions. Tristan is a beautiful character. He is a pompous arrogant ass sometimes but as he says he always gets what he wants. Claire is funny, stubborn and she does the best she can with what keeps being thrown at her. She a bold and beautiful woman and mother to her boys.

This book is a total recommend from me. I haven't read this author for over 3 years and I regret that so much. I will be going back and reading all that I have missed.

"That man is the devil and as tempting as sin"
WOW!!! The Takeover by TL Swan was incredible. I could not put this book down once I picked it up (I devoured it in a single sitting). This book takes us on the journey of Tristan Miles and Claire Anderson. Tristan is a wealthy playboy that is used to getting whatever he wants while Claire is a widowed mother of three who is attempting to keep her husband's business (and legacy) afloat. These two spark from the get go as they are introduced while Tristan is attempting to acquire Claire's company. Claire is having none of that and immediately asserts herself as a strong and independent heroine. There are definitely hate vibes (at least on her side) from the beginning and thus Tristan begins his mission to win her over. These two definitely have obstacles to overcome especially as it comes to her three boys. I fell in love with Tristan as Claire did and thoroughly enjoyed his quest to win over the boys (Fletcher, Harry and Patrick were an absolute delight). And the chemistry between the two of them was off the charts!! This book gave me romance, a bit of tears and a touch of comedy and I loved every moment!! This book gave me all the feels and it is an absolute FIVE Star read from TL Swan!

4.25 stars

I am absolutely loving this Miles High Club series! The Takeover was un and sexy, hilarious at times, enemies-to-lovers with a little sad mixed in, and oy my salty heart!

Where I LOVED The Stopover with Jamison Miles' multiple personalities and his domineering ways. I LOVE The Takeover in so many different but equal ways.

Tristan Miles is the quintessential swoon-worthy millionaire (billionaire?) playboy. He first meets Claire when he is making an offer to buy out her late-husband media company. Claire was widowed 5 years ago quite suddenly and her life's mission has become keeping her husband's memory and company alive. After giving Tristan a solid piece of her mind and leaving, she has to face him again at a seminar in Paris that she is taking as a last-ditch effort to try to keep her business afloat. Tristan is a surprise guest speaker. How embarrassing. As Tristan and Claire are continuously having to interact, Claire finds her animosity turns into a sizzling spark of chemistry that she can no longer resist.

I had so much fun with this one. I loved how the author displays the whole- you have no idea what you're talking about until you're in it. (i.e. kids sound so easy and manageable but when you are actually faced with them, it is a whole new ball game). (Claire tried to warn him. She really did!) The author did an amazing job displaying the crazy shit-show that truly comes with being a parent and trying to make life work. Not just some idealized romance book version of perfect angels that just wanted a daddy to throw the ball with them and learn to spit? or scratch themselves inappropriately? IDK what boys and dads do but it's hardly ever what they should be showing them.

OMG, the scene where Tristan comes over to Claire's house unexpectedly and "meets" the kids for the first time. I was literally crying laughing! Woke my hubby up and everything. Hilarious.

I loved the growth and changes we saw, more so in Tristan, as he started to move from his playboy life and really decide who and what he wanted to do with the rest of his life. Claire kind of remained a shit-show until she was so broken down (grr...) BUT she eventually got there. The relationship that Tristan build with the kids and his progression into an actual full-fledged adult was beautiful.

I absolutely enjoyed The Takeover and cannot wait for the next in the series.

What a fun read! Hilarious at times, heartbreaking and heartwarming at others. I've definitely found a new book-boyfriend with Tristan.

There were a number of things that I rolled my eyes at that weren't realistic or romance cliches (which is what stopped me from rating it 5 stars - it's more like 4.5 start but rounded down to 4. See my GR review for mild spoilers)

That being said; I loved the banter between Tristan and Monica - they had me laughing out loud numerous times, I loved the 3 boys so much, and I LOVED Tristan.
I will definitely be going back to read book #1, and look forward to reading about the rest of the brothers when the series continues.

I absolutely loved this one,. Not a traditional couple but it totally worked. I literally laughed out loud throughout this entire read. Their dynamic and chemistry was unbeatable. I'm not kidding every character in this story was great. Her sons were hilarious and his brothers were also funny. This was one of my top reads for 2020. Claire and Tris start out with him trying to takeover her company. then they run into each other off chance at a conference. From there the story takes off. I absolitely recommend this book.

I am not sure how T.L. Swan did it, but I was laughing out loud while reading this book. This is my first book from this author, and I don't think it will be the last. I have not read the first in the series, and I am looking for after I finish this review.

It's long, as in 450 pages that I read in one sitting, other than getting up to get another cold package of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. Yeah, I enjoyed it.

Claire is a widow with three boys and now runs her late husband's media group, Anderson Media, and it is not doing well financially. She finally gives into a meeting with a competing media group, Miles Media, and Tristan Miles dares to offer to buy the company right then and there. Claire refuses and walks out of the room. She even turns in down for a date a few hours later.

Move a few months later, Claire is in France on a Mind Retreat, but she is there to clear her head and just relax. But the opening guest speaker is none other than Tristan Fucking Miles. She attempts to leave, and Tristan recognizes and calls her out to sit down in front of everyone, and she just walks out of the room.

Tristan is an asshole and comes off overbearing, and he gets what he wants. But he does grow or let down his facade the more he pursues and takes care of Claire and her three sons (the pranks they pull on him are hilarious). It's a messy story with lots of starts and stops, but it felt realistic in terms of relationships.

Overall, it was a fun read. The banter was great. Surprisingly, the number of pages for the sons didn't bother me and forced the main characters to show other parts of themselves, which I thought was a good move. Both characters fight to keep what they want but are willing to compromise.

There is a ridiculous amount of sex and the use of motherfucker that only harks back to SNL for me. I am not one for a MILF romance, but I enjoy it. I usually don't enjoy children on the page of a romance, but if the author does it well, I tend not to mind it.

Thank you so much for Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange of honest review.

I’ve been a big fan of Ms. Swan book for a while now. Her ability to show the true characters In her books are of the charts.

I love Tristan since The Stopover. His kindness and maturity shows when he exchange words with Emily. I did like Tristan more than Jameson, and from this book i can obviously see why. Tristan is one of the most selfless character i’ve read.

It’s been common to have a single parent dad in romance book and i was quiet shocked when the heroine is a tough single mother with 3 boys who obviously damaged with their passing father. I love the chemistry and how real the conversation between Tristan and Claire. The imperfection of Claire’ body is very sweet and the writer able to put the body positivity aspects beautifully in the book.

Tristan is way mature than his age and its no wonder he fell in love with older woman who shares the same maturity level. Claire is tough and hard working. She is not whiny or dependent. She’s someone to look up to. She is an amazing mother to her boys. I really fell in love with Claire’s personality in the book.

While the romance is written beautifully (with no annoying trait because the characters are so damn mature and like-able) the other thing I absolutely love in this book is the connection between the boys and Tristan. Tristan is an excellent father. His paternal instinct is obviously a turn-on and his approach to the boys is so heartwarming. Damn, Ms. Swan really makes a dreamy character this time.

If you’re looking for a heartwarming romance and family novel, this is for you. I cry my balls out reading all the interaction between Tristan and the boys because it was bloody good. And the way Tristan take care of Claire and the boys shows what a perfect father should looks like.

Hands up to Ms, Swan.

I cant wait for Elliot and the mystery Blonde story who i suspect is the painter.

A really nice long book that I was over the moon to get my teeth into.

The characters were wonderful, they had so much going for them, children included.

A the story was brilliant, one that had me all over the place, laughing, crying , tense.
Chapter 9 had my rolling in laughter, Tristan meeting Claire’s kids is the type of introduction that no one want . So funny.

If I had a criticism it would be that it felt like it ended on a rush, so much happens in the book, ups and downs.
Then in the last chapter it’s all thrown at you to end the storyline. I could have gone a few more chapters and spaced it a little.
But this is just picking for the sake of it. The whole thing was brilliant and I loved it, every single page.

I’m going to go read Jameson’s book now as this was my first from the author, I intended to read a lot more from her.

I received an Arc copy of this book and chose to post this review

This is my first book by this author and I really enjoyed it.

The set up and dynamic are different to many others in this genre and it worked. The book was long but engaging.

All characters were well described and you can’t help but crush on Tristan. I enjoyed the pranks and genuinely found parts of the book ‘giggle out loud’.

I didn't like this at all. Tristan was a douchebag and Claire doesn't have much of a personality. There really wasn't any relationship development at all and the book was way too long. I actually skimmed the last half so maybe there was something good in there that I missed, but I highly doubt it.

I liked this book enough to read the first story in this series, Mr Masters. Which I didn’t like as much. For me, this author wrote better as the series developed.
There was enough humour and snark and character and boys being boys for the story to read true.
I did think that her agency was really large – the numbers of employees seemed big, and I did wonder who it was who had given her funds when she had refused so many people – this seemed to be a point that should have been addressed as it enabled her agency to survive longer.
I liked how the story went between the different characters thoughts – this way of looking at interactions and occasions gives, when written well, an extra dimension to the story.

Claire is struggling to keep her late husband’s company alive and to ensure her boys have a legacy to inherit but with Tristan Miles lurking in the shadows waiting for his opportunity to do what he does best, take over flailing companies. Their first encounter was less than amicable, and Claire basically told Tristan to go to hell. Their second encounter, Tristan asks her out and Clair not so eloquently tell him to kiss her ass. Their third encounter throws Claire for a loop where a more charismatic Tristan worms his way into her good graces. A fling in Paris might be just what she needs but as far as Claire is concerned, that’s all it is; fling, a good time, scratching an itch. Tristan has other ideas, one taste of Claire and he’s hooked.
There were quite a few things in this book that gave me pause, one being the language. Nothing bad but just certain words that didn’t quite fit the flow of the book. The characters are American but some of the phrases aren’t things Americans would typically use. Not that this is not a bad thing by any stretch of the imagination, they are just things that stuck out to me. When I read certain phrases, in my head the characters voices suddenly had accents. Occasionally the timelines confused me. For instance, Claire’s oldest son. Claire’s family live in Long Island. Her son is seventeen (soon to be eighteen), and in high school, yet he applies for an internship in the city. At one point it seems like he’s still in high school but doing this full-time internship. There
All of that aside, this book really worked for me! This was a totally shocker for me. Based on how the story started, I just knew I wasn’t going to like him. That coupled by the fact that the Stopover (Jameson’s and Emily’s Story) wasn’t a favorite of mine I wasn’t holding out much hope for this one. But I love a series and I love a series with family, specifically siblings, so I had to give this a try. I enjoyed the journey Claire and Tristan took us on. Things moved a little slow for me in the beginning but then everything just took off. I thought their chemistry was excellent. The banter was great. Claire seemed a little rigid at first, but I liked how she relaxed throughout the story. I will admit, she drove me slightly crazy with her hesitancy and her basically dismissing Tristan’s devotion to her and her kids, but I really enjoyed them together.
I love storyline’s with kids, and I love the way Tristan and Claire’s kids blended in together. He bonded with each kid based on their needs. With Fletcher he helped him navigate that transition from being a kid to becoming a man. With Patrick he connected on a level of a young boy who barely remembered is dad who needs a dad. The Tristan and Harry relationship was by far the most complex and the showdowns between the two of them were but Tristan helped him deal with the issues of missing his dad. I liked the how the “Work Tristan” and “Personal Life Tristan” were separate but came together when it was needed.
The only thing stopping me from giving this book four stars, there were a few scenario’s that were too unrealistic for me and her boys seemed to be a little out of control for me.
There are still two Miles Brothers (Elliot and Christopher) left to learn about, but I think it’s going to be hard for them to top Tristan. Right now, he’s my favorite Miles Brother. I am curious about Elliot’s mystery woman so I’m looking forward to his story.

A decent enemy to lover romance. T.L. Swan offers readers a glimpse of non-traditional family dynamics and the difficulty in facing grief. Lots of steamy scenes, some laugh out loud moments, and plenty of feels. Overall, a good read.

Thank you to #NetGalley for the ARC of #TheTakeover which was read and reviewed voluntarily.

When I picked this book, I wasn’t really sure what to expect. I just read the blurb and thought I should give it a try. I thought this book was just going to be about a cold hero with no good personality trait, but what I got was entirely different. I won’t lie at first I didn’t like Tristan, I thought he was just going to be a cold-hearted jerk but he literally stole my heart. I loved how their relationship progressed over time and how he was able to win her sons also ( fletcher, Harry, Patrick) it was so cute to read. Claire was your typical single mother stressed and dog tired, it was clear that she was given too much to handle alone and Tristan came into her life at a very good time. I felt that T.l swan put every detail in this book without leaving anything out maybe it felt a little too long to some people but for me I loved it. I hate reading a book and feeling like it was too short and went a little too fast. But this felt just right for me. Claire annoyed me at times especially towards the end but it wasn’t enough to turn me off. I just loved their banter, they were seriously cute together. I also would have loved an epilogue but well it’s all good.
I am proud to say I didn’t skip any part of this book. It was quite lovely to read and I didn’t get tired at any point.
The only issue thing I can point out was the that some things were too drawn out in the book but that’s just a minor thing.
I recommend for anyone who loves a romance with steam, cute banter and a whole lot of cuteness. Thank you to Amazon Publishing and NetGalley for giving me this arc copy in exchange for an honest review.

The Takeover by T.L. Swan a fair four-star read. I had higher hopes for this story and it nearly got a five, but honestly I nearly gave up a couple of times at the begging of the story, and I am glad that I did as it did get better but that false start hurt the read. It could have been me being distracted but it usually takes a lot. I didn’t like Tristan, normally I can find something about a character I don’t like but I struggled with him, I didn’t hate him as much by the end, but I didn’t like him. The only parts I did enjoy about him was his interactions with some of the characters, they made the story but as a character no, just no.

I cried all the tears. Some were good (Tristan surprised me) and some were very sad. How do you know he’s a good guy by the way he treats children especially ones that are not his. Claire’s a widow with three sons who’s company is failing, enter Mr bossy arrogant Tristan Miles. I liked everything about Tristan and Claire together. Her sons do not share my sentiment. The scenes with Tristan and her sons are absolutely hilarious, plenty of hate and payback is a bitch (tick tock). I loved it, it was such a great read that I almost wanted to read again but then I stopped myself because I remembered all the tears.

Even better than The Stopover!

I didn’t think I would like this book when I first read the blurb. Despite the fact that I am a single mother, I generally don’t like romance books where the heroine is a single mother. I like the two main characters to be unencumbered. However this book turned out to be both super steamy and utterly hilarious and I loved every minute of it.

The character development was terrific and I ended up loving all of them, including the heroine’s three kids, Fletcher, Harry and Patrick. Or as the Hero Tristan calls them, Fletch, the Wiz and Tricky. The relationship with Tristan and middle child, Harry (The Wiz or Wizard, because of Harry Potter) is especially awesome. Harry is so against Tristan and a bit of a nut, so the way they interact is hilariously funny.

I really enjoyed The Stopover, which was book one in The Miles High series. This book was even better. The relationship between Tristan and Claire was hot and so realistic for how a relationship with a single mother goes. Many of the times they were together in the beginning, the kids stayed with her parents, since she is a widow. Whereas if she were divorced it would have been weekends where the kids were with their father. Tristan isn’t introduced to the kids until a bit later, which is like it should happen in real life.

Tristan is the best book boyfriend I have come across in a while. He is wealthy, powerful, tall, dark, handsome and utterly irresistible. He takes care of Claire and yet can get things so sizzling hot in the bedroom that my kindle is in danger of overheating. I loved Tristan and definitely want him for myself. If only real men were just like him.

The storylines were perfect. There was one about the company Claire runs which her and her husband Wade Anderson started, Claire has been struggling to keep it going so that she can hand it over to her boys when they are old enough. There is the romance storyline between Claire and Tristan, which is extremely romantic and steamy. There is the storyline about Tristan wanting a family of his own, which is poignant and sweet. The storyline about Claire’s kids not wanting an interloper in their lives, which is so funny and charming. Then there is a storyline about his mother wanting something different for her son than a woman with three kids. This book was just so perfect. I loved every minute of it.

I voluntarily read & reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts & opinions are my own.

"The Takeover" was a funny and romantic romp that definitely had me laughing out-loud! The story focuses on Claire Anderson a widow with 3 kids and her romance with millionaire Tristan Miles. Their first encounter is anything but romantic as Tristan sets up a meeting with Claire to offer to buy her company. Weeks later, Claire encounters Tristan again at a conference that she attends where he is a guest speaker. The banter between Claire and Tristan as they get to know each other and begin a romantic liaison is witty and endearing. The question becomes, can this mismatched couple at very different points in their lives continue their relationship after the conference? If you ask Claire's children the answer is a resounding "No"! The scene where Claire's children first meet Tristan was hysterical. You couldn't help but fall in love with Tristan as he tried to navigate the minefield of roadblocks that her children present to him in order to not only win Claire's heart but their hearts too. My only criticism is that I don't think that the actions of Claire's children were age appropriate in that the two younger children's actions seemed to be of even younger children than they were. Definitely recommend this book for a light and happy read:)

I received an ARC from NetGalley.
I absolutely loved this book. I enjoyed the premise, the business aspect, her kids and his family. The romance felt natural and unforced, and it was funny and poignant at the same time. I hadn't read the first in the series - so now I HAVE to go back and do that. This is a book I will read again and again.

The Takeover had me laughing, crying and yelling at my e-reader. The Takeover is a gorgeous love story about letting go of grief, finding love again and making a family with the people you choose to love truly.

"All my life I’ve been prepared to do a job that not many people could handle. I take over companies and destroy them - take what isn’t mine. I hate that it applies to her too. She will always be Wade Anderson’s wife."

Tristan Miles is in media acquisitions for Miles Media, his family’s business. He meets Claire Anderson when he tries to buy her company, Anderson Media, which used to be run by her late husband, Wade. Her business is in dire straits but she’s trying her best to honor her late husband’s wishes by keeping it afloat. Claire is physically attracted to Tristan on first sight but really hates what he stands for. Tristan is completely intrigued with the fierce, angry young widow.

Tristan is a funny, witty, stubborn, warm and incredibly intelligent and loving man. He’s simply a great character.

Clause is stubborn as well and trying to move past the loss of her husband five years ago, in addition to trying to respect his wishes with regards to his business and raising their children - she’s put a lot of pressure on her herself and she’s exhausted. She’s at her breaking point.

When they run into each other again at a motivational conference in France their attraction leads to a life-altering connection.

Upon their return to New York, Claire is ready to say goodbye to Tristan, convinced that her life with her three sons is more than he can handle. Tristan is just not ready to say goodbye yet.

The relationship that develops between Tristan and Claire and eventually between Tristan and her sons: Fletcher, Harry and Patrick is simply magical, incredibly heartwarming and insanely funny. There are a lot of laugh out loud moments in this book involving Tristan’s interactions with the boys. There’s also angst in the form of the internal conflict that eventually arises in one of the characters. The character’s choices will elicit a lot of intense feelings in readers.

What you need to know about The Takeover:
✔ Hot & Steamy romance
✔ Complete stand-alone (yet #2 of The Miles High Club)
✔ Older woman - younger man
✔ Enemies-to-lovers
✔ Young widow with three sons
✔ Hot Wealthy Business Man
✔ Opposites Attract

Let me start off by saying this book took me like four times longer to read them normal! You see I listen while reading and as soon as her kids came in the picture, first I fell off my couch then peed a little! Lol I was laughing so hard that I just couldn't stand it I kept having to stop the book and go back to read again because I was laughing to much!! Between the muff cat, woofy the dog and the slightly psychotic kids it's just to much!! My son came in my room and asked if I was ok?!! So please don't read in public because you might have some problems! Lol if you're in the mood for a great book with plenty of laughs this one's for you!! Thank you NetGalley and the publishers for sharing this book with me! Thank you T.L swan for your wonderful words! This book was awesome!!

So I had not previously read anything by this author but remembered her name from kindle unlimited recommendations.
I decided to read the first book in this series and then flip to this one. seemingly the author is doing a series on a group of brothers. I would highly recommend starting with the prior book and then reading this one. I loved the first book so expectations were high coming into this one. I found the story very sweet, a little far fetched at times, and 100 laugh out loud funny in other parts. The story stays on course and follows the normal plot line of this genre.
Reading this prompted me to go download another series by the same author which I spent a week devouring.
Highly recommend this and all others. Looking forward to more with this series.

I have to start by saying this is the funniest book I have read this year. I loved everything about this story. The back and forth, ups, downs, arguments, fights, disagreements, love, lust, steamy scenes, heartfelt moments, surprises and so much more. You will fall in love with Tristan and Claire. The more their relationship develops, the more you will love them. Claire's sons Patrick, Harry and Fletcher will have you wrapped around their fingers. When it comes to them expected the unexpected. The moment Tristan meets her kids for the first time will have you crying laughing and will have you smiling every time you hear the phrase tick, tock. It's been a long time since a book I've read had me laughing to were my eyes were tearing up. This story was dysfunctional at it's worst and wonderful at it's best. I loved it!!! I even enjoyed Tristan brothers Jameson, Elliot and Christopher and Claire's best friend Marley. The only thing I didn't care for in this story was that there were parts that were in French. I like to know what every character says, so when the language is in anything other than English without translation it's a bit frustrating because I'm left wondering what was said. Claire also has a lot of back and forth inner monologue that goes on but other than that, I absolutely loved this story. I definitely looking forward to reading more books from this author. I really want to see if any of her other books will top this one. It really is a must read and I will be recommending it to everyone I know.

HJ Top Pick!

Tristan Miles has been known for his sharp ruthless business ethic, so it is no surprise when he goes after Anderson Media the moment that he hears the company is not going to well financially, being in the acquisition side of the business Tristan was not prepared for the fiery Clair Anderson.

All Claire wants to do is run her late husband’s media company, raise her three boys and keep the memory of her late husband alive. So when the company that they had worked to hard to build begins to have financial trouble. Claire is adamant not to sell her sons future, and most definitely not to the devil in a dam sexy suit. Burning the candle at both ends Claire’s friend and assistant managed to convince her to go away for the week to do a rejuvenating mind workshop. After much back and forth Claire finally agrees, thinking this will be a good chance for her to recharge. However the very last thing she expected was to come face to face with non other than Tristan Miles. This time she won’t be able to just snub him as easily.
Taking it as a sign Tristan doubles down on his charm and mission to win the fiery Claire. With their attraction reaching an all time high the pair are unable to deny it any longer and give into their heated connection and share a wild night together. Not wanting to give up his time with Claire but needing to go to Paris for business, Tristan invites her to join him for the weekend in the city of love. Thinking she might as well get her fill while she can before she has to resume her responsible mundane mum life.
However having this weekend together in their blissed out bubble Tristan is not so willing to give up what he has found with Claire. But after having the most awkward meeting with Claire’s kids sends Tristan running, but not for long much to Harry's dismay. Being the persistent guy that he is Tristan powers through determined to win the boys over in order to prove his feelings for Claire. But will Claire be able to put her late husband behind her or will she let her guilt hold her back from living a happy life.

My only issue with this novel was the ending, I wanted more from the end. It felt incomplete for me, I would have loved to have seen Tristan with his own kid and see how the boys dealt with a new sibling. The Takeover was a brilliant enemies to lovers romance that I could not put down. This is one novel that I would highly recommend all book lovers read.
The Takeover is hands down a strong 5 star book, that checks every single book lovers box! This book is everything and more, Tristan is the perfect book boyfriend. It was impossible not to fall in love with this closet softy. I loved that even though the boys were initially so against him, Tristan persisted and was determined to win over the boys and show them that he cares about them and not only Claire. As for Claire’s character, I really tried to fully love her but she was not my favourite. I found that her problem with letting go of her late husband held her and the boys back from loving a full and happy life.

5 STARS for The Takeover by T L Swan

ARC received from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Opinions expressed are my own & have not been influenced in any way.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS BOOK !! It’s a top read for me of 2020.

I have been eagerly awaiting the release of this book since The StopOver ( Book one in The Miles High Club series ) both can be read as standalones. I think I must have been living under a rock as well since I was very fortunate to discover this author’s work c/o Netgalley !

This cover is perfection & I would also love to mention the dedication! First page - can you say I’M HOOKED !! Quoting the author “ This book is dedicated to the Alphabet ... For those 26 letters have changed my life ... Next time you say the alphabet remember it’s power. I do every day .... “

The story of Tristen Miles & Claire Anderson begins with his attempted proposal for a takeover of Anderson Media. Tristen is use to getting what he wants taking over failing companies & in most cases breaking them up into various sellable parts. The company has been operating at a massive loss for 3 years. What Tristen doesn’t know is that Claire will do anything she can to save her husband’s company as a legacy for her three children.

From their first meeting it’s like a strategic game of cat / mouse & it seems a given that Claire is going to be on the losing end. If you like office settings - corporate takeovers - enemies to lovers this book is for you.

I read this book in one sitting & have since re-read it. I very rarely get emotional reading a book but there were several scenes that the author just nails “emotionally “ - you end up feeling profound sadness & then joy. Also, it was really refreshing the way that Claire’s children are an integral part of the story line.

This book was just amazing - highly recommend it !! For me the sign of a great book is that the characters just stay with you & you don’t want their story to ever end ! This was the case for me with The Takeover.

I will be checking out more of this author’s work ! Great read !

I have been a fan of TL swan for a while, and enjoyed most of her books, however this one was something special. I particularly like the style of writing which offers us both POVs, and it strikes a perfect balance between inner monologue and dialogue.
The Takeover is the second book in The Miles High Club and is even better than The Stopover. While to book is on the longer side, it does not read like a slow burn book and offer a well-developed, detailed plot line. Claire is older (this is different from many books I have read recently, and it was refreshing) than Tristan and has 3 boys, while raising them on her own since her husband’s passing. I loved both Claire’s and Tristan's character development throughout the story. Their banter and chemistry were amazing. What I particularly enjoyed was Tristan's relationship with Claire’s sons, and how much detail and emotion went into their interactions. The story was a bit of an emotional roller coaster towards the end, but as I finished the last chapter it left me grinning.
I am very intrigued to get stories for the other two brothers Elliot and Christopher.
Thank you to #Netgalley for making this book available to me.

**3.5 Stars**

Hmmm... This is a tough review to write. This is my first book by the author but the blurb sounded really interesting and I was initially hooked in to the story line. Some parts of the story really appealed to me, and some parts of the story really grated on my nerves and I could have done without.

I didn't like Tristan at first, though his character really grew on me and I loved him much more than Claire as the book progressed. I struggled with Tristan's initial interactions with Claire's children, but really loved how he grew in that area. I most definitely struggled with the back and forth major break up reason toward the end of the book as I think Claire just didn't make a lot of sense and that part of the book wasn't well thought and executed well. I also don't think part of the book in terms of the children's travel was even remotely realistic.

Overall I did find the story engaging and interesting, though there were some parts I wish were different or struggled with or felt could use some tweaking.

There isn’t a book I’ve read by this author that I haven’t stayed up way too late reading because I can’t get enough. This is no exception. Just a warning tho- you’ll want more. And when you finish them all you’ll count down the days until the best release.

After loving The Stopover, I honestly couldn’t wait to get my hands on this book! I had read a few not very romantic/low steam romance books and I knew this one would be exactly what I was looking for. And it was...mostly. Tristan is honestly my favorite type of hero - very alpha male business man but so soft on the inside for Claire. And I felt for Claire, frazzled single mom doing it all - running her own business and raising three boys on her own. Their romance was perfect!
This book is STEAMY from very early on and I loved that. Lots of “bad words” - f bombs, etc. I’m fine with all of that and actually enjoy it! My issues were the extremely unhealthy and immature way Tristan treated Claire’s children (particularly Harry) initially. The names that were used like “psycho” and another derogatory word that I can’t even repeat because I am so disturbed. It really ruined a book I would have otherwise enjoyed. I struggle writing negative reviews, but this had to be said.

I wasnt as impressed by this story as I was with the 1st book in the series but it was still entertaining and fun to read. Thanks for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I am very new to TL Swan, so when I was selected to read an advance copy of The Takeover, I was excited, but not sure what I was getting into. Before I could read the second book in The Miles High Club, I read the first, and by the time I was done, was ready to jump right into The Takeover.

I’m not usually too emotional when I read, but boy, was I belly laughing at some of the parts in this book! Not only did I laugh, but TL Swan had me tearing up too, which shows what a talent she has as an author. In this book, we get to know Tristan Miles, who is drawn to Claire Anderson in a way that he has never been drawn to another woman before. Claire is not even close to his type, being a single mom with three boys. But after being rejected by her, Tristan made it his mission to get under her skin, and what developed was a true love story in the making. These characters make you laugh, cry, and have all the feels! I can’t wait for the next one!

Previous to this book I had read The Stopover so I was really excited to see the second book come out. If you haven’t read the Stopover, no need to worry as it can be read as a stand alone novel (but it is a great book so get it downloaded!).
This book follows Tristan, your typical eligible bachelor. He comes up against Claire, a widow with 3 boys. Claire isn’t looking for anything romance wise as she is still grieving for her husband but who can resist Tristan Miles?!
I loved following the ups and down of their relationship and the way Claire was so protective of her boys, I could totally get on board with due to the great emotional writing. The bond Tristan and Claire had was brilliant and I found myself often snickering at their banter.
Thank you for the opportunity to read this book ... I cannot wait for the third one!

Thanks to #Netgalley for making this book available to me.
Having read a few of T.L. Swan's books, I have to say that this is the best I have read so far.
Here we follow Tristan who we were briefly introduced to in The Stopover, which is the first book in the series (you don't need to read it before this one but trust me, you want to). Tristan Miles is a rich, entitled, arrogant flipper who buys struggling or bankrupt companies and turn them into financial giants, and next on his long list is Anderson media which is rule by Claire Anderson. Pity he doesn't know that he is about to bite more than he can chew with Mrs. Anderson.
Claire is a mother of 3 boys, she became widowed a few years ago when her husband, the 'one' love of her life died in an accident involving a drunk driver. She has since then given up on a romantic relationship, choosing to focus on raising her sons and ensuring that the drowning company doesn't actually drown. She is definitely now selling her company to the 'asshole' Tristan because what will she have left?
So she has been avoiding his calls until she is left with no choice but to go have a meeting with him and as expected they have this first meeting chemistry, where he knows he just has to have her regardless of what she thinks. She turns him down and his fragile ego is hurt.

A few months later, they meet again at a conference in France and as expected, again, they finally decide to just give it a go and their chemistry is explosive. They move from France to Paris for the weekend but soon the weekend ends and they have to go back home to reality.
He to his blonde girlfriends and her to her sons. But the first interaction between Tristan and her sons involving him getting his brief shoved in his mouth Embarassing and traumatic for him! (Trust me this is just the beginning of his pain)
This book is absolutely hilarious and it highlights the pain of loss and moving on, the acceptance of change, and that the pain of losing someone is really gone but you have to be willing to adapt to change and find the rainbow in the storm.

Wow what a great book! This has been my favorite of all the books I’ve reviewed so far. It’s a beautiful story with so many different aspects that had me devouring it in two days! Tristan and. Claire’s love evolved from enemies, lovers, and finally to a family. Overcoming the death of a spouse and finding love again was heart wrenching and thrilling. I definitely recommend for fans of enemies to lovers story types.

I loved this book!! I usually don’t like books with single Moms, even though I was one for a while. I loved how authentic the heroine was described, after babies and being the older woman. It was funny, sexy and just a little angsty. Highly recommend this book and all TL Swan’s other work. Great read!!

Wow just wow, i know the book will be great as this is not the first time I read TL Swan’s books, and she did not disappoint. I started this book and could not stop till the end. I laughed and cried so much my hubby came to check on me. It got everything you want in it and it is so worth it. I really enjoyed every moment of this book.

Do not be afraid to travel a new path, it may be the way you've been looking
for all along...

This story was everything I ever needed right now in my life. I never laughed so hard when I read Tristan and Claire's story. A wonderful swoon worthy love story with an overload of feels. Sexy as sin Tristan Miles is every woman's bad boy dream come true. The sexual magnetism Tristan and Claire have together is off the charts blazing.

Claire's sons Fletcher, Harry and Patrick were a delight to read, even when they were acting up. Tristan surprised me in so many ways. The love he has in his heart for Claire and the boys had me reaching for the tissues on more than one occasion. I hope that T.L. Swan continues to give us more of this world.

Well ... what a book! Absolutely loved The Takeover, fantastic storyline. The characters were brought to life by the magnificent depth of writing . The tears of sadness and joy that you encounter by Tee is phenomenal. The human
mour and rapport created signifies how much time is devoted to her writing. If you have not read any TL Swan , where have you been? Once you’ve read one, the back catalogue will soon be on your kindle . Well done TL Swan doe yet another fantastic book.

I have now become a fan of this author :)
The book was amazing. I couldn't put it down once i started.
Dual POV gave insights on both their feelings making it more interesting.
Widowed Claire is frustrated balancing life with struggling company and three boys without father. Tristan's is carefree cleared by Claire by making him see what he wanted in life all along
Tristan was amazing in the way he handled meeting and getting to know the kids to handling her pets. The story is set with a family with typical boys growing up and the struggle Claire is going through to fulfill her late husband's promise. All these are written so well that each situation was handled realistically with grace and sensitivity.
Some funny moments, beautiful romance and great drama.
I'll definitely be checking out more of this writer's work.
I thank Netgalley for the advanced copy

This book has everything that I love in a story. The chemistry between Claire and Tristan is smoking hot with amazing highs and heartbreaking lows. The humour is proper laugh out loud moments and one part in particular was just hilarious. The sex scenes HOT but doesn't overpower the story. Last but not least the kids oh man they are brilliant and Patrick is just an absolute sweetheart.

I dropped 1 star as there were a few descriptive moment that I felt were repeated a little too often, but still it doesn't take away my enjoyment of this book and I definitely recommend it.

I have never met an alpha CEO so comical, what a wonderful refreshing read. It took so many unexpected turns. I was expecting a hard faced alpha douchebag. What I got was a funny, sensitive, alpha god, Tristan Miles, and the woman he can’t seem to get out of his head, Claire Anderson, a widow with 3 unruly boys. For 75% of the story I was laughing and chuckling to myself, I pretty much had a permanent smile on my face. The boys, were protective, naughty, and completely endearing. Tristan’s altercations with them were so funny. Then came the tears........Holy moly, I got emotional. Stubborn blooming characters, thinking that they’re doing the right thing and upsetting not only me, but all my wonderful new fictional family. Tristan didn’t know he needed a family to complete him, and the Andersons didn’t want to welcome anyone into their family, but life is full of curveballs. A wonderful story, great writing, with adorable characters, and so many sweet moments, a tonne of sexy moments, some emotional moments, and all those funny moments in between. I loved it. I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. This is my honest review.

1. I do not do spoilers unless warned.
2. Read the summary above; it will tell you what the book is about. I will not reiterate.
3. Characters are well developed and even likeable. Both characters grow by the end of the story and you do care about these characters long before the story ends.
4. Plot is somewhat typical rich, arrogant Hero meets average single mom troupe love story. Our Hero grows and evolves as he discovers what he really wants and our hero struggles as well with her reality. As our heroine is a mother of 3, I did enjoy the author writing in what all mother's face at some point - the fact that they love their children but their bodies have suffered for their children and will never be the same and I loved our Hero's response to that insecurity. When the children enter to story is where things really get good and real. I was laughing hysterically while trying not to wake my 5 year old I just got to sleep.
5. No errors that I caught as far as editing.
6. It’s an enjoyable very steamy romance and one I would recommend. This author was new to me and if this is an example of her work, I’ll be looking for more.

Wow. This book took me by surprise. I honestly went to netgalley and saw this cover and was like ok I will try this author. I am speechless.

This book has it all. The emotion, the steam (so so steamy), the laughter and I need to mention again... steam. The first part of this book was the push and pull of the hate Claire has for Miles. But when Claire finally lets her guard down.. these two burn. What I really loved most was the reality when they came back to real life. Claire and Tristen come from different realities. I was floored when Tristan met her kids. It’s no instant “I can be a father to these lovely kids” moment. This man has some real thoughts and I died being inside those thoughts.

Tristan Miles. I mean the perfect REAL man. Arrogant and sexy, yet funny and sensitive. I have found my newest book boyfriend.

I am left with wanting more from this couple. So much more. Can I please have just a tad more? Please.

I devoured Tristian & Claire’s story & in less than 24 hours I have read it twice.

TL Swan delivered so much greatness in Tristian & Claire’s story. Claire’s sons definitely gave Tristian a run for his money! I loved how Tristian treated Fletcher, Harry, & Patrick like his own and won them over.

Claire & Tristian had great chemistry & hilarious banter! Claire & Tristian were imperfectly perfect for each other. Neither of them were prepared for each other.

I love this series beyond words & I can’t wait for Elliot & Christopher’s stories!

I voluntarily reviewed this book.

This was a real delight to read! Tristan is a completely different character to his brother Jameson from book 1!

This book focuses on Claire and Tristan. Claire is a widow with 3 children, working hard to keep her husband legacy alive!
Initially things don’t go so well.
But that doesn’t stop Tristan from getting what he wants...and what he wants is Claire!
Looking forward to reading more about the Miles men... and hopefully there’s two more that might get their story!

This book was absolutely amazing. It takes you on a complete rollercoaster with laughter, crying and love. Tristan is the epitome of an Alpha male...dominate...yet full of humor. If you are looking for a good read where you can escape and just enjoy...you are in the right spot! T L SWAN YOU TOTALLY ROCK! I just wish I could rate this book with 10 stars.

The Takeover – (The Miles High Club #2) - by T. L. Swan

The Takeover is a story of acquisitions and love and how four people become a family of five.

This is more than a love story between two adults but the love between two adults and three boys, the love of a man who wants to build a new family with a woman who is trying to move of from the loss of a husband and father and the love of three boys who need a good man to help them become men.

Tristan Miles business man, player and in charge of acquisitions for Miles Media wants to make an offer for Anderson Media, Claire Anderson wants nothing to do with him or his offer. Until they meet up months later at a conference in France. It’s then that Tristan realizes the acquisition he really wants is Claire. However, with Claire come three boys, Fletcher, Harry and Patrick, who are very protective of their mother and have no problem giving Tristan a hard time when it comes to winning them over.

T. L. Swan manages to weave humor, grief, and passion and character growth into a wonderful story of how a new family evolves out of the tension, trust, sometimes mistrust and anger and tears.

Swan’s Takeover will take hold of your heart and your feelings and then give you the ending that makes you sigh and leave a contented smile on your face.

I received an ARC of this book from Netgalley in exchange for a review.

OK, so I am not sure exactly where to start with this story. The reason being is because I absolutely LOVED every word of this book! I laughed so much and felt so much during this ride . I wanted to side with Tristan Miles at times and then my heart would break for Claire Anderson and her boys. This book has it all, hilarious interactions, so much heart and angsty goodness all in one.
The banter between Tristan and Claire is nothing short of comedy gold! They give each other so much sass and crap, I was just eating it up. Claire's constant "the bastard," never gets old. While Tristan's constantly using "Anderson" at any given chance, was just brilliant. You could see the chemistry building and never sure when it was going to become combustible , but you just KNEW it would be explosive! What could you possibly do to add fuel to an already explosive situation? Add 3 precocious boys, ages 18, 13 and 9! The addition of the boys just added to the hilarity and heart of this story. Three boys who have lost their father 5 years prior and are trying to come to terms with this new man who has entered their lives. It makes you cry tears of joy from laughing and tears of pain for this family and the situation they are facing.
I really can not find enough words to express just how much I enjoyed and loved getting to know these characters and experience a wonderful story . I am looking forward to reading so much more from this author.

TL Swan has delivered again. This one is expectional. Enemies to Lovers. 5 stars, I would give it much more!
Tristian Miles is sexy, and rich. He wants to takeover Claire Andersons buisness. Their first meeting doesn't go well. She tells him there is no way she will take his offer. Tristain and Claire meet up again 6 months later and he knows he has to have her. Hotness off the charts.
I laughed so many times, Claire's boys are hilarious.
This book has it all. Emotions, trust, understanding and lots of love.
You will not be dissappointed.

I absolutely loved this book! I don't often cry in romance books and if I do it is usually only once. This book, however, had me tearing up on multiple occasions and once full-on crying. Tristian is swoon-worthy and definitely one of my favorite romance heroes.

They spend a night together and Tristan asks Claire to join him in Paris which sets them up for something more. Claire only wants to live in the moment because once she goes home its back to reality for her with her boys. Tristan is not one to want to let her go and is willing to fight her for her heart. Claire is stubborn and thinks she has to do everything on her own. Tristan is a fixer and is always trying to find ways to help others. They hit so many roadblocks in their relationship and Claire's stubbornness is the main block because she just doesn't see what others see. I loved Tristan because he fought so hard throughout this story and was willing to fight for Claire and her boys. Claire was too much drama for me and I found her selfish and clueless. The whole book revolved around Claire not wanting to give anything in the relationship and Tristan giving his all the whole time. That is the only thing I found I didn't not like. It was a good mixture of laugh and love with these characters. Tristan and the boys more than made up for Claire and I am glad I got to read their story.

I liked the story overall and it could have been so fantastic if it wasn't for how badly main characters, Claire and Tristan were written. It was impossible for me to feel any emotions towards them whatsoever because they were acting so immature throughout the entire book. To be honest, I think 9-year old Patrick was the most mature character in the whole bunch. Claire appears to have some kind of identity crisis? I mean, how else can I explain why her monologues are in British English? She grew up in the US, lives in Long Island, but if you hear her, you'd never know that. Tristan is also very weird (I mean, who do you know that uses the word "underpants" in his daily speech? Not "underwear" or "boxers" or "briefs", UNDERPANTS...So odd). His inner monologues were also that of a 12-year old.
I appreciate the fact that we are dealing with older main characters (not your typical 20s), a single parent and grieving a loved one, I just wish the characters were more thought out.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher I was able to read an ARC of The Takeover by T.L. Swan. This was my first book I ever read by T.L. Swan and ABSOLUTELY loved it so much. Tristan Miles is a businessman who takes over failing companies and has he's sights on Anderson Media, Claire Anderson's late husband's company. She turns him down for a date and business offer only to end up meeting him at a conference 6 months later. They hate each other, but they can't stay away from each other. After a conference hookup and a weekend in Paris they come back to New York and reality sets in for Claire. She has three kids and a believes relationship with a younger man like Tristan will never work out. One of Claire's son ends up at an internship with Miles Media and once again their paths cross.

This book was sweet and super funny. Tristan's and Claire's inner monologues were hilarious to read at times. Tristan's scenes with Claire's kids, Fletcher, Harry, and Patrick, were so funny I was laughing out loud at parts. Patrick was such a cute kid and loved how he grew so attached to Tristan. All kids' relationship with Tristan was a fantastic read. The ending was perfect!! This wasn't just a love story between two people, but the forming of a family.

4.25 Stars

O wow what an amazing story. I loved it. Such an emotional rollercoaster, angst, love pain, laugh pain. Amazing. Both Clair and Tristan amazing characters, especially Tristan. A great book that is definitely one of my top 5 best reads ever. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for NetGalley

The beginning left me wanting. We meet Tristan and Claire. He is a rich business man trying to buy her company and she is a widow, struggling to keep her late husband's company afloat.

Claire is wildly unprofessional and rude, so of course he is in love with her immediately. There's a lot snark, to and about other women, which I don't care for at all.

They meet up at a conference a few months after this and get together. Once they return home, Claire gets back to momlife and he is looking to presue their no-strings relationship at home. This quickly moves to a full string relationship with plenty of angsty shenanigans to keep things crazy.

An unhealthy suspension of disbelief is required to read this looooong book. She's a mother of 3 from LI, he's a billionaire who only dates gorgeous models. She's a mother of 3 who goes to a conference in France for a week, and then extends her trip further. There's more, but I don't want to give out spoilers.

This book was not for me. I didn't really connect with the characters, and while there were some sweet (and funny) moments with the kids and Tristan, it just wasn't enough for me. Also, Tristan, as the alpha-hole, makes a lot of decisions for this family and it was very red flaggy for me.

Thanks to Netgally for the ARC.

THIS BOOK WAS SO MUCH FUN!!

What a roller-coaster ride! Claire and Tristan can hate each other like I've never read before! This book is utter perfection from start to finish.

After the initial meet-hate scene where he tries to buy out her company, the stage is set for their next meeting, which happens to be at a conference with all the delicious proximity and curse-filled stare-downs we could want, making it the perfect setup for explosive hate sex. And wow, does it deliver! But who can resist him? Claire certainly couldn't:

"Tristan Miles is chocolate. Rich, delicious, and dreamy, he offers a high . . . but in the end, he is detrimental to your health and bad to the bone."

I couldn't agree more: Tristan is the best kind of chocolate, like a Lindors truffle. Solid and delicious on the outside, soft and meltingly gooey on the inside.

But then, after Claire goes home to her three boys and Tristan tries to follow, the fun really begins. I haven't laughed so much at a book in a very long time! What those boys put him through is enough to send even the most stalwart suitor running for the hills! So creative, so on point, and I so appreciated that the author didn't make the children perfect little angels. These are real boys, and I loved every bit of them.

What follows is such a wonderful, deeply emotional family love story that I cannot recommend highly enough. When the bubble bursts and their insurmountable obstacle stares them in the face, it's impossible not to agree with both of them, and yet you want each of them to cave so we all can enjoy the love again. The solution comes from an unexpected corner when we realize who is really responsible for their match, and my heart simply melted all over again. What a joyous HEA for such a heartbreaking beginning. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

The Takeover was my first book by T. L. Swan and I absolutely LOVED it. This story made me laugh so much, but it also made my heart ache. That’s my favorite kind of story.

Tristan made me swoon. He can be a bit of an ass, but underneath it all, he’s warm, caring, funny, and sexy. His interactions with Claire’s sons made me laugh so hard and then they gave me all the feels. Tristan has the biggest heart and he falls in love and will do anything for Claire and the boys.

Claire was rediscovering herself after losing her husband five years earlier. She was funny and so into Tristan once she gave him a chance. She was a bit protective of her heart and of her boys, but it was completely understandable. I did get frustrated with her near the end, but I knew her actions were out of fear.

The first meeting with Claire’s boys CRACKED ME UP!! I haven’t laughed so much at a book in a long time. Watching these characters become a family made my heart full.

The chemistry between Claire and Tristan was off the charts. They were hot. They also had an awesome friendship and later partnership. They were so good for each other.

If an enemies to lovers, single parent, age gap romance is your jam, look no further. The Takeover has so much heart, fun, and angst that it will keep you engaged until the very end.

I think I like this even better than book one! There were some seriously funny moments, and the banter between Tristan and Claire was off the charts. Claire is sure stubborn and resistant, Tristan had his work cut out for him in pursuing her, and then eventually her boys. I seriously about died the first time he met them!

And Tristan seems like a ruthless playboy in a suit, but that's so not him. He looks out for those he cares about, he's funny, willing to put his heart on the line. I love him.

I cried a couple times along the way, and I didn't want this story to end. The writing is so smooth and the flow is so perfect, making it a book that's hard to put down. The end surprised me in a good way, and now I have to wait and hope for more books.

This book was such an incredibly emotional journey. I felt such a wide range of things from humor, annoyance, shock, sadness, to sweetness. Both main characters were stuck in their lives and upon meeting each other, well to be fair we will say upon spending quality time together, they began to evolve and learn that things could be different. It isn't until near the end that they truly learn what is worth fighting over and fighting for. I look forward to seeing what happens with the other brothers.

I Loved this book! OMG! Tristan and Claire had me laughing sooo hard. Those kids were a TRIP! I just Loved it from beginning to end!! It was just perfection. I highly recommend this book. I am going right now to read book 1 of this series.

I loved everything about this book! I’ve been waiting to read it since last October when I finished The Stopover, the first book in The Miles High Club series. The Takeover was even better than I had hoped!

Claire and Tristan meet when he offers to buy her late husband’s company. Claire has worked hard to keep the company afloat and is offended by the offer. They go their separate ways, but both feel a strong attraction. Several months later, Claire and Tristan meet at a conference. They agree to a fling, but Tristan wants more and he gets what he wants.

Claire and Tristan’s journey isn’t an easy one. Her three boys are in various stages of grief over the death of their father. While Tristan initially makes light of the complications associated with dating a widow with children, he more than rises to the occasion. Once he makes up his mind to be with Claire, he puts in the hard work to win over each child on the child’s terms. It is a realistic portrayal of the frustrating and sometimes funny moments involved in bringing together a blended family. I adored Tristan’s interactions with Claire’s sons. The initial meeting between Tristan and the boys had me laughing so hard that I had tears in my eyes. I smiled every time Tristan stepped in to be the father figure that the boys desperately needed.

Throughout the book, Tristan shows Claire what he’s willing to do to keep them together. This sexy, dirty-talking alpha male goes above and beyond to make their relationship work. His efforts will touch your heart. I also appreciated that Tristan respected and admired Claire’s stubborn independence. For the most part, he knew how to take care of her without taking over. He also knows when fighting Claire is in the best interest of the longevity of their relationship.

Get ready for a book that you won’t be able to put down. The Takeover is an exceptional read -- emotional, hilarious, heartwarming, steamy, and more!

Thank you to Amazon Publishing and NetGalley for this early copy of this book. All opinions expressed in this review are my own.

I didn't care for it. at times I thought I was reading two different stories and not very good at that. I didn't care for Claire or Tristian. I felt this would be better places as erotica and all they seem to do is have sex. I'm not against sex but they didn't have any conversations about life. The one scene I did like was Tris at the school with the boys. other than that, not a fan

The Takeover is one of the best books I've read for the entire year. I read the first book in this series earlier this year and was dying to get my hands on the sequel and I was not disappointed. This book was so refreshing.

I love all of the characters in this book. I love Tristian and Claire, but most of all I loved all the sons and the way the family molded together. Watching Tristian fall in love with Claire was so satisfying, but watching him fall in love with all of her children was downright beautiful. Watching him win their hearts made my heart melt, and seeing their bonds develop over this book was perfect. I don't think the book was too long. None of it dragged. I felt like all of the scenes in this book helped us get the final story. That is rare. I've found most books either drag way too long or don't give me enough and I'm waiting more. This was the perfect length and gave me the perfect story.

I really hope T.L. Swan writes a book for all of the Anderson-Miles boys!

Tristan Miles is the playboy of the Miles' brothers. He tends to like tall, blonde, model-like bimbos for a night or two....never anything serious. When Tris talks with Claire Anderson about taking over her company, Anderson Media, he is shot down. Three days later, Tris calls Claire and asks her out on a date. Claire cannot believe the huge pair that Tristan must have to have to have the gall to ask her out! Now, six months later Claire runs into Tristan in Paris where he is the guest note speaker at a conference she is attending. One thing leads to another and these two decide to have a week long affair and that at the end of the week, it's over. Too bad when they get back to New York, Tristan just can't seem to forget Claire. He knows she's a mom to three boys, but how bad can it be?

When Tris decides to pursue something more with Claire, he finds out just what having three boys means. While Tristan tries to navigate Claire's family life, he is also trying to teach Claire's oldest how to run a media company. It will take a lot of patience, determination and love for Tristan and Claire to find their happy ending, but it will be worth it!

I just adore this book. It was fun seeing Tristan, a very rich man shown a life that is not so privileged. I also loved all of the things that happened between Tristan and the boys. Lots of LOL moments! It was interesting seeing how a window goes through life still holding on to the memories of her husband while trying to move onward. Overall I really loved this book.

I have now read all of T. l. Sean's books. This is one of my top 2 favorites. T.L. has grown so much as an author. In the Takeover we have the typical T. L. Swan vibe. The hot alpha male and the beautiful snarky woman. This time though, the aloha is a bit softer and the woman is not that typical. This book grabbed me and sucked me in and wouldn't let me go. I laughed out loud, I cried, I held my breath and I fell in love. This is a love story I will read again and again.

It was last November when I discovered the author T.L. Swan, by reading her extraordinary novel «The Stopover». I bought all of her books at once, and a few weeks ago I also read her book «Our Way», which I found one of the most amazing books I ever read. This book must be read by all readers, who will appreciate the essence of true love and acceptance. A true hymn to love.

Of course, all this time, I was awaiting for her next novel, «The Takeover». I wanted to learn about the story of Tristan, who fascinated me with his kindness and sense of humor in «Miles High Club». And, at last, I took it in my hands, only to find out that it wasn’t Tristan’s story, but Tristan and Claire’s story. A book about their families, their past, their current lives and their effort to build a future.

Tristan met Claire on the process of buying her business. He is instantly charmed by her and he claims her. Claire is a widow, who raises her three boys all alone and tries to survive in the hard world of corporations. She rejects Tristan’s business and romantic proposals and she decides to go on with her ordinary life. But both fate and Tristan have different plans.

T.L.Swan, once again, fascinated me. She created a wonderful love story, using all the platitudes of contemporary romance, without the story being cliché or stereotypical. Tristan has all the features of a usual hero of a romantic novel, only to find out that he is far from being a usual one. Claire, on the other hand, is portraired like a usual romantic heroine, but she behaves like this only to gain safety and stability in her everyday life. Their relationship is explosive and they have to learn to leave behind the bargains of their past. They must fight –some times literally– with their families, their emotions, their business plans for the future and their diversity.

This is one of the best books I have ever read. You will fall for Tristan and Claire, their relationship and dynamic. You will be amused with Claire’s intimidating and overprotective children –I loved them all, especially the “young wizard”, who won a place in my heart – you will cry with their heartache, their loss and their expectations of a new love. I wasn’t expecting T.L. Swan to make me cry again, after the “Our Way”. But she did it again. I cried, I laughed, I wandered around in Paris with her heroes and I’m truly anticipating for her next novel. I don’t know how she does it, but she makes me full of joy and hope, after every book of hers that I read.

P.S. Something tells me that in her next novel of the “Miles High Club” series, T.L. Swan will show us her skills in painting.

This is my first time reading this author's work. Her writing is amazing and completely buried me in her story. Right from the beginning, I knew this was a book to be savoured and enjoyed. I was completely shattered after reading it-there where parts where I was snort-laughing,and twice I was tearing up. Tristan and Claire have this fantastic chemistry together which just grows as time goes on. Tristan adores Claire, and shows it in so many ways. I loved their banter, the way their relationship evolved, and the her sons-such great character development. I loved every bit of this book! One of my favourite reads this year.

I've been luck enough to read this author before so was thrilled to be able to read this

Loved it ! And would highly recommend

Totally engrossing and read it in one sitting - could not put this down once I started.

Loved the characters and their interaction - loved their story

Will be re-reading more slowly this time - can't say more than that

Since I loved The Stopover I knew I had to read the second book in the series. The Takeover is different in a very good way from its predecessor. So it’s hard to know which one I love more!

I’m a huge fan of enemies-to-lovers romance that add heat and steam to its witty characters. And this one does it off the charts! Tristan is an arrogant and unapologetic man who doesn’t stop when he wants something or someone. But don’t let that domineering ego fool you. There’s another side to him.

Claire is a grief stricken woman who has been struggling to move on. But she isn’t a shrinking violet either. Her personally I think matched our hero’s perfectly.

The banter between the alone is well worth picking up the book to read. I love fire and sparks between characters who butt heads. So it’s safe to say that the chemistry is off-the-charts.

I loved the fact that there wasn’t any obvious twists. Plus there’s another reason that the couples don’t loose themselves in each other. Their essence and being stood against their relationship. This can be read as a stand-alone but I highly recommend reading The Stopover!

Thank you to the publisher Montlake Romance and Netgalley for allowing me to read!

The Takeover is an exceptional love story of the ties that bind us - family, acceptance, real life emotions, angst and second chances. The passion and power of Tristian and Clarie's devotion, connection and their undeniable love for one another was off the charts. Add to that Tristan's evolution from the typical alpha male to an impassioned and dedicated father to the "three other hearts"... was simply perfect.

The writing, plot and dialogue is superb. You will laugh out loud, you will cry, you will experience pulse-pounding highs and torturous lows...and at the end, you will have a smile on your face. T.L. Swan, a new author for me, knows how to capture the readers attention and keep it there to the very end.... and writes some of the best sex scenes I've read in a long time. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

I received an advanced copy of this book and am enthusiastically leaving an honest review.

I'm now obsessed with this particular miles brother and will be immediately buying the first book in this series.

Claire is a single mother to three boys after her husband died in an accident. She took over her husbands business, Anderson Media so she can keep her kids in a life they've come to know. Everything she does is to honour her husbands idea of what their kids lives should be, going to public school, not expecting things just because they have money, live in a house with a garden etc. But the business is struggling enter Tristan Miles.

Tristans job is to buy companies that are about to go under as cheaply as possible and turn it into a success. He's known as a playboy who doesn't seem to take things to seriously other than his job.

On their first meeting things don't go to well, neither does the second. Once they finally do talk properly they realise they have the same sense of humour and eventually sleep together.

I'd love to give this book five stars but I found myself frustrated with Claire when she brought up the age difference between them being an issue... it was only 4 years, which is nothing. Also they separate a few times which got a bit annoying when it all could have been talked out.

I appreciated the way Tristan backed off when it was obvious that the wizard was not going to be easy to get on side about dating his mother.

The nicknames for the kids made me smile everytime he used them. Plus the bond that gets formed between the kids and Tristan is something I could have read more about because it was so well done.

This is 10 star story sucked me in so deep in the heart of it that I basically read it in one sitting. I was hooked from the first page to the last one read.

Tristan is an arrogant prick that always gets what he wants and he wants Claire. She’s not easy to get. She’s a widow trying to keep her husband’s company a float. She has a lot going on and doesn’t have time for Tristan’s games.

Let me start by saying that is the ONLY story in the history of stories I have read that made me laugh so hard that I cried and wheezed. I would have needed my Albuterol. It had the funniest storyline and scenes. Besides being funny it had it’s heartfelt moments too. I loved ALL these amazing characters. Tristan is an all new level of arrogant prick. He cared deeply and was very protective.

The storyline was to die for. I really thought I would die of laughter. It’s addicting and highly entertaining. It’s a solid page turner. So sit back and enjoy the ride of a lifetime.

Standalone told in a dual POV with an HEA. I STRONGLY recommend this story.

4.5-Stars

When you do an all-nighter, there’s gotta be a reason, right? Swan’s second novel in The Miles High Club series now marks her as one of my fave authors. Her unique take on the characters' dynamics, highlighting each and everyone’s flaws, strengths, and goals was quite brilliant. Two things that threw me was how quickly I become involved in their lives and how the entire story felt so lifelike and even though there’s quite a mix of roles, Swan pulled it off to a tee.

Throughout the book, the title niggled me. I didn’t want the worse to happen but actually, a takeover isn’t even the tip of the iceberg. I soon got to learn about Claire Anderson’s concern for her floundering company founded by her late husband. Reading about her determination to make it work and keep her head above water while bringing up three boisterous lads she loves unconditionally is something else. As the story progressed, the author gave me what felt like a bird’s eye view of her daily struggles, and I couldn’t help admiring her courage.

‘I’m suffering in a world of responsibilities.’

Claire and Tristen Miles have little in common and starting off on the wrong foot doesn’t help matters. Bachelor extraordinaire and astute entrepreneur, he always gets what he wants inside and out of the bedroom. Five years younger than her, the last thing Tristen wants is complications...but I could see that coming! In her eyes he’s a ruthless businessman, in his she’s as stubborn as a mule. Handling their scorching attraction for Claire means stepping over the line emotionally...the question is, will she be able to cope with these new feelings!

“Nice guys come last, Claire.”

Observing Claire trying to overcome her grief saddened me. This huge setback essentially puts the blockers on her even contemplating a serious relationship. She’s awfully protective of her kids which is understandable; however, in the thick of it, I thought she should have trusted Tristen more. Emotions run high, misunderstandings abound, and this puts her in a spot...not telling you with whom though. One thing’s for sure, I found myself laughing my socks off in one scene and sobbing my heart out in the next.

‘I see him, the man the world sees, the heartless takeover king in the expensive suit.
The one who’s dead inside.
This time, they’re right...I am.’

This isn’t just Claire and Tristen’s story, the kids taking up a huge part of it. I loved the way the author put a spin on their feeling; how they look after their mum, and how the oldest with all of his traits and attributes won me over with such ease. And his two younger brothers who have their own issues are simply adorable. But the plentiful good-natured teasing and off the charts banter lightens up some pretty awkward situations.

“My kids are off limits and not up for discussion with you.”

Narrated from a dual perspective, Tristen’s voice is heard so strongly that at times, my heart either bled for him or I wanted to give him kudos. Claire going hot and cold when memories are triggered irritated me a tad and although she’s far from heartless, I couldn’t understand why she refused to see what was in front of her eyes. I wasn’t so keen on the author’s repetition of how Tristen looked; nevertheless, this didn’t stop me enjoying the book to the hilt. My recommendation: read The Takeover. Bravo, Swan!

I absolutely LOVED The Takeover!

Whenever I dive into one of TL's books, I know that I will have a commanding, possessive red hot male and her female characters are even more badass. Her female leads have a take no prisoner approach and I am seriously not putting up with your arrogant ass attitude lol. Claire is no different!

But what I didn't expect was to laugh. And god did I giggle so much with this story. The secondary characters are a fantastic addition to this story and quite frankly - add another layer of entertainment in reading Tristan & Claire's journey.

Not only did TL create the perfect alpha male with Tristan Miles, she gave him a heart of gold too!

The Takeover is the perfect, all-around feel good read! And most us can say we need that kind of escape - it certainly was one for me.

I wanted to love this book so bad. I loved the first one and liked this one but I found Tristan to be kind of intolerable at times. I don’t know if it was meant to be playful bickering but a lot of times found his dialogue rude and wouldn’t put up with it. Don’t tell me to shut up! But his relationships with her kids was precious and the chemistry between the main characters was very steamy!

I have only read a couple books from TL Swan and this is by far my favourite! I didn't want it to end and miss them all so much already!!! Tristan is just adorable and his heart is full of love. The interaction he has with certain characters made my heart swell and at times bought me to tears too. Perfection!! You will not be disappointed with this book, it is a must read!!

What an amazing novel from author T.L. Swan. The Takeover grabs you right from the beginning and the impassioned roller-coaster ride never lets up. Main characters Claire Anderson and Tristan Miles evolve into two brand new people by the end of the story. This is the second book from Ms. Swan's The Miles High Club series and it can be enjoyed as a standalone.

Claire is the CEO of Anderson Media, which was founded by her beloved late husband. Since his passing, Claire has worked night and day to keep the business afloat, but as each year goes by, it just gets harder and harder. She feels obligated to continue her late husband's dream of passing down his legacy to their children. In addition, she is raising her three boys alone, which comes with its own struggles.

Tristan is a wealthy man and is head of acquisitions for his family's multi-million dollar media company. His reputation for being ruthless in the boardroom is legendary. Claire and Tristan first meet when Tristan offers to purchase Claire's company before it goes into bankruptcy. At the time, Claire thought Tristan to be a snake. As they get to know each other, she learns that Tristan is a loving man and only wants the best for both her and her boys.

This is a well-written book about courage and desire, that twists and turns in all the right places. Claire and Tristan's love was tangible and their sexy times were quite hot. Tristan's ability to take care of those that he loves was amazingly meaningful and insightful. The secondary characters, family members and friends, added a lot of genuineness to the plot. This book was quite humorous at times with many laugh out loud moments. The emotional scenes were heartrending. Overall, a solid romantic read that should not be missed.

This is the first book I’ve read by TL Swan and it definitely won’t be the last. In fact I didn’t realise The Takeover was the second book in a series so after finishing reading this book which, fortunately for me, can be read as a standalone I’ve now downloaded the first book and have no doubts I’ll be working my way through her backlist.

In The Takeover Claire Anderson is barely holding it together. After being suddenly widowed at a relatively young age, the only thing that is keeps her going is the desperation she has to hold onto the company her husband built up until their three sons are old enough to take control. Tristan Miles, head of acquisitions for his family empire and with a history of snatching up struggling businesses, now has his sights firmly fixed on Anderson Media and once he meets Claire that isn’t all he’s determined to acquire

I absolutely loved this book. It has elements of a hate/love relationship/second chance romance with a ‘when opposites attract’ vibe as on paper Claire is so far not Tristan’s type. His usual girlfriend would generally be some willowy model type who would put him first every time Here Claire is, an older woman, albeit barely, a widowed mother of three with all the entailing responsibilities that comes with them - he’ll always come last in her priorities. He should be running for the hills thanking his lucky stars for his narrow escape but he wants more and somehow they work as a couple. The chemistry between them is off the charts and I loved how they were able to laugh with each other. The dual point of view the author writes in means we get to see both sides of the story as their relationship develops. There were moments in this book that had me laughing out loud mostly those involving the interaction between Tristan and Claire’s sons especially when he got down to their level but then the mood would change as he sees just how deeply they all still grieve for their father in their own separate ways. This book was a definite joy to read and one I suspect I’ll be happy to reread again and again.

Catch me, I'm swooning hard!

Oh my! Have you ever read a book that makes you crazy?! It makes you horny, angry, lusty, enraged, turned on, turned out, turned up, happy, sad, mad, swoon, frustrated, wanting to shake someone by their neck while applying enough pressure to diminish their airway but not completely cut it off!?! Huh, so it's just me?

The Takeover is more than it's blurb. Tristan is more than he appears. This story is MORE. What starts as an end becomes a prologue. I know that made zero sense to you...but Tristan and Claire start with an end date. They start with an end but it's really just the beginning.

The Takeover is beautiful, deep, and not without the naughty parts that TL Swan is known for. Fall for Tristan, love a wizard, teach a boy to be a man, and learn all about Tricky. TL Swan is going to have you crying, smiling, and fully embracing the tick tock.

Just be careful about picking your favorite Miles because they are more waiting in the wings...

Dibs on Tris!!!!!!

Who would have thought that Tristan Miles the the arrogant, heartless, self entitled womanizer that we met in the Stopover would fall for a widow, older than him and who has three children!

Claire who owns a failing publishing house started by her husband. Tristan wants to acquire it to add to the portfolio of companies that he devours and spits out at a ridiculous profit. What starts out as a stand-off as Claire refuses to sell quickly becomes more when they meet again at a conference in France. To his total amazement Tristan is besotted with Claire and wants to continue their relationship but Claire knows that it will never work between them as their lives are so different and she is still mourning her husband.

When Tristan turns up unexpectedly at Claire's house, I had the biggest laugh that I have had in a long time. The scene where he meets Claire's boys is absolutely hysterical, poor Tristan is totally and literally floored and so out of his depth but the way that he recognizes the boys needs and responds to it is heartwarming.

This is a beautiful love story about two people struggling to find common ground to make their relationship work. It really is a struggle for them both as their lives are total polar opposites but Ms Swan does does an amazing job of weaving together a story that slowly makes them see that they could have a future together.

The love scenes were passionate and sexy and you have to fall in love with Alpha Tristan. Claire is not a walk over, she has had a difficult life bringing up her boys and is not about to let someone else in without a fight. Each of her boys have personalities that you will fall in love with but they will also break your heart.

All in all an incredible book which is bound to be in the top 10 of best releases this year. Another win for Ms Swan and not to be missed. Thank you to Netgalley and Ms Swan for the chance to read it before release.

A well written fast paced read, I enjoyed it from start to finish. Claire, widowed for five years, gets more than she thought she wanted, when she hooks up with Tristan, billionaire takeover tycoon, for a supposed temporary fling. Neither could deny their connection, but Claire has three boys and they always come first. Tristan isn't quite what he let's the world believe, ruthless/heartless in business. He's hot for sure, but his devotion is true, and zeroed in on Claire and her three dear hearts, who were the very devil sometimes lol. This had all the emotions that go with the growing pains of a new relationship, and the weight of leaving behind an old life.
It was realistic in it's entirety, and had me laughing or sniffling, my heart felt everything. No filters really, hitting insecurities, strengths, needs, wants, frustrations to pretty much all aspects.
A great journey with an HEA that just rocked!!
I received an A R C through Netgalley and am happily and voluntarily leaving my own thoughts

Holy buckets, this book was incredible and so very enjoyable and fun to read! Wow, I thoroughly enjoyed the first book in this series, the Stopover, but Tristan Miles and Claire Anderson absolutely stole my heart in this second book. I knew after having met Tristan in The Stopover, that his story would be interesting, but I had no idea it would totally exceed my expectations. Tristan Miles is the real deal and without giving anything away (because you must read this book!), his POV at the end of Chapter 9 and the beginning of Chapter 10 had me in tears from laughing so hard. OMG, the way this author captured Tristan's thoughts was hysterical! And Claire is my favorite type of female lead--strong, sexy, forgiving, brave and courageous--and her 3 boys are true boys--I loved that they weren't perfect little children. Tristan Miles always gets what he wants, but I think this time he had to really work for it! This was one of my favorite reads of the summer and I can't wait for the next Miles brother's story from this author. I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC for NetGalley.

5+ Stars for this hilarious and steamy romance!

This is my favorite T L Swan book! In fact, it is in my top book for this year ... and I read a LOT! I was laughing so hard that I had to put the book down because I couldn't see the words for tears! When Tristan went to Claire's house for the first time ... makes me laugh all over again. Normally in books when there are kids, they are young, sweet and everybody just loves them ... not a 13-year old (Wiz) and 19-year old (Fletch) from hell! They sure put Tristan through the paces ... and I love how he got back at them. Then the 9-year old (Tricky) was just a little sweetie ... trying to make up for his brothers. Not only did Tristan worm his way into Claire's life ... he was totally in her boys lives as well. All the characters are just so great that I didn't want this book to end because I couldn't wait to see what would happen next.

And then there are the steamy scenes ... WOW, THEY ARE STEAMY! The heat between Tristan and Claire was burning the pages up. Then Ms. Swan took me in a whole new direction and I was so emotional that the tears came again ... but these weren't tears of joy. I went thought all the emotions while reading this book and to me ... that is the sign of a really good book when you can feel such different emotions from one chapter to the next.

The book starts with Tristan trying to takeover Claire's media company ... the one her deceased husband built. When they meet at a conference several months later, the sparks fly between them ... you know, that fine line between hate and love. Claire thinks it's just a one-night stand, but when Tristan keeps calling her, she is stunned that he (a handsome 34-year old playboy) would even want to go out with her (a 38-year old mother of three wild boys) ... when he normally goes out with models and actresses. But the heart wants what the heart wants! This is an EXCELLENT read and I HIGHY recommend this book!

I received an early copy courtesy of Amazon Publishing UK through NetGalley in exchange for a honest review.

This is the first book of this author for me, but definitely is not going to be the last one. I have already purchased two more!
There are no words for all the emotions this book aroused in me. The dialogs between Claire and Tristan mostly made me rear with laughter, but sometimes it also made me want to cry. They are beautiful together, so perfect for each other!
Claire is a widow with three boys (17, 13 and 9 years old). She lost her husband five years ago and she is struggling to keep his company floating. Tristan wants to buy the company. She refuses. WITH STYLE!
When I saw the name of the book I thought it was going to be about the takeover of the company, Anderson Media, but I was quite wrong. It was sooo much more.
I highly recommend this book. There are great sex scenes, the interaction between Tristan and Claire´s kids are super fun and emotional. It´s like a roller coaster of feelings. All of them make you feel deeply engaged to this family.
If you like smoking hot romance with deep development, this is your cup of tea.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own

After reading the previous book in The Miles High Club, I was looking forward to the Tristan’s story. And T.L. Swan didn't disappoint! The Takeover gave me ALL. THE. FEELS! It's the perfect combination of heart, humor and heat. The storyline hooked me from the very beginning, and the characters, despite their flaws, are wonderful and relatable. This is one of those long stories that you devour in one sitting and you never get bored because it's so deliciously good!

Dear Lord, Tristan is just perfect. Tall, dark and hansome, with just the right amount of alpha. He knows what he wants and he chases it. He oozes confidence and he can be cocky at times, but he’s so charismatic and charming that he stole my heart instantly. I loved how determined he was to win Claire over and how protective he was. And how he won the hearts of her children? All the swoons!
Claire is very admirable. As a single mom of 3 with a failing company to run, she was a personification of strength. I loved that she first thought about the kids and her obligations, and didn't act like a lust-driven teen, even though her attraction to Tristan was palpable.
These two shared a sizzling chemistry, but had a lot of obstacles to overcome to find their HEA. Their journey to that point was filled with drama, but also humor. I adored how Tristan kept fighting for Claire, how they couldn't stay away from each other and how they both strived for their love. They were incredibly passionate and their shared moments were insanely hot.

The Takeover is the perfect story for fans of contemporary romance. This storyline is so authentic and the characters are so amazing, that you got immediately sucked. I just loved that Tristan and Claire’s love story is not all rainbows and roses, that it’s filled with highs and lows, drama and fun, passion and angst. I'm looking forward to the next Miles brother. I'm curious what the author has up her sleeve for him!

I am incredibly shocked at how much I enjoyed and loved this story! Seriously, this book was perfect (except for a few small details but that has more to do with my preferences than anything objective) from start to finish, with a writing that keeps you hooked from the first chapter.

Much of this perfection has to do with the two main characters, Claire and Tristas, who were the perfect complement to the other, balancing their personalities because in reality they were opposites. This book was HILARIOUS, I can't remember how many times I almost cried with laughter, but it was also sweet and heartwarming. I finished reading it with a smile on my lips and a happy heart.

The Takeover is book 2 in The Miles High Club and this time it's love for Tristan Miles. So before I start my review let me say the first 30% was not my favorite. I loved Tristan immediately but Claire was hard for me to like, she was bitter and judgmental in my opinion. It would have been very easy for me to put down the book and not picked it up again, but unfortunately I would have missed out on a wonderful story. So basically Claire is a widow of 5 years with three sons who is struggling to keep herself afloat and keep his dream company going for their sons. Enter Tristan who wants to takeover the company and lets just say their first meeting doesn't go as planned. Six months later they find themselves in France for a conference and let's say sparks definitely fly and they spend lots of time together. When they get back Tristan wants more and Claire doesn't which begins Tristan's determination to have her. For me this is when the story takes a turn and I fall completely in love. Tristan meets Claire's 3 sons and their first interaction is hilarious. Each boy is desperate for something and I adored how Tristan figured out what they each needed. He was such an amazing man and I love how the boys grew to love him. They all made me cry at some point with their interactions with Tristan. I think the one that got me the most was when Fletcher told Claire the boys believed their Dad sent Tristan to them. Now Claire is still not my favorite she breaks Tristan's heart more than once which was not ok with me but in the end it all worked out. Overall this was an awesome story and Tristan has become one of my favorites.

As always TL Swan never fails to give you an amazing read! I absolutely love Tristian and Claire. Claire is strong and independent and Tristian is swoony and perfect. The banter between the two of them is just great. However, my favorite part of the book was Tristian meeting Harry for the first time. I laughed so hard I cried, for a solid 5 minutes. This book is steamy, filled with heartbreak, and humor. I loved this book and would so recommend it!

*3.5 stars*

This was so, so, so much better than the first book, The Stopover. I was amazed at the major improvement in the characters, and I actually cared for the hero and heroine.

Tristan takes such great effort into inserting himself into the Anderson household, and he and Claire communicated until the end if they had problems. I thought the conflict was great, because I see where both of them are coming from and both their perspectives and arguments were very valid, in my opinion. Tristan wants them to be his family in life and on paper, Whereas Claire feels major guilt letting another man into their hearts. The children were great, too, and I’m glad it wasn’t predictable such as if all the kids loved him from the very start and would go against their mom once the couple starts fighting.

Those were the good parts of the book. Now the bad parts: there were a lot of conveniences thrown in to move the plot forward and the pacing felt slightly off at times, I also wasn’t too sure about Fletcher and Tristan being a little comfortable talking about girls, especially since Tristan is his boss. There wasn’t enough development with the family, I think, and the conflict with Tristan’s mother felt rushed.

Overall, such an improvement from book 1 and I think TL Swan did such a great job with the single parent trope in this book.

This is the second book in the Miles High Club by TL Swan.

I will tell you one thing, you definitely get your money’s worth when you pick up a Swan romance. There is so much packed into this thing that is is like watching reality tv in real time. Prepare some Kleenex for the end though since these books always bring out the waterworks right before the conclusion. You get chocked up and teary-eyed since you become so invested in the relationship and them having their happily ever after.

This is a book about trust and knowing that what you feel is never wrong.

Tristian Miles seems like the world’s biggest player when this starts. But this player has a heart or gold and has a mission to fix everyone that comes across his path. I really felt for Claire Anderson. She had to move on after her husband’s death with her three boys. I never thought she would finally see the light where Tristian was concerned. She loved him through most of the book but wasn’t willing to go farther and I really couldn’t figure out why. I liked how Fletcher summed it up in the end and that made the whole book come together for me.

Just one great read. A bit too long for my taste but it just gave me that much more juicy goodness.

If you like contemporary romance with a bit of intrgue, definitely check this one out. You won’t be disappointed.

I received this as an ARC (Advanced Reader Copy) in return for an honest review. I thank NetGalley, the publisher and the author for allowing me to read this title.

I took my time savoring every word of this story.
I laughed, I got a little upset over some of the things Claire said but under the circumstances I did my best to see her point of view as interestingly written by TL Swan.

I absolutely LOVED Tristan after getting to know him. His quick wit and way of handling things with Claire and her boys was both funny and heart warming.

The plot development was cleverly written and the characters evolved in a very well developed way. I thoroughly enjoyed this whole family dynamic tale!

This is a difficult book to rate. Parts of it are 5 stars & a couple of parts are 3-ish stars.
I have to say that I had a hard time with Claire's mercurial moods. She did have her hands full raising 3 VERY active sons for the last 5 years. Claire's husband passed away & she was left with the family business. The hero is Tristan Miles (brother of book 1 hero Jameson). Tristan was dreamy from the beginning. Claire had mixed reactions to him. I loved it when she was ON when together with Tristan.
She'd push back a lot, especially when it came to her boys. Claire's sons were very realistically little devils at times. Especially the middle one, Harry. The youngest one, Patrick was a little cutie.
I listened to the audio and CJ Bloom and Sebastian York were very good. CJ & SebYo are great and doing the kids' voices. I especially enjoyed how SebYo did Harry and Patrick's voice. OMG, look out for Harry. Tristan had to be on his toes with that one! A majority of the POV was Claire (CJ). I thought that Claire should have had some grief counseling after losing her husband. She wasn't toxic or anything, but her family was somewhat dysfunctional. The kids were running Claire ragged & had it in for Tristan with he came along. On the other hand, their antics were a crack up. OMG they put Tristan through the wringer. I'd say he's a saint, or a martyr-or both.
Claire should have been thanking her lucky stars. Not for being grateful, but she did have a lot of resistance to starting over. Why did Tristan want all that? Claire and the boys started to grow on me. The story improved quite a bit-which I was happy about. Claire really needed her ah ha moment(s). I was holding on for that! I had my ups and downs with this book. It really kept me intrigued. Claire's sons played large supporting roles. Another supporting character- Samia- Tristan's Admin was so funny. Could she have a book too?
I really enjoy this author's writing!

THE TAKEOVER is a feel-good romance filled to the brim with steam, fun, drama and loads of emotion – in short: The perfect book for these trying times, especially if you need a laugh. I’m not one to easily laugh out loud while reading – but this one had me snorting … more than once!

It’s the story of Claire, a widowed mother of three boisterous sons, and Tristan, a womanizing, powerful and arrogant businessman. A lethal combination, especially when he wants to buy her deceased husband’s firm out from under her …

It’s a beautifully heartfelt journey, dealing with the struggles of a family after the loss of their loved one. Grief and heartbreak, mixed with love and passion and laughter, plus one special person to bring this faltering family back together. And oh, how I loved the interactions between Tristan and Claire’s kids!

Now, I’m ready for book three.

TL Swan has done it again. I love all of her books and didn't think anyone could replace my love for her Stanton series but this book did it! I love Tristan and Claire's story! I can't tell you how many times I laughed and cried while reading this. I love that Claire is different from all her other heroines. She is older and a widow with children. Tristan is the playboy who has such a good heart down deep and can't deny his attraction to Claire no matter how much he tries. Her kids are hilarious with how protective they are of their mother and the interactions with them and Tristan will have you laughing out loud which we all need at this point in 2020! The emotions will run deep in this one with some periods of heartbreak while they find their way through this relationship so have your tissues ready. One of my favorite reads this year by far!

The Takeover by T L Swan

Claire is a widow running her dead husband’s media company that’s starting to flounder. Her 3 children are her world. She meets Tristan when he offers to takeover the ailing company. Both are very strong characters Tristan wants to help people and Claire wants to prove she can do it herself and is invincible so she turns him down flat. By chance they meet up 6 months later at a conference and have a fling- then the fun begins.

Great story with some very hilarious but heart wrenching moments so very true to life situations. A can’t put down read.

Jesus...... This was so hard to read. The characters were just hard to connect with and in the end the whole book was so predictable with just a lot of sex. And him being 4 years younger than her, I don’t know why it was an issue but it had a happy ending so perhaps, you will like it but not for me.

The Takeover, by T. L. Swan, is the second book in the Miles High Club series, and features Claire, a 38 year old widow and mother of three boys, and Tristan, a 34 year old wealthy and successful part-owner of a rival media business. As Claire struggles to keep the advertising company she and her late husband founded (she wants to pass it to her sons), she meets Tristan and turns down the offer for his company to purchase hers and bail her out. Months later, the two are both at a business conference and the sexual tension is off the charts! After a few rounds in the hotel room, they agree to spend a 'just this once' romantic weekend together in Paris, with plenty of time in the bedroom. So Claire is surprised, back at home and back in her day to day life, when playboy Tristan wants to pursue their relationship...

For me, this book started off strongly, setting up a rivalry and a multitude of practical hurdles this relationship would have to vault to succeed. I was totally on board with the 'hate-to-love' trope, and I thought the idea of a blended family situation was intriguing. However, after the characters return to the U.S. and are trying to determine what a real relationship would look like, the characters became whiny and annoying, and the writing quality took a nose dive.
Claire "giggled" after everything Tristan said, he insinuated himself into her life and took a hand in making parenting decisions without ever having a discussion about parenting with Claire. Tristan went from being very reluctant to having anything to do with Claire and her family to suddenly being at her house all the time and building model rockets with her sons. He gave sex advice to the oldest, and babysat the younger ones literally when Claire had no idea he was even at her home--and yet when she comes home to find him there cuddling with her youngest on the couch, she is just so pleased to see such a domestic scene. He basically goes into the relationship with the idea that he'll "put up with" her snot-nosed brats because there's just "something special" about her.
The big conflict/drama that happened in the last 25% was stupid, in my opinion--I don't understand Claire's reaction or resistance to the subject Tristan brings up. Despite multiple attempts to discuss the problem, Claire refuses to budge or even explain her reasoning, and so they break up and are both absolutely devastated and heartbroken. And then the resolution just happens--they both say 'okay, you win' and that's the end. It was super frustrating to read!
This book is long, and I felt every page. The sexy times were pretty steamy, though not always to my taste (re: seemed rough?). Overall I felt that the writing was simplistic and contradictory, and the characters seemed flat, immature, and annoying.
I've not read anything else by this author, but would be willing to give her another shot. Unfortunately for me, The Takeover rates a measly 2 stars.

I actually had to buy the book because I wasn't able to adjust the font. It was extremely small. I asked for help but didn't receive any.. I was looking forward to read the.book. it was very frustrating due to the font problem. I loved everything about this and didn't want it to end.
I totally related with Claire and watching her evolve throughout the story was amazing.. She was very independent and very protective of her children.
Tristan was definitely a hero! He was protective and possessive and I loved that he went after Claire and eventually he won Claire’s heart.
For most of the book I smiled at the humor.. I loved the way Tristan meets and deasl with Claire’s boys. When the drama picks up I found myself crying as they were dealing with pain.
This is a long book but I did skimmed thru it a bit. I read three quarters of the book fast as my eyes were hurting because of the font. I have to say that am going to buy the book so am not rushed. I do recommend the book.
I have to apologize for taking so long on the review. Love this author.!

If you love single mother romances then The Takeover is the book for you! TL Swan always writes books that grab my attention and this book fits the bill. Claire is a widow and mother of 3 boys struggling to keep her company afloat for her children's future. She runs into Tristan whom she grows an immediate distate to, but Tristan wants Claire. They encounter each other again several months later where Claire's feelings start to thaw and evolve. I loved that Tristan had to work for Claire and their relationship and it wasn't instalove for her. Their paths continue to cross in funny ways and Tristan tries to win not just Claire's heart but those of her sons as well. Tristan is swoon worthy and protective like many of Swan's alphas and he genuinely tries to connect with her children. To me Tristan really shines in this book, but Claire is also very likeable. The children are realistically resistant to their mom moving on. This book has steam, humor, some drama and will make you laugh throughout

This was a longer read than you usually get in this genre.
Claire is a widow bringing up 3 boys and trying to keep her husband’s company alive.
Tristan is a mogul at the biggest agency around who wants to buy the company.

This is a great story, there’s a lot of OTT behavior and quite a few moments where you want to shake some sense in to people but it was an excellent story. The only thing missing was an epilogue which I was desperate for.

It definitely is fantasy land but it’s lovely escapism!

5/5 ⭐

It’s official this book owns me. Normally I’m not a big fan of the widow single mom trope but let’s be honest is there anything T.L. Swan can’t do? In the takeover we follow Tristen and Claire. Both of them have their own company. One of them is struggling and that’s the reason for their first meeting.
Claire is a widow with 3 boys. Tristen is a player. But oh God.. these two are perfect for each other.
I adored this story more than anything (and the fact that we saw a little Spencer Jones didn’t hurt)
As I said before I normally don’t read the widow single mom trope but this was EVERYTHING. The way you see Tristen care for not just Claire but her boys is going to make your heart melt. Both of them did things at some point I didn’t agree on but to be honest.. I could see why they did what they did…
Tristen Miles is (after Spencer Jones) the best book hero I have seen in a long time. And not (just) because of how he treats the heroine but because of what he wants for the people around him. From the moment he opens up his heart to Claire’s family he gives it his all to everybody in that family.
I could go on and on about the takeover but it was definitely worth reading, this book is going to be added to my ‘can always re-read list’

The story is awesome. I loved most of the characters especially Tristan Miles. He is my new book boyfriend. There were many things that didn't work for me.
1. Claire Anderson. I could not connect with her in the entire book. The initial interactions between her and Tristan were in a business meeting and you don't go and call people soul-sucking bastards on their face even if they are in such formal settings. She seemed very confused and stubborn.
2. The end of this book did not work for me. Tristan did not deserve to leave his family business in order to shape Anderson Media.
3. Fletcher telling his mom that Tristan is chosen and sent to them by there late father to take care of them. Seriously!

This is the first book I have read by this author and I loved it so much that I went and downloaded the audio to listen to as I’m writing my review. I really can’t believe Ms Swan has not crossed my radar before now and I’m certainly going to rectify that because I also downloaded book 1 in The Miles High Club Series, The Stopover, looks like I’m heading for a binge read....
This book ticked all my boxes, I laughed or should I say snorted at the antics of the children and Tristan, I fell hard and fast for the swoon worthy hero, I loved the sassy, strong, single mum Claire and I adored those 3 boys who will do what they have to in order to protect their mum, the chemistry is intense and the banter witty and funny, I cried at the sad times in this book but every tear was worth it because this story will stay with me for a long time and I will be re reading this book and listening again to the audio when I’m looking for a feel good moment. If you are looking for the perfect read or listen look no further than this hilarious, steamy gem from the very talented Ms Swan.

5 Star review of The Takeover (The Miles High Club #2) by T.L.Swan

How is it that I have not come across T.L.Swan before? I fell hard and fast for successful businessman Tristan Miles. He ticked every box for me, even though there were times that I wanted to smack him across the back of his head. Claire Anderson is a widow, trying to keep her company afloat and look after her three sons. Claire grew on my, although there were times that she frustrated me.
I loved everything about Tristan and Claire once they finally got together. Although if it were up to Fletcher, Harry and Patrick I’m not sure they would have ever got together. The interaction with Tristan and her boys had me laughing out loud on numerous occasions.
There were some sad parts to this story but the fun and outrageous behaviour of the boys had me in tears as they did there best to block and payback not only Tristan but one another.
I loved the relationship that Claire had with her sons and once they finally accepted Tristan, the relationship that developed between them brought tears to my eyes. This was a well written story that ticked all the boxes for me.
I received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley

A book that will have you in tears of joy and sorrow, a love story not only between adults but also between a very reluctant adult and children and don't worry, there's plenty of heat!

This was my first time reading stories by this author; and it definitely want be the last. This story has all the required elements of a successful story. I really liked how each relationship was treated. It’s emotional, sexy, drama, family issues, and humorous with a very believable storyline. I can’t wait to finish the series,

TL Swan released two books within a month and I couldn’t wait to read The Takeover which is the second Book in the Miles High Club series.

This book is about Claire Anderson and Tristan Miles. Claire is a widow with three boys and tries everything to not lose her husband's media company. Here comes Tristan in the picture. He is a sexy and rich business man and owns Miles Media with his brothers. His goal is to buy other companies and he set his eye on Anderson Media. Claire refuses to take his phone call, but at some point she gives in and meets with him for lunch to hear his offer. But he doesn’t want to help her, he wants to take over the company. Of course she says no and storms out.

Six months later her good friend and assistant convinced her to take part in a conference in France to relax. But what she didn’t see coming was that Tristan Miles is a guest speaker. She tries everything to avoid him while he tries everything to talk to her alone. You can feel the tension between those two and at some point Claire gives in and has a one hot night with Tristan. When he leaves the next day to Paris he invites her to spend the weekend with him, which she accepts. But after their little trip they both go back to their normal lives.

They can’t stop thinking of each other, but Claire knows there will never be more between them. But when Tristan sets his eye on something he tries everything to get it. And he set his eye on Claire. He goes to her house and is greeted by her three sons - Fletcher (Fletch) is 17, Harry (Witz) is 13 and the youngest Patrick (Tricky) is 9 years old. I am sure you will love those kids because they are special in their own way.

The first meeting between Tristan and Claire’s kids is absolutely hilarious and I just couldn’t stop laughing everytime Tristan has an encounter with one of the kids.
Even though he didn’t get off the right feet with the kids he still wants to be with Claire and takes everything in his power that she will be his.

OMG! THIS BOOK IS EVERYTHING! TL Swan totally nailed it and I wanted the story never to end! I just couldn’t put this book down. This story gave me so many feelings. The chemistry between those two are off the charts! It’s romantic and so steamy! And the relationship between Tristan and the kids is so hilarious. As their relationship progresses you just want to swoon! I fell so in love with Tristan and I want to marry this guy!
I highly recommend everyone to read this book ASAP!

In T.L. Swan's 'The Takeover", Claire Anderson, a widow and a mother of three, goes to toe-to-toe against Tristan Miles to keep her late husband's company afloat. With the help of this younger, arrogant, wealthy man, Claire learns what it means to be herself again.

Truly, I loved this book. Let's start with the characters; from the beginning, you are invested in them and their lives. Claire, in my opinion, is written so well, she feels absolutely real. Her struggles after losing her husband, trying to salvage his company, and raise three sons feels like a weight on your shoulders, too. She has a sense of humor and strength that shines through all of that, making you root for her to learn to be herself again, but also let herself be loved like Tristain knows she deserves. As she navigates this all, we are right there with her and all her choices, even if they seem illogical or fear-based, are true to her character.

In comparison, Tristain's character was so unexpected—in the best way possible. Sure, he was the standard arrogant, young, hot-blooded male that is not used to someone telling him no, but he was so much more that. When he was with Claire, his personality shone through; we saw that he was more than the cold businessman—he was funny, sweet, and loving. The way he loved Claire was truly heartwarming, but also realistic. When Tristain is faced with the reality of her being a single mom, he ducks out. Until he realizes that she's what he wants, thus learning to embrace her life and, most importantly, wanting it as his own, too.

Honestly, I can't stop thinking about this book. I think it's the first time in a while that I devour a romance novel that feels real. Even when I wasn't reading it, I was desperate to get back to it and see how the rest was going to unfold for Claire, Tristain, and the boys.

This is the second book I have read by this author. The first one was The Stopover which is the first book in The Miles High Club, Tristian was a character that appeared in that book and I knew I wanted more of him my prayers were answered with this and I was not disappointed.

I loved these characters Tristian knew what he wanted and he went after it and Claire was a strong women who wasn't a pushover.their chemistry was poured off the page and I ate it all up and the banter between them had me laughing out loud (especially the first time he met her boys). I also really loved that Claire wasn't a the typical heroine who has a perfect body she had hang ups about the way she looked after having kids and it was so refreshing that Tristian didn't care he loved every inch of her and that made Claire love herself too.

Another thing I loved was the kids.as a parent of a boy myself I could relate to the scenes with Claire & them.
and the fact they really made Tristian work for there approval & the relationship he developed with each boy individually was the icing on the cake.
this book wasn't all loves and laughs though it dealt with some tough topics too like loss of a parent/loved one and I really appreciated how that was handled with such care and not brushed over it really played a part in the book overall this book was a bit hit with me and I cant wait to see more of them in future books.

As their are 4 brothers I'm hoping the other 2 get a book each too and i cant wait for the next.

The takeover

<i>The book was provided to me for an honest review by NetGalley</i>

In the book, we read about the story of Claire Anderson. A widow with three sons – Fletch, Harry, and Patrick. She can’t accept the death of her husband, so her PA recommends to her going to a creative seminar. Where she sees her enemy – Tristan Miles, an heir of a big media company. The thing with them is that he destroys smalls and dying companies and made them his and that almost happened with her firm.

So we can see their relationship evolve. During the seminar and the time after it, from enemies to friends, to lovers, to something more.

The first few chapters were really badly written, I don’t know if that’s the editor’s problem, but I really didn’t like them. The thing is the book really gets better, and I almost had no more problems with the writing (a few things here and there, at the end).

Again at the beginning, it looked like I read this book from Wattpad, but with the progression and that’s getting better.

The characters:

I’m gonna start with the hero – Tristan “soul-sucking bastard” Miles. And I just gonna say I abso-bloody-lutely loved this character. He was perfect in every aspect. He was cold and dark at the beginning, but with every read chapter, he got cuter and cuter. He was caring, nice and kind, beautiful, hot, dirty, charming. And he definitely is every women’s dream. So I can’t say anything bad for him.

But now we turn our sigh to our heroine – Claire Anderson. And I rarely say that I hate a character, but I truly and deeply hate her, like almost despise her. There were only a few things I liked about her - that she was fun, and made Tristan happy, but I hated everything other than that.

In my opinion, she was a bad mother, because her kids were awful. Like truly monsters (at the beginning). She changed her mind like three years old, and she was way too annoying. I just couldn’t stand her. And the last three chapters made me hate her even more (And I’m not even gonna start talking about her selfishness).

I know people will talk about how her children were this way because they lost their father, but they just lacked discipline and trust (and I’m sure you know what I’m talking about). <spoiler> And while all she was talking about was how her children didn’t have a father figure when Tristan purposed to adopt them, she fucking broke up with him</spoiler>.

The plot twist was really unexpected, I suspected that there was going to be a scandal, but what it turned out to be was just shocking <spoiler> Especially after what Tristan did for her </spoiler>.

Heroine - 1/6

Plot Twist - 4/6
Ending - 5/6
Storyline - 4.5/6

The Takeover by TL Swan is a a sizzling rom com with some mature characters. It took me some time to get the hang of the book as the start felt like a cliche. The story follows a window struggling to keep her late husband's business afloat while their kids grow up to take over it eventually. A rival businessman tries to buy her business but she outright refuses just to hold on to the legacy even though the business is drowning.
The initial image of the characters seem to be mature but as the story progresses they take some really childish decisions. It just made me lose interest and want to get over with the book.
The start of the book was promising but the end felt too rushed like the book had to be completed in a limited number of pages.
Thank you @Netgalley and @AmazonPublishingUK for this read.

It was a very okayish read,

Soooo.. Slightly mixed feelings about this one. I liked it, didn't love it and I honestly don't know why?! I felt like there was something missing, maybe because I didn't feel a connection with the MF Claire?

With that being said, the book was well written, plenty of laugh out loud and heartfelt moments. I adored everything about Claires children's relationship with Tristan, it felt authentic.

I really enjoy this author, her stories are unique. However, this one missed the mark for me. There was nothing wrong with it, I enjoyed it, I just think I expected more.

4 stars!

4.5 stars.
T.L. Swan's writing style and stories have definitely got me... hook, line and sinker!!!
.....and I have to say that.... I think I might have enjoyed this book even more than the first one in the series "The Stopover" and that was really such a terrific read.

This book was certainly one sexy....fun.....and entertaining read......and the perfect escape from everyday life.

Tristan was kind of everything I love in a hero...his personality (smartass), his protectiveness...with a touch of possessiveness...and his willingness to chase after Claire...I really loved that.
not to mention.....
The chemistry between Tristan and Claire was so smokin' HOT!!! ...and need I point out.... this book really did make me laugh an awful lot...it was also sweet at times and I absolutely loved Tristan's introduction to Claire's boys......such priceless entertainment!!!

There was also some heartache and angst....so all in all....a perfectly rounded out story and I really LOVED it.

I loved The Stopover, but only liked this one. It's still got Swan's fantastic writing, so it was an engrossing, steamy read. But I just struggled to connect to the heroine at times. She does some things that really didn't sit right with me, and the ending was kinda terrible. I appreciate the fact that there wasn't a huge amount of OW drama (as with some of the author's other books), but the ending is extremely abrupt and really doesn't paint the heroine in the best light. Still a solid book, but it was missing that special something.

I loved the story of Tristan and Claire. They had off the charts chemistry. I wished I would have read book sooner. I thoroughly enjoyed. I laughed so hard as soon of the shenanigans that he and his boys were up to. No spoilers. Can’t wait to read more from this author.

This was a great read, albeit a bit longer than I had expected. It also had a good deal more depth than I thought it would. So often books tend to gloss over certain aspects of life, but “The Takeover” really looked into the highs and lows of starting a new relationship when both people come with “baggage.” (And let’s face it, who doesn’t?) Tristan Miles seems like just another jerk at the start. He is cocky and arrogant and Vivian is sure that despite her physical response to him, getting to know him better would be a big mistake. She’s a widow with three unruly boys to deal with, along with a huge amount of grief and guilt. She is running the business she and her husband began, and with things not looking so great on the professional front, it’s just one more reason why she and Tristan aren’t a good fit. Slowly but surely though, neither seems to be able to deny the feelings they are starting to have for each other. The book is a glimpse at how two people who seem so wildly different decide to make a relationship between them work. There are highs and lows, and I was eager to read every word to find out how they finally got to their HEA. It wasn’t easy, but it was worth it. I’m really looking forward to reading the other books in the series. Highly recommended.

I'll read any arrogant CEO romance that comes my way, but I generally have pretty moderate expectations. This one blew me away though!

Brief synopsis: Widowed mother Claire Anderson is struggling to keep the media company that she and her late husband started afloat. Tristan Miles, of Miles Media, makes her a takeover offer, and the hate begins. But hate doesn't trump attraction, as we all know, and Claire and Tristan set out on what is supposed to be a short, passionate fling. Lucky for us, feelings develop pretty quickly, but the situation only gets more complicated.

Even while they were supposed to be "hating" each other, Claire and Tristan were so darn cute and sweet that I could've read about them forever. If the writing had been done by anyone else, I would've said they were maybe even too sweet, but TL Swan is such a great writer, so in her hands it was perfect. It was also refreshing to watch a love story develop with characters who are dealing with real, adult problems. Claire is a widow with three older children. Tristan is younger and just beginning to think about settling down. Their conflict was so moving and real that I truly felt it. There were also moments so hilarious that I was worried I was going to wake my husband up while I was reading. Oh, did I mention it was super freaking hot too? Arrogant CEO's always know what they're doing, don't they? I'll definitely be recommending this one to everyone!

A tour de force! The Takeover has everything that one could want in a romance. Pure bliss from beginning to end.

This book blindsided me with its awesomeness. I'd heard it was good but wasn't sure I'd love it. But holy Tristan Fucking Miles it was great.

Claire is a 38-year-old widow & mother of 3 boys, trying to continue her late husband's legacy. She works so hard on his business but can't keep it afloat. Enter Tristan Miles of Miles Media, he takes over business's and brings them back to life. He's ruthless, condescending & rude. Claire instantly hates him. Then he comes to apologise for being an arse and asks her out - hell no!

6 months later, she attends a conference where he is a guest speaker, and things take off from there. A one night stand turned into a few nights stand and then a weekend in Paris. She has some fun but knows neither of them is ready for anything more.
Tristan won't take no for an answer and decided to visit her place where he gets to meet the entire dysfunction household and runs for the hills. Naturally, he can't stay away, and after some hilarious pranks from her middle son, he comes around to them all.

This book had me in tears of laughter and tears of sadness, tears of sweet happiness. I went through all the emotions. There were moments where I wanted to slap Claire for being so stupid and tell Tristan to get off his high horse, but overall I loved this story.

I enjoyed it more than The Stopover.

Do yourself a favour and pick this book up (its on Kindle Unlimited so no excuses!)

I am voluntarily leaving a review for an eARC that was provided to me by Netgalley and Montlake.

CW: Grief, Childhood Grief

The Takeover is a spinoff from The Stopover, and I enjoyed this brother's journey. Tristan wants to take over Claire's business; however, her family's connection is for her family. Tristin and Claire start at different sides of the spectrum until they end up at the same conference. Well, you know what they say " what happens at the conference, stays at the conference." This thought is wrong in so many ways, and we learn why very quickly. Overall, I enjoyed the journey with a few missteps that rubbed me the wrong way.

When I read a TL Swan book I just know that'll be in for a good time. 'Mr. Masters' by her is one of my favorite single parent romances and when I saw that 'The Takeover' also featured that trope I was so excited!

'The Takeover' is about Claire Anderson, lost her husband 5 years ago and single parent to three boys. Her company 'Anderson Media' is on the verge of bankruptcy and on top of that Tristan Miles, who works for 'Miles Media' is hounding her to sell it to him. Well, over her dead body is she selling her late husband's legacy to a shark like Mr. Miles.
Swan writes such good Alpha men and Tristan Miles did not dissappoint! Right from the start Claire and Tristan have insane chemistry even though they do not get along at all. However, when they meet again at a conference, it doesn't take long for that chemistry to explode and they end up having a passionate week together. They both agree it was a one time thing and that there is nothing more for them to explore because they are in different stages of their life. But ofcourse this is not the last of it because they can't seem to get eachother out of their heads.
And when a Miles has set his sight on something, he'll do anything to get what he wants and what he wants is Claire and the three hearts that are connected to her.

I must say that the first 20% of the book I was not loving it, but after that I was hooked! I think it was because I don't really like reading about characters being very opinionated about people without getting to know them. But after finishing the book, I get where Claire was coming from and why she acted that way. My favorite part of the book was Tristan getting to know the kids and building relationships with them! I think I even enjoyed their relationships more than the one he has with Claire but that's the whole reason why I love the single parent trope so much, you get more characters to fall in love with!

Overall, this wasn't my favorite book by TL Swan but I still had a great time reading it! I would say if you like Enemies to lovers/Single Parent trope, you can't go wrong with this one!

This was sweet, I liked the relationship between the two main characters, and I liked seeing Claire and her sons as well. They had an interesting relationship. I thought the plot was interesting, but it took me a bit to really get invested in anything. And even then I wasn't totally invested. the writing was good overall, the romance was good. It felt weird because everyone ive seen talk about it loves it so much, and while I enjoyed myself reading it, this fell a bit flat for me. I think I had my expectations too high, since everyone I saw when I checked out the reviews before starting said it was AMAZING.

An absolute joy from beginning to end. I laughed out loud throughout. The characters are delightful and the dialogue was just superb. I loved everything about it, the storyline, the characters and the hilarious banter throughout the whole story. This book was a definite joy to read and one I suspect I’ll be happy to reread again and again. Happy reading everyone

I would like to start off by saying thank you to @netgalley and Amazon Publishing UK for providing me with an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
.
I don’t even know where to start. This book was awful. I made it about 40% in and had to put it down. At first I felt guilty for not finishing it, this is in fact the first book I have ever marked as “DNF” but I’m so happy I didn’t waste my time.

Claire Anderson is a 38 year-old, widowed mother of three boys. She is also the owner of Anderson Media, her late husbands company, but things aren’t going so well business wise. The company is in trouble and buyers are on the look out. One of these buyers happens to be Tristan Miles. Claire refuses his offer but can’t seem to stop thinking about him.
Six months later Tristian just happens to be a guest speaker at a conference Claire is attending in Paris and I’m sure you can figure the rest out from there.

Tristian was such an awful character. I could not stand him from the second he was introduced. He was creepy, rude, awful to Claire’s kids and very, very possessive. At one point he literally yelled “We’re not over until I say we’re over!” at her, and that was probably around where I stopped reading.

If you’re into trashy romance you might like it but I definitely do not recommend so read at your own risk.

I really tried to get through this one but it was just too all over the place. Just when I was figuring it out it changed directions and I just didn't understand. I would love to give this one another try later on but for right now not for me.

The Takeover is the first book that I've read by this author, and I enjoyed it. I especially loved the "tick tock" moments between Tristan and Claire's son Harry. Their interactions were so entertaining! I look forward to reading more T.L. Swan books.

Can these men get any freaking hotter? In The Takeover Claire Anderson is barely holding it together. After being suddenly widowed at a relatively young age, the only thing that is keeps her going is the desperation she has to hold onto the company her husband built up until their three sons are old enough to take control. Tristan Miles, head of acquisitions for his family empire and with a history of snatching up struggling businesses, now has his sights firmly fixed on Anderson Media and once he meets Claire that isn’t all he’s determined to acquire

What a marvellous book, full of funny and emotional scenes.

Claire is a widow with three sons, Fletcher(17), Harrison(13) and Patrick(9). She is also the CEO of her late husband’s company, Anderson Media and a businessman, Tristan, offers to buy her company. Claire is furious at him for this and even more when he later asks her for a date.
They meet again a few months later on a conference, during which they get close to each other and give into their desire. Claire thought it would be only one time adventure, but when Tristan asks her to go with her to Paris, she can’t say no to him.
They have their weekend of pleasure, but it ends soon and they come back to reality. Claire knows, Tristan can’t be with her because she has too much baggage and knows that Tristan being 4 years younger than her, wants to have his own family, that she’s not able to give.
What doesn’t know is that Tristan will do anything to be with her, even after his first, quite painful encounter with her sons.

I loved the book with my whole heart. It was so funny, Tristan’s moments with Claire’s sons were the best. It was for me the best mixture of comedy and emotional twists that really made the book outstanding.

In Book 2 of The Miles High Club, T. L. Swan provides a story that is the perfect combination of sweet, spicy, touching and laugh-out-loud funny. Tristan Miles, who we met in The Stopover is your typical, if sweet, millionaire businessman playboy. As the brother in charge of buying out other companies, he has a reputation as a ruthless man of business. It is this reputation that colors Claire Anderson's initial impression of Tristan when he makes an offer to buy out her struggling media company. Claire wants nothing to do with Tristan at first. A widow and mother of 3 sons, she sacrifices everything to keep her business afloat, her boys in line, and the memory of her husband alive for her family.
Claire eventually gets to know Tristan in another setting and falls for his charm and good looks, but doesn't believe that there is any future for the two of them. They are at different points in their lives, and she has her boys to think about. Tristan's interactions with the boys prove to be hysterically funny as he experiences suburban life for the first time. In the end, though, Claire and Tristan's story is sweet and fulfilling--just the book to read during 2020!

T L Swan did not disappoint with this book. I loved the first book in this series and was looking forward to this book. Usually the second book in a series is not as good has the first. I must say Tristian and Claire are two of my favorite enemies to lovers characters.

I had never read a book by T L Swan but I feel like she fits in the realm of other romance authors like Vi Keeland etc. While it was an enjoyable read it was nothing extraordinary. Tristan's and Claire's characters were properly developed and their relationship was nice and fun to read. One of the biggest things that speak for this book is the humor. It made me laugh out loud countless times. Definitely a very entertaining read!

I loved this book! It was well written and easy to read. The characters were likeable, especially Tristian! Once I started reading, it was hard to put the book down. There were many LOL moments as well as some tears. Another great read by TL!

Tristan is an expert at taking over companies. Claire is a widow with three teenage sons and a company that is in trouble. She meets Tristan at a meeting for her company that he wants to takeover. She is surprised when Tristan calls her asking for a date after she refuses his offer for her company. She turns down the date too but it's not the last time she will meet Tristan. Six months later she runs into Tristan and the two end up together. A surprise of a storyline but a good read.

This book was such an enjoyable read! Tristan and Claire gave me all the feels as I watched them banter and fall in love. The pacing kept me interested, the characters made (mostly) believable decisions and the HEA made me swoon! Tristan is my favorite of the brothers so far and I loved having a female main character who didn’t just grovel at the feet of a beautiful man but who made him work for her and her boys! Five stars from me! Thank you to NetGalley for providing the book for review!

Writing:🌟🌟🌟🌟
Story: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Total: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

This is the first book I have reviewed for TL Swan and the second I have read (I read and listened to The Stopover several months ago)

I freaking LOVED this story! It manages to be fresh and endearing in a reading world chockfull of alphahole billionaires. Tristan is deliciously dirty but also his own man, one that knows what he wants and who he wants is Claire. He doesn't care about the small age difference, her kids, her job, he is out of fucks and wants what he wants. *Swoon*

Claire's life is complicated AF and she really doesn't have time for all of THAT. but really who can resist this man! *fans self*.

Let me tell you about those damn kids of hers! I usually despise stories that involve kids. It's not because I hate kids. It's because authors very seldom can create an endearing,**real** child character. But I am here to tell you, TL Swan *nails it* OMG,I have never laughed so hard during children scenes *tick tock*

This is a highly entertaining story. You'll fan yourself, laugh out loud and say a couple of "awwwwws"

A word about the writing on this book. My number one pet peeve when it comes to books is repetitive descriptive actions with/from a character (s) *bite lips, scrunch up faces*. This happens several times in this book, so if it bugs you, be forewarned. It happened several times, but it wasn't annoying enough for me to stop reading. I also felt like the ending was a bit rushed.

This is a story you'll enjoy if you like steamy romances, sexy dirty talkers alphas that are gooey inside, and the sassy, brave women that love them.

Five *tick tock* stars to The Take Over!

This just wasn`t for me. I didn`t like the characters much, Tristan some. But i found the insta-love to be too "insta." and it kind of made me bored.

Didn’t love this as much as the first book. I couldn’t get into the story, but that might be because I’m not usually one to read about romances with children involved.

I liked this book A LOT better than the first book in the series, In the first book, the H (Jameson/James/Jim/Whatever he was going by that day) was a total douchebag, and his treatment of the h in the story (the totally ignore and cut her off, then show up out of nowhere begging for another chance crap - not to mention the unforgivable "second stopover" situation - literally gave me ex-relationship PTSD bc I had a boyfriend that did that to me and it seriously messed me up). BUT thankfully, his brother (the H in this story - Tristan) was not at all like that, though there was some begging for chances involved in this one. This story moved quickly, had some elements of humor in it, and was super steamy!

The good: the banter between Tristan and Claire is often witty or even funny. They are in their 30s, and Claire is a widowed mom of three, which you don't often see.

The not-so-good: The drama gets tiresome. They break up and/or fight repeatedly over things that could easily be discussed. Claire has two speeds: whiny or rude. The British expressions come and go--in the same paragraph, it talks about the relationship having an "expiration date" and an "expiry date" and American characters talk about "cotton wool" and "lounges." Also, the characters can all magically get around NYC and Long Island in a half-hour or less.

The ugly: I'm not sure if text was missing from my Kindle ARC, or it was poorly edited, but there are several jumps in time that don't quite make sense. Also, the characters run the following vaguely-explained "empires": Miles Media, Anderson Media, and Ferrara Media; "Ferrara Media and Miles Media are archenemies, and their power struggle is played out in the media." Um, what? How has Claire's company been sinking and laying off 300 of 600 employees, but her board hasn't forced her out as CEO? What do any of these companies do?

Thanks to the publishers and NetGalley for the opportunity to review a digital ARC in exchange for an unbiased review.

I left a review for this book on Amazon as listened to the audible version and it was excellent. I loved the characters and this book had many laugh out loud moments which had me smiling long after I finished the book. Well deserved five stars. Am waiting for the next one in this series. Hurry up!!

I Floved this book! TL Swan is quickly becoming one of my auto buy authors! I would highly recommend this novel.

This book was LITERALLY perfection!! I loved it so much, and the humor had me laughing so hard. However there were things that irked me about this book, #1 being the self sabotage from the heroine! She knew she had a great man, who was understanding, and loved her kids but REFUSED to let him adopt them as his own? I understand her husband died and those were his kinds, but could they not me the hero’s kids too?? Ugh so irritating. But I loved the story, the way the hero won over the kids one by one. So good!

🎧 Audiobook Review 🎧

This book was an amazing surprise for me... Specially because I didn't liked the first one, and usually, this would be enough to not continue with a series.

I'm glad that I followed my friends advice and took my chances with The Takeover, because it's *Miles* away from the first one! (Yep... I did that 😂😂)

Tristan was already an amazing character in his, not so incredible, brother's book... so I wasn't surprised when I started to fall in love with him! He's so far, the best Miles brother, and even if I'm curious about Elliott, I don't think any of them can take him from my top list. He's caring, passionate, honest, loyal and incredible in all his hotness!

I was surprised to see that I liked Claire too!
I know... Shocking!
She was a widow for 5 years and I could really see her struggles with moving on with her life, after losing her husband/partner/best friend... It's not an easy thing to do, and she was doing her best for their three boys.

I love books with kids... Not those unrealistic 5 years old, that smart talk about everything and knows it all... Nope!
The real ones... Like Claire's boys!
I looooved her boys (9, 13 and 18 years old)
I loved how Tristan was scared after their first terrible encounter.
I loved how each one of them were different and have had their own personality and issues.
I loved how protective of her they were.
And I loved the most how Tristan connected with each one of them, in their own time and in their own way.

This book was really well build and well written around a Man wanting a relationship with a Woman with kids and life baggage!

It was amazing and I highly recommend it!

🎧 About the Audiobook Narration...🎧

CJ Bloom and Sebastian York can do no wrong! They definitely made me tear up a little, when I know that I wouldn't if I was just reading the book!
5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Narration for sure!

Once I started this book, I couldn’t put it down. The chemistry between Tristan and Claire was off the charts. Claire is a mother of 3 boys that has experienced tragedy and heartbreak. A few years have passed since she lost her husband and their business is now struggling. Tristan Miles steps in to help, but his cutthroat business tactics do not impress Claire. She leaves a lasting impression on him and chance encounters leave them both wanting more. As the relationship progresses, Claire’s suffering surfaces and her inner mama bear rears it’s head. Both Tristan and Claire are in unfamiliar territory and I love how every situation was handled. I laughed, swooned and had a broken heart right with them. Very well done!

I received an unpublished copy of this on NetGalley and this review is my own opinion.
If I could award more stars I would! I thought I loved The Stopover, but The Takeover was another level. I absolutely loved Tristan and Claire. These characters were hilarious but also had their vulnerabilities. I was laughing so hard at one point I couldn’t read the page through tears. The book had the angst and emotion TL Swan is renowned. I couldn’t put the book down and finished in 24 hours.

This is the second book of The Miles High Club series, about Tristan and Claire. When I read the first book The Stopover, I thought I found my favorite book, but after reading The Takeover, I'm torn between these two. Tristan and Claire's story is emotional, swoony, and hilarious. I think what I love most about TL Swan's writing is that - all her characters are matured adults, acting like adults. You will never see her characters acting stupidly, making reckless decisions, and makes you go like "WTH!" No. Her characters make realistic and wise decisions, and because of that, you are able to relate to her stories. I loved Tristan and Claire, their commitments, their love for each other. BUT, my favorite character is Patrick, my sweet sweet boy. LOL. Read it and you will see why. Bravo for another excellent book Swan. I can not wait for more stories to come.

TL Swan is quickly becoming a favorite author of mine! I am devouring her books! I loved this one! Tristan was fantastic and Claire was great with him. They had amazing chemistry and I loved seeing her kids with him. This one had me swooning and cracking up and I couldn't get enough! I can't wait for Elliot's book!

Claire runs Anderson Media and it is now a struggling company and having to finish staff that they can not afford and now the sharks are circling waiting to buy the company at a rock bottom price but Claire is still holing on as she could loose everything including her home but she has to hold on as it was her late husband's company. Tristan wants to buy Anderson Media but Claire is putting up blocks but he will not let that stop him as what he wants he gets as he is ruthless when it comes to business deals. Will he succeed this time or are there situations that he did not see coming. I loved Claire's children they had me laughing so hard with all there antics and Tristan's reaction to them. Wow i love this book so much with all its twists and turns that keep you turning the pages to see what will happen next and it is so addictive. I have read every single book as T L Swan is an amazing author and writer and i definitely recommend you read this book and others by her and you will not be disappointed.
I Voluntarily Reviewed an Arc copy of this book.

💭

Y'all it's official: I'm head over heels with Mr Tristan Miles. How am I supposed to be fine after meeting the most perfect man in the world? Miss Tee ruined men for me 😭 Tristan Miles is everyone's dream man. He is rich, sexy, gorgeous, funny, but most importantly, once he finds his woman, he does anything he can to make her happy. He knows for so many reasons, he can't be with Claire, but he works hard to make it work, including doing anything in his power to own her kids' heart. The kids at first treat him poorly, but as I'm saying, Tristan slowly gets into their lives and helps them figure out their problems (something that their mother couldn't do by herself).

So why didn't I give the book 5 stars? For one reason only: Claire Anderson!!! At first, I understood her struggles and hesitation to be with Tristan, but then towards the last 20%, her comments, attitude and thoughts were bullsh*t. She was selfish and cruel towards him, only because she never got over her de@d husband. She is definitely not worthy of Tristan's love.

Now back to the side characters, I have to say the kids are amazing. At first they were pissed off with Tristan because they didn't want their mother to move on, but slowly they formed a special bond with him, which is hands down the best part of the book.

Honestly, besides not connecting with the heroine, I do recommend you to pick this book up for three reasons: Tristan, the kids and all the hilarious scenes that Tee nailed to write. For all that, you HAVE to read it asap!!!

This is Tristans and Claire’s story, we met Tristan in The Stopover as he’s one of Jameson’s brothers, Claire is a widow and mother of three boys, Fletcher, Harry and Patrick or Fletch, Wiz and Tricky as Tristan so affectionately calls them, Claire’s trying her hardest to keep her deceased husbands company afloat and away from Tristans grasp.
This book has it all, loveable characters, great and realistic storyline and some very funny moments, I can’t recommend this book enough, a must read for all TL Swan fans.
I received an ARC for an honest review.

I didn't like this book very much and it was entirely due to the MMC. He was really pushy and it made me not enjoy the book. Which is a complete bummer because I really liked the first book.

Claire Anderson is trying to keep it all together. Five years after her husband died in a car accident, she is raising her three sons and trying to keep her business from folding and being bought out by Tristan Miles and Miles Media. Claire is urged to take a week at a wellness retreat in France where she is surprised to see Tristan. They have instant chemistry, but Claire hates him because he tried to buy her company. After spending a few days bantering, they finally admit their attraction. They are so hot and heavy, Claire decides to spend the weekend in Paris with him. Then it is back to reality where she think she has seen the last of Tristan. But he is not gone. They start to secretly see each other. Her oldest takes an internship at Miles Media. Tristan starts hanging out at her house. Claire is torn between her growing feelings for Tristan and her loyalty to her late husband. This back and forth continues as Tristan bonds with her kids. And while all this is happening, her company continues to struggle.

I liked the way the story unfolded and hearing Tristan and Claire’s points of view. Tristan is the supportive boyfriend that we all wish for and I was happy for the HEA.

The Takeover is the second book in The Miles High Club series. This book is told from dual points of view from Tristan and Claire.

Claire is a single parent, and Tristan is infatuated with her from the beginning. She's older than him, thinks she's to old for him, so she puts him through the ringer.

I loved the banter between Tristan and Claire, and I can't wait to see what happens next in this series. Can Claire get past the age difference? Can she trust Tristan to be there for her child or just up and bail? Will they get their happy ending?
