This made me want to eat salad. Some great tasty looking photos. Even kale and cuscus is made edible here.

This is a superb and very handy book of salads. Some fantastic ideas (and add in the UK reader who had the fun of Googling some of the US terminology ... a sweet onion, you say!) and lovely to have ideas through the year. The dressing also look great, with one to compliment each salad. Suffice to say I added some things to my weekly online shop.

I’m in agreeance that this book houses some beautiful salads. Paired with the freshest ingredients you can really enjoy some of the finest salads within this book.

What did I like? You very seldom see a book dedicated to just salads. Pictures enclosed held some mouth watering and jaw dropping salads that will wet your appetite. From fresh fruit to leafy greens to nutty behavior....these salads have it all.

Would I recommend or buy? It’s not necessary to buy this book to enjoy salad but this book offers some tips and tricks to get the best taste from your salad. I found it a unique idea in a sea of cookbooks! I would love a copy! Salad lovers will want a copy!

I received a complimentary copy to read! Five stars and a unique idea!

These salads aren't just beautiful but also affordable, varied and yummy.
I can't wait to try out all of these wonderful recipes!
"Beautiful Salads" is perfect for salad lovers looking for new ideas or those who need a little push to embrace salad dishes. There is surely something for everyone in here, from vegetarians to meat and seafood lovers.
The recipes are split into seasons which isn't just pretty but also makes it easier to shop local and seasonal.
Seasonal food isn't just good for the environment but also for the body and money.
The recipes seem easy enough to be fun to make but varied and complex enough in flavour to be not just yet another plate of leaves.

Beautiful Salads by Pam Powell is a true treat for those of us that are bored with ordinary salads!
The book has something for every salad lover. It is organized by season and the recipes are gorgeous to look at. A few definitely caught my attention and I can’t wait to try- Asian Summer Slaw, Spicy Grilled Shrimp and Strawberry, Citron Roasted Brussel Sprouts, and Memorial Day Quinoa are ones I’m going to be trying ASAP.
It’s nice to have a dedicated cookbook just for salads and I would highly recommend this one if you are looking to up your salad game.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book.

The cover doesn't do this aptly named book justice. It is really packed with beautiful salads, divided by season, that are easy to make, nutritious and tasty. The author got her start at Madden's Resort in Northern Minnesota and now runs an organic farm and salad dressing business. She's passionate about using healthy, sustainable, organic ingredients and she really knows how to sell a salad. They're all gorgeous and use relatively few ingredients, with a focus on what's in season as the year goes on.

There are color photos for most of the salads, and they're gorgeous. I'd order just about any of them in a restaurant (with the exception of those featuring meats like lamb). There are different salad dressings for each of them, but they're easy to assemble and she teaches you at the start how to make your own simple dressing and how to emulsify it to make it creamy. The recipes are suitable for meat eaters and vegetarians, and most would also be suitable for paleo and gluten free folks (sometimes with a few tweaks for paleo). A number of the recipes are also dairy free and vegan, though animal products are used fairly often. No nutritional information is provided.

I read a temporary digital ARC of this book for review.

The recipes in this book show some beautiful salads with ingredients that are far from your boring regular salads. I can’t wait to see if the flavor combinations taste as good as they look!

Pam Powell breaks down salad by season in this wonderful cookbook. Each season has numerous salad recipes followed by vibrant photos that truly live up to the title "Beautiful Salads".

The pictures in this book are beautiful. The salads are creative and original. And the recipes were delicious. I tried several of the recipes and they were really good!

This cook book is pitched at just the right level: the ideas are fresh and innovative, but the ingredients are realistic and the sort of thing you won’t find it hard to find without having to make special shopping trips.
Each salad has a vinaigrette or other dressing.
I also liked the instructions which are clearly laid out: for example, the mozzarella and shredded kale salad with basil and sun-dried tomato vinaigrette, where the instructions for each part of the recipe are laid out in clear stages, combined at the end.
The photos are nice too - you can see what your salad will look like and be tempted to try a recipe.
Some of the American ingredients will need translating - Arugula is rocket - but this isn’t a problem.
All in all, an inspiring salad cookbook that’s fresh and tempting without being over-complicated.

I love salads and this is the perfect cooking book for me. Great recipes, richly illustrated. I will surely try some of them.
Highly recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine.

A great range of salads full of a variety of proteins and greens. Most of the salads are full of commonly found greens but there are also suggestions for more esoteric options like upland cress. I tried two of the salads from the summer season and found them flavorful, full of good textures, and more importantly, easy to make. There could be more photos but they accompany most of the recipes and are stunning.

The name of this book is completely accurate! This is a perfect book for someone who loves salad, but wants to step up their salad game! The salads and dressings were fancy and not your average salad. If I saw any of these on a menu for a restaurant I would promptly and excitedly order it and I look forward to trying some at home too!

**I received an e-ARC from NetGalley for an honest review**

There are a wide variety of recipes, While most of the dressings are vinaigrettes, there's also a great lemon dill caesar dressing and a cowboy ranch dressing, just to name a couple. Several of the dressings will be perfect as sauces for things like chicken fingers and appetizers as well.

I've only had this book for two days, but I've already made several of the dressings and a few of the salads. I will definitely be picking up a copy of this book for everyone I know for Christmas presents this year!

Overall, my favorite salads (so far!) are the "Grilled Veggies and Cheese Tortellini Salad with basil and sun-dried tomato vinaigrette" and the "Sweet Corn and Confetti Cabbage Slaw with creamy cilantro and cayenne pepper dressing" (this one alone would give an extra star to the book if possible!)

In conclusion, while the pictures alone are enough to make me interested in the book, the actual recipes in "Beautiful Salads" will make this book worth any price I pay to add it to my collection.

I drooled my way through this gorgeous book of 140 tasty organic salad and dressing recipes, gazing at the 60 color photos with growing hunger.

I thought, “I’ll run to the store, stock up on ingredients, and have the Grilled Wild Salmon and Red Raspberry Salad tonight. Then on hub’s upcoming birthday, we’ll celebrate with the Harvest Tomato Panzanella Salad. Add chunky bread, a glass of vino, and voila — a feast!”

I know we’ll glow with good health as we eat our way through the scrumptious recipes, written with love by Pam Powell, founder of Salad Girl Organic Dressings.

One thought: Replace the cover shot with the rainbow-hued Farmer’s Market Cobb Salad, awash in sweet corn, Choggia beets, cherry tomatoes, baby carrots, grilled chicken, and Gorgonzola. Yum!

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review. A brilliant book with wonderful, mouth-watering pictures! I cannot wait to use these recipes for lunches and for tasty dinners. Also very helpful that it organises recipes by season - useful for buying ingredients and for having those different flavours as the weather changes! Never considered it before.

The author begins her book with clear messages about shopping local and sustainability and even though I wasn't on board with all of her tips I appreciated the attention to detail. The photos are unfussy and presented in a way that makes her recipes accessible- these are eyecatching dishes that anyone can make at home. I will say that while there is a wide variety on offer I did find a heavy reliance on fruit and sugar or honey, which was surprising. I like sweet and savoury now and then but these recipes skewed too sugary for me to use very often. I would have loved to see some more ketogenic friendly options, it's a community that thrives on hearty salads.

A gorgeous and inspiring “cook” book! The photographs make me drool! I try to eat a salad a day and love all of these new ideas. I really appreciate that it is organized by season - I wish all cookbooks were done that way. This would be great for a gift. I am pre-ordering the hard copy. Thank you to Voyageur Press, Pam Powell, and Net Galley for the advance digital copy. #beautifulsalads #netgalley

Really good sounding salads with beautiful pictures of each salad to tempt you to make it. Each salad has a different dressing, which you could use on a different salad if you choose. A woman I used to work with made the best salads and the salads in this book remind me of things she would make.
This was an ARC copy from Netgalley.

I absolutely love salads and often prepare one for me just about every night. I’ve never considered changing up my routine to base salads on the seasons. Very clever! There is such a variety of ingredients in these recipes I hopefully will find them at my local health store. Other than that, this book has given me so many ideas that I feel I will never get tired of eating salads. Now all I have to convince my husband to try one or two. Great book full of healthy eating choices. I recommend this book should be in every household.
I received an advanced reader copy from NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.

Beautiful Salads by Pam Powell is packed with gorgeous and unique salads.

I loved that the book was broken into seasonal categories. I enjoyed that it was a mix of mostly items I am familiar with, along with a few new ingredients to play, try, and experiment with. I often find dressings are where I struggle with salad. There are so many delicious recipes to choose from. I have had fun mixing up the dressings on the salads I have tried.

The pictures are all gorgeous and you want to eat the salads right off the page.

I will be buying a copy when this comes out, and it would make the perfect gift for friends and family.

Whether you are looking to try making your own salads or want to change up your salad routine, this book is for you!

I received an electronic advanced reader copy from Quarto Publishing Group- Harvard Common Press and Voyageur Press through NetGalley. All opinions are 100% my own.

Such a fun and useful way to present the salads, according to season that is. The pictures are gorgeous, you can see that the ingredients are fresh and ripe. I am really thankful for the vinaigrettes in the book. I experiment a lot, but I’m also always looking for new ideas. Sometimes I feel like whatever I try they all taste the same, so I will definitely utilize these recipes.

I’m a big fan of salads, and can’t wait to start making these new recipes. I can easily veganize these recipes, which is great! I think my favorites in the book are the spring and summer salads, because that is when I can get fresh ingredients from my own garden. I appreciate all the time and effort the author has put into these salads and the book. You can truly see salads are not just food for her, it’s a passion!

Great book for Salad inspirations!
I love salads and that can get very repetitive, relying on the same things, while this book is divided by season, so you can also mix things up depending on what is in season. I am definitely looking forward to trying some recipes. For example, the Watermelon with feta salad looks amazing and it is a combination I love!

As a vegan this book was a great choice for me to request. There book is divided into season and matches the salads with each one. I really enjoyed it, the salad dressing accompaniment with the salad has some great recepies. Really like this little book.

This was a beautiful cookbook with stunning pictures. Most of the recipes were simple and easy to make too. Who knew a salad could look so good?

Beautiful Salads by Pam Powell is a beautifully dedicated salad book! I tend to like having a go-to book for salads. Most of the recipes have a gorgeous colored photograph which makes you want to try them all!!! The author also has her own website at www.saladgirl.com. On her website, Pam shares a lot of recipes and you can also order some of her dressings! I think these would be great Christmas presents for the guy/gal that has everything!!

The recipes are organized by season which I liked because the ingredients called for is currently available in stores. Most salads have their own dressings and I liked the variety provided and the ease of making. The author explains each type of lettuce that is called for in the recipes and I learned about a few I've never heard of before!

The recipe I decided to start with is called Memorial Day Quinoa Salad and it was bursting with flavor and easy to put together. The only ingredient I had to buy was the cherries because I didn't have them on hand. If all the recipes are this good, I know i'll be serving more salads to my family in the future.

Overall, I really liked this cookbook and would recommend it to any salad lover!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for an ARC of this cookbook in exchange for my review.

Beautiful Salads is a style and recipe guide for organic dressings and salad by Pam Powell. Due out 5th Oct 2020 from Quarto on their Voyageur imprint, it's 160 pages and will be available in hardcover format.

The book is laid out in a logical and easy to understand way. The introductory content covers ingredients and preparation. The following sections contain the recipes arranged thematically by season: spring, summer, autumn, and winter. Each season contains approximately 20 recipes (75 total by my count).

Ingredient measurements are supplied in American measurements only. There wasn't a conversion chart for metric measures included in the eARC provided for review. Nutritional information is also not included. Extra tips or recipe alternatives are listed in sidebars with the recipes. The recipes themselves are fairly straightforward and are made with easily sourced ingredients. Many are very simple, none of them are overly complex. The book does include an index and resource list.

The photography is clear and abundant; most of the recipes are illustrated, and the photographs which are included are crisp and well done. Serving suggestions are attractive and appropriate. In fact, the photography was one of the highlights of this cookbook. The other huge plus for me was the varied and delicious dressings. There are so many variations on vinaigrette and dressing that just that aspect of the collection will keep readers busy for ages.

This is a large collection of recipes and even allowing for the fact that some of them are similar to others in the same category, this will keep salad fans going for ages. These are well developed and attractive dishes, beautifully presented and full of tasty raw and unprocessed ingredients and enhanced with dressings which run the gamut from traditional to trendy.

We're definitely going to try more of these. Well written book, tasty food.

Five stars. This is a solid recipe book which will be used. It would make a superlative housewarming gift to a friend or family member - college student, new graduate, newlyweds, kids flying the nest, etc. Salads can fill so many roles, from side dish to main meal. I've tested several of these recipes as a work lunch in my bento box and they work very well for that purpose also.

Disclosure: I received an ARC at no cost from the author/publisher for review purposes.

These recipes are yummy and beautifully photographed. I really enjoyed the seasonal approach to the recipes.

The Beautiful Salads cookery book provides over seventy recipes that do more than just limp green leaves that are often called a 'salad' at times!

The book is divided into four sections covering each seasons and has a useful introduction explaining the different salad leaves you can get and other ingredients you need in the cupboard such as oil, herbs, seeds and more. The recipes are a mix of vegetarian, meat or fish. Although they are split by season, with the advent of all year round growing you could probably make these any time of the year.

Not all the recipes come with a colour photograph, the measurements are in imperial and some ingredients have just a 'c' next to them which like another book I recently reviewed I assume means cups, but again I couldn't find a key to confirm that. It also mentions setting a grill to 500-550 degrees F, but it's not something we have at that temperature in the UK and a number of ingredients that I don't recognise such as pummelo juice, asiago cheese or specific brands (though I guess they can be substituted).

The resources section at the rear provides a list of American websites for cheese and chocolate and green resources.

I received this book from Netgalley in return for a honest review.

Almost everybody loves salads; Busy cooks often used the kind that comes packaged in the grocery store, but since they are fairly easy to make, many cooks make them from scratch at home. One of the problems with salads is coming up with new or innovative ways to make them exciting. Pam Powell, who owns a salad dressing company and has a successful blog called Salad Girl, is the author of an excellent cookbook, Beautiful Salads: Delicious Organic Salads and Dressings for Every Season. This cookbook is quite possibly the only salad cookbook ever needed because there are so many mouthwatering ideas. The salad recipes are divided into seasons, so it’s easy to find something to make according to what is fresh and in season.

Not your pedestrian salad book, this excellent book includes dozens of unique seasonal salads – fruit, vegetable, full meal including meats, poultry, cheese, etc. - using modern organic ingredients with mouthwatering dressings that not only go with the salads published, but are also good to have around to dress everyday salads. This book is worth having just for the variety of salad dressings alone.

If you’re looking for something extra special to serve to company, or just something different to serve for dinner, you can’t go wrong with this cookbook. The instructions are succinct and easy-to-follow, the ingredients are mostly easy-to-find in regular grocery stores, and there are several beautiful photographs. Most grocery stores feature fancy types of lettuce and sprouts; this book has recipes for all of those little known ingredients that can make our salads exciting.

All told, this is an excellent cookbook for salad lovers. It will get plenty of use in households that love salad, and the unique dressings are a real bonus.

Special thanks to NetGalley for supplying a review copy of this book.

I often find cookbooks have either bland salads or, in some cases, no salads at all! I decided to check out Beautiful Salads to fill that void in the kitchen and I was not disappointed. The salads in this cookbook are so delicious, even my niece loves to eat them! The ingredient choices are creative, and the photos are amazing quality. I never thought I'd be craving a salad before looking at some of these images, but they look so tasty! I'm slowly working my way through most of the recipes, and they've been total hits with my family. Well worth trying some out!

These salads are definitely beautiful! As someone who is trying to incorporate more salads into my diet, I can't wait to try these recipes out.

I love eating a delicious salad to help get nutrients in my body and also to lose weight (or maintain an ideal weight when I am comfortable with where I am at again) but salads can get so boring if you eat the same kinds over and over. I was incredibly excited to see a cookbook dedicated entirely to different salad offerings. There were some mouth watering recipes in Beautiful Salads that I can not wait to give a try!

I have really enjoyed some of these salad recipes. Lately we have done the peach salad with the peach vinaigrette. Off the charts good! As for the cookbook it self the recipes are creative and look delicious. They really bring some diversity to your regular old salads. It's a keeper!
