Connect with your power animal with Alyson Charles, Animal Power. Includes beautiful bold illustrations by Willian Santiago and a handy quick reference in the back.
The author has much experience with many differing Shamanic traditions whilst guided by invitation by its fellow custodians. With this in mind the author states clearly to the reader to remember to respect the practice and acknowledge, honour and respect the First Nations and First Peoples of the land.

I loved this fascinating book full of earth-centered wisdom about the wisdom we can receive from many different animal energies. There are excellent background stories as well, and so much to ponder. The illustrations are bright, bold, and powerful
Thanks to NetGalley, the author and publisher for an advanced reading copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

The illustrations are wow, I’m having so much fun reading and looking into the different animals. This is definitely a book I would love to have as a reference book in my library.

Do get animals from around the world. different indexes if wanting to go by an animal, power/energy, or emotion. Some information and how to connect.

This is a beautiful book. The information is presented in an interesting way. Good introduction into the subject.

This is a beautifully illustrated book about working with spirit animals. I love the illustrations, though I didn't necessarily agree with the author, who claims to be a shaman teaching the religious beliefs of people and traditions she didn't grow up with. Let cultures tell their own teachings, if they wish to. The art, however, is lovely.

An interesting look into genuine spiritual practices working with “power animals.” First and foremost, this book is respectful of the First Nations and shamanistic roots of these practices. There is an informative introduction into the workings of shamanism and then beautifully illustrated sections on working with 100 different animals in a spiritual, representative, and energistic sense. I was glad to see there is a large diversity of animals represented in the book: it’s not just the typical “spiritual” animals like wolves or owls, but also ones like ants or porcupines. If you’re into other spirituality books or curious about animal symbolism for spiritual purposes, this will be worth checking out.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC.
