Description

Defusing bombs is what he does, but can Adam stop his relationship with Evie from blowing up?

Staff Sergeant Adam Taylor is an explosives expert in the British Army but his relationship with Evie is a ticking time bomb. After thirteen years they find themselves in the trenches of change. Will they survive?

Adam

At 17 I knew Evie was the one. All the missing pieces in me, the broken bits of being orphaned and unloved, she filled. All I’ve ever wanted is to give her EVERYTHING. But now she wants me to leave the army so that we can start a family, but the military is all I know, and the only way I know how to provide...I’m not sure I can walk away from it or her.

Evie

I’ll never forget the day I met Adam, and we laughed at the irony of our names...it felt like fate. When we met I was lost and found all at once. Ours is the real deal, the kind of love story that makes people roll their eyes. But it’s been thirteen years. It’s time to start a family, but a family means Adam needs to quit his dangerous job and I don’t think he can.

Trust Me is a second chance romance that’ll make you laugh, cry and believe in forever love all over again.

Cindi Page is a new to me author and I was excited to read her new release. I absolutely loved this story and found myself cheering for Adam and Evie right from the start. I couldn’t put the book down and instead stayed up half the night finishing it! Such great storytelling throughout along with fantastic descriptions of Adam’s military deployments. I cried several times and was so invested in the side characters as much as the main ones. Tomorrow will be filled with book hangover gloom as I try to recover. This will not be my last read by Cindi! I can’t wait to read more of her work!!

Loved this story, a real page-turner

Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 27 April 2021

I loved this book, it was definitely a page turner for me. Full of love, heartbreak, dangerous missions, tragedy, and will take you through a whole range of emotions.

Adam and Evie are childhood sweethearts, but after 13 years Evie wants the family life she's always craved. However, Adam is deployed for at least 6 months every year which is not the family life she wants.

Evie decides that if Adam isn't willing to sacrifice his dangerous career for their family, then maybe they they shouldn't be a family any more.

I found Evie a little selfish in this story, certainly at first. I understood her side but at the same time, she wasn't the one being asked to abandon their career. She did grow on me through the book though. Adam was a sweetheart but, wow, did he have to deal with some extremely stressful situtions. A lot of things happened for him in such a short space of time and I'm amazed he held it all together as well as he did.

The writing was excellent and the story really did keep me on my toes. I even put it down with only a few chapters to go, not wanting to read about something that might happen, however, I just couldn't stay away for long.

 Tough and Tender Military Romance

Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 27 April 2021

Adam and Evie have been together since they were teenagers, but this doesn’t make loving someone on active duty any easier. Evie wishes Adam could say no to the pull of his job for the British Army, but he can’t. Adam can’t see what life would be like without the army- or Evie. Something’s got to give.

Trust Me is an emotional roller coaster, with exciting scenes in Afghanistan when Adam is doing what he does best, defusing bombs, and touching scenes set in a cottage in Herefordshire. Along the way, the steamy romance scenes support the plot and are written beautifully.

This is an easy book to read, with a plotline that keeps the pages turning. Fear not, Adam and Evie do get a HEA, but boy, oh boy, it’s an exciting ride to get there!
