The Andes Mountains of Peru are rich with ancient shamanic traditions, sacred places, and heart wisdom passed down from the Inca and safeguarded for generations by the Q’eros nation. In this experiential guide to the wisdom and practices of the Andean people and their sacred land, Vera Lopez and Linda Star Wolf take you on an intimate journey through the sacred sites, temples, and power places of Peru, including Machu Picchu, Cuzco, Ollantaytambo, Sacsayhuamán, Písac, Lake Titicaca, and more. They show how each of these powerful sites holds an ancient wisdom--an initiation left behind by the Inca--and they share initiatory rites and shamanic journeying practices to allow you to integrate and embody the wisdom of each sacred place.
The authors explore the cosmology and core shamanic beliefs of the Andean people, including Pachamama, the Sacred Law of Reciprocity, the Serpent of Light, the Chakannah, and power animals such as condors, snakes, hummingbirds, and pumas. They examine healing practices and sacred plants of this tradition, including a look at the shamanic use of ayahuasca and San Pedro.
Offering direct access to the gentle heart of wisdom found within the ancient shamanic land of Peru, the authors show how the Andean shamanic tradition offers an antidote to the modern epidemic of Soul Loss by connecting us back to our authentic self and the universal principles of love, reciprocity, and gratitude.

Shamanic Mysteries of Peru is an adventure story and teaching guide all in one.I read this book with the intent of doing the exercises as I went along, however I decided to read it first, then do the exercises.
To begin with the authors give their background and reasons for the teachings enclosed. The story is familiar to me as synchronicity is found often when important teachings are ready to be revealed Ive found. To think that an unbroken lineage of teachings exist still is awesome IMO. The teachings generously given the author by the elders and spiritual healers she encountered are very healing. As I started doing the exercises I found myself becoming more grounded .As each exercise evolved the Gods of the Peruvian people and their environment made more sense to me. I will never be able to go to Peru but I found this book to be an enjoyable and positive adventure that I could take at home in these troublesome times.
Interesting book, especially after a trip to Peru two years ago. We visited a lot of these places so interesting to get additional context... might even make me go back. Thanks
A woman writing about the sacred feminine and it's someone other than Drunvalo Melchizedek! What a gem.
I am so happy that this book is coming out. I really connected with the author because I too have taken a sacred journey to the Yucatan and can attest to the trials and tribulations she has experinced as well, although my experiences were different. I can attest to the journey really breaking down those parts of you where the ego really holds on ( in an unhealthy way.) To break that you have to climb that mountain and not look back. Focus on the present.
This is the second time I am hearing that there is a sacred feminine university on the earth that is connected to the divine feminine.
I loved the photos in conjunctiom with the text. They really add another level of understanding and connection with the story of what cities and areas the author was in... I definitely will be getting this book for a friend who went with me on this sacred trip, as it reminds me so much of our trip to Chichen Itza.

Shamanic Mysteries of Peru is an interesting book about the practices and traditions of the Andes and its' ancient civilizations. It is also a personal memoir of the authors' visits to various spiritual places and their own experiences. They include a variety of guided mediations, and excellent information on each of the famous spiritual sites including Machu Picchu. It is an easy read and a good well balanced book. Perfect for anyone interested in shamanism or planning a trip to visit the spiritual sites in Peru.
This book made me want to visit Peru. I found myself referring to Google and You Tube to see the sites described. I found it interesting to read about Shamanism. I have visited places that felt very spiritual to me and I enjoyed reading about the history and meditative spirituality of this book.
This is a treasure! We’ve stepped away from our connectedness to the earth and it’s proven in so many ways, yet we fail to do something with the messages we’re sent from the universe.
If you enjoy history, especially temples and shamanic lands, you’ll definitely want to pick this title up. Unlike my traditional novels, this took me on a journey through ancient lands that I wouldn’t have otherwise experienced.
5 BIG Stars for this!
