Description
Charlie Rockwell’s divorce from her rock star ex left her with a broken heart, a mansion on the bluffs in her hometown of Blue Moon Bay, and an empty back account. Now, Charlie has to generate enough income to keep the house she loves.
When producers of the soap opera, Just One Love, offer to rent Charlie’s house for a sizable fee, Charlie’s tempted. Only she wants nothing to do with the spotlight or dating someone famous again, and the show’s sexy star, Luke Montgomery, has her in his sights. Reluctantly, Charlie agrees to rent her home and vows to stay out of Luke’s way.
Unexpectedly, as filming progresses, Charlie witnesses Luke’s sweet side. She also remembers her college theater days and love of acting. During an on-set emergency, she’s asked to stand-in during a scene, and her undeniable chemistry with Luke impresses the producers enough that they want Charlie full-time.
Can Charlie finally have the career she’s dreamed about? And will Luke break her heart, or will he be everything he seems and what she always wanted?

I loved this book, super entertaining! I loved the positive message about marriage in the book: how important is it to work to support each other while not giving up on who you both are!
This story was sweet and so funny. They town’s people were wonderful secondary and third characters. Her friends and sister truly support her and have been trying to get her to get on with life!
I love Blue Moon Bay series
Good series, well written, with a life lesson thrown in for good measure. I enjoy this series so was happy to read Charlie's story. Love staying in touch with past characters. I'd like to thank netgalley and Hatco publishing for the advanced copy.
Charlie Rockwell married her high school sweetheart. He was a musician, and she wanted to be an actress. When he got noticed and his career started to take off, she put her dreams aside to support him. It was exciting, but neither one had thought about what becoming a star would be like. He loved it, and she had to walk away from him. All she got from the divorce was her vacation home. When she needed money to save her home, her lawyer gave her two options. She chose the second option of renting out her home to the soap opera, Just One Love for a month.
When they started to shoot there, she was needed to play a small part for one day, but she was so good with the star Luke that the producers expanded her role. She was finally becoming an actress and started to come alive but when the paparazzi arrive, she is ready to call it quits. She and Luke were starting to fall in love, and she could have the life she dreamed of, if she could get past what fame had done to her and her ex-husband.
Sometimes when you plan out your life, there are many things we don't plan on. Charlie put her life on hold to support her husband so when they got divorced, she really had no way of supporting herself. We do learn why he did what he did when they got divorced which was another eye-opener. Is there a way to have the life you want without all the unwanted attention? The book shows us what the reality is for Charlie but it also gives us insight on things we may not think about when planning life.
I received an ARC from Hatco Publishing through NetGalley.
Tender hearted love story that will keep you engaged in the storyline.

Charlie Rockwall is divorced from a rockstar and she is finding it hard to get away from the paparazzi. She has run out of money and has to open up her home to a film company that is filming her favorite soap opera. She has always dreamed of being a actress.
Luke Montgomery is the lead actor and has fallen for Charlie. Both of them have a magnetism that the powers to be notice and soon she is offered a bit part.
Sparks fly between her and the lead actress who becomes jealous. The ex-husband also returns and causes issues and now the sparks are about to fly left & right!
I received a free advanced copy from NetGalley and these are my willingly given thoughts and opinions.
Thank you NetGalley, Susan Hatler and Hatco Publishing for the digital copy of The Wishing Star. This is my personal review.
Charlie wanted to be an actress but gave up that dream to help her husband fulfill his dream of being a singer. But her life changed when she divorced her husband. She was left with a mansion she could not afford to live in.
Her life changed when a film crew wanted to use her home to tape a daytime soap opera. She never imagined she would be asked to play a small role in the show. But then the role turned into a bigger role when the chemistry between her and the male lead Luke Montgomery was helping the ratings. But the chemistry was not just on screen because they both felt the pop and sizzle they had.
The romance in the book was just the right amount that I could feel it as I was reading.
This is the third book in the Kissed by the Bay series, and it is an excellent book to grab and lay on the beach to read.
The third book in the series. Engaging writing style as always, that kept me turning the pages. Thought-provoking, tender and original. Highly recommended.
Easy fun read about life after divorce and finally putting yourself first. Set in star life and the pitfalls that come with it.
This is a feel good summer book easy to read and enjoyable. Loved the main character Charlie and how the story followed her love life.
The Wishing Star is a sweet romantic story. I wish I had read the 2 stories previous to this one. I look forward to reading all the books in the Blue Moon Bay series.
This was my first book by Susan Hatler and it will not be my last. This was such a sweet story. I loved Charlie and Luke and enjoyed watching their relationship develop. This was also a quick read, which I appreciated!
Thanks Netgalley for a arc copy of this book for a honest review..
I love the title of this book The Wishing Star. This was a clean second chance romance. I love those kind of troops...Everything about this book had me smiling even though it can be read as a standalone I will be reading from the beginning and work my way up. 4 star read

After the separation from a famous man who is a singer and cheated on her, Charlie Rockwell return to her hometown. Monay is scarce, so she accepts suggestions from soap opera producers Just One Love, who offer to rent her house for a substantial fee. And coincidentally, she was given the opportunity to play a role in the Soap opera when the actress didn’t show up. The producers are enthusiastic and they soon offer her a large part.
But it can't go well. There, this charming prince Luke Montgomery, an actor who mixes it all up. It's like a true soap opera. And I remember when I was younger, I watched a few of them and I remembered how it all happened. Back and forth. They were all in love with everybody, and then they hate everyone and again from the beginning.
But the book was funny and more interesting than soap operas. And almost cry again. But love to the end and would not change anything. I will continue to read about these friends in Blue Moon Bay.
I received the copy on Netgalley.com in echange of an honest review. Speacial thank to Hatco Publishing
This was an easy , fast paced read about moving on and second chances.
The characters were enjoyable, some more than others. (Charlie's sister Claire was a bit annoying). The plot was fun, if a bit predictable. Overall a great summer read that left me laughing a bit and smiling.
I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
The Wishing Star by Susan Halter was such a sweet book and a quick read! Charlie's ex husband has left her in a pickle so she decides to rent out her beautiful beachside home for her favorite soap opera, Just One Love, for some on location filming. Little does she know she'll end up staring alongside a handsome leading man who she shares chemistry on and off the screen. Can Charlie open her heart after a rocky divorce or will obstacles keep them apart?
