Description
Can a snake wear shoes?
No! But they sure can win a race.
In this light-hearted book, learn how snakes can slither up trees, on land and even in the water. See all the fun shapes a snake can make with its body. Enjoy hearing your child shout out the answers to silly questions like "Can a snake wear gloves?" This call and response format is a time-tested method for keeping kids engaged and interacting, instead of just chewing on the pages.
Snakes Have No Legs is the first book in the Awesome Animals series.
Awesome Animals Series
Awesome Animals is a children’s non-fiction series. It explores the animal kingdom to gently introduce our little ones to body diversity. Each book features an animal which is missing something that we're taught to expect should be there. But these animals don’t just thrive despite that absence, they thrive because of it.
The Awesome Animals series uses a dyslexia-friendly type-face.
With dyslexia, we often focus on the challenges - difficulty reading. But thanks to the way the dyslexic brain is built, people with dyslexia are often creative, intuitive and highly successful. In other words, those people aren't thriving despite their dyslexic brain, they are thriving because of it.
Other books in the series:
Snakes Have No Legs
Pigs Never Sweat
Geckos Don’t Blink
Cows Have No Top Teeth
Turtles Have Hidden Ears

When I bumped into this book, I knew right away that my daughter would love it! It's about animals, it's funny, the illustrations are really cool, the message is positive and reinforces that we all are unique and wonderful. Of course, I couldn't help but read it before her coming home from kindergarten. And now I can't wait to read it again with her!
Thank you NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for this ARC.
This is a really cute funny book with great pictures that does a great job of explaining the way snakes move.
I mean this series is just too cute to handle!
I never thought a picture book on snakes would be this cheerful and cute!
I just love the illustrations so much.
Love how the author tries to teach the fact about snakes in such a fun manner.
Thank you, author/artist and the publisher, for the ARC.
A simple book with colourful illustrations and an important message for the reader to share with a younger audience.
Thanks to BooksGoSocial and NetGalley for an ARC of Snakes Have No Legs. This is a fun and educational introductory book for little ones about snakes. The illustrations are colorful and inviting. I can see my little boy really being engaged in the question and answer format of the story.
This is pretty cute, and I love that the art depicts snakes being chill and adorable instead of purely vicious. So many of the books available to my kid have snakes as scary villains or dangerous obstacles; I think it's nice to have an option that depicts them as just like any other animal and not inherently evil. The front cover art is especially adorable!
This book was adorable and kiddos are going to love it. It's full of interesting facts presented in an entertaining format with hilarious illustrations. A winner!
My little nephew really enjoyed another book in this series about little pigs so I was excited to find another title to share with him as well! A great little book to help inquisitive young minds learn about different types of animals
This is an adorable little children's book about how snakes don't have legs (like most animals do) is a great reminder for kids that each of us is special in our own way. While birds have wings (and two legs), many mammals have four legs, and of course us humans have two.
Displayed using a dyslexia friendly font, with bold background colours and cute little illustrations I can see no reason why every kid wouldn't appreciate this adorable little wonder. Kelly Tills does an excellent job of ensuring that no one animal is left feeling ugly or unwanted.
This is especially pertinent because often snakes are given a bad rap for historical reasons and not necessarily because they are all that dangerous. Yes there are venomous ones, and you never want to pick-up a snake in the wild. But as the owner of two corn snakes, a ball python, and a boa constrictor I can't emphasize enough how nice it is to see the snake used in a positive fashion!
The perfect little book for children under 3 years of age and appropriate for just about anyone.
Please note: I received an eARC of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. This is an honest and unbiased review.

I’ve never thought of snakes as adorable before now! I absolutely adore this story and I think it is a great, easy way for kids to learn about the animals in their world! The illustrations were so cute!
Snakes Have No Legs is a lovely book with great illustrations that myself and my 4 year old son enjoyed.
Thank you to NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for my ARC.
I think I liked the pig book better, but this was still cute and enjoyable. I am always down with a ridiculous silly picture book, and this fit the bill.
This is a very fun book to teach children about our differences. The illustrations are cute and the questions are silly, something that kids will really enjoy. The message about diversity is definitely there - snakes don’t have legs, but that’s ok. Even though snakes are different from humans and other animals, their differences are what make them unique. The same thing can apply to humans.
Overall this book is cute, simple and effective. It would be a great addition to any child’s library.
Thank you to NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for the advanced copy.
This was cute, especially for toddler. Very straight forward and to the point. Art work was good too.

My six year old daughter enjoyed reading this book with me. The words were not difficult and she was able to read it on her own. She thought it was funny and she liked the illustrations. While parts were funny the book was also teaching her basic things about snakes. Overall a good book for kids who want to know a little more about snakes.
Thank you Netgalley and BooksGoSocial for the opportunity to read this book.
