Description
HEIRESS TO DANGER. When elderly communications magnate, Owen Byrnside, learns that twenty-six years earlier his deceased son fathered a daughter, he yearns to locate his heir.
It won't be easy. The night the girl's mother abandoned the baby at a foundling home, two other infants suffered the same fate. It doesn't take long for Byrnside’s lawyer to track down the first orphan, Kate Humphrey. Contacting her is another story.
Beautiful, redheaded Kate is a struggling jazz pianist performing in London. When her gig goes sour, Kate takes on a job shepherding a pair of fractious youngsters to join their father in Italy. Little does she know their dad is a gangster. But handsome steeplechase jockey, Nick Coni, knows. He’s coping with death threats from the man and stalks Kate to find out the actual nature of her connection.
Kate mixes it up with hired assassins while falling in love with Nick. Will she turn out to be Owen Byrnside’s lost granddaughter? This is the first thrilling novel in a three-book series. High Stakes delivers excitement and passionate romance. Get started on the The Byrnside Inheritance today!

should be a 3.5 but i rounded it up! this book was both original and compelling. the relationship between both characters is thought out and complex, which i enjoyed seeing. has some steamy moments but nothing too over the top. not an all time favorite but i still enjoyed it and would read more by the author!
