Description
Lincoln, Maxon, and me… our little family runs like clockwork. Until dark memories stall everything out.
Maxon recalls his abduction to Hell. Lincoln’s tortured by thoughts of his dickhead dad. And I’ve got issues of my own, people. Our troubles are only made worse by the appearance of an evil ghoul named Chroniker and a mysterious structure called the Clockwork Pyramid.
In short order, one thing becomes clear: to solve the mysteries of the Clockwork Pyramid, our family dynamics must get moving again. And if that doesn’t happen? My homeland of Purgatory will be overrun by blood-thirsty ghosts…

Perfect for teen and young adult readers who want their book series to deliver: badass world building, angels, demons, paranormal romance, fresh themes from contemporary fiction, LOL romantic comedy, gods and goddesses, dark fantasy, strong girls and women as heroines, themes about loners and outcasts, the best laughs in humorous literature, general coming of age whackery, and (most importantly) truly unusual epic fantasy.

Another fulfilling story in the Lincoln's & Myla world. However, we are treated with memories of Myla in purgatory as well as watching Maxson want to be like his parents and practice swords Etc.
Christina has an amazing imagination and is so skilled in World building with snarky characters sarcasm and all the aspects that you look for in an excellent series. The bond between Lincoln and Myla continues to grow with the inclusion of their son, Maxon.
I have to be honest, I am not usually a fan of books where kids are in danger. It is just not my thing. So let me give fair warning, young Maxon is in danger in this book. BUT it’s actually totally cool that he is in danger…yeah I know I make no sense whatsoever (chuckle).
One must remember that this is a Christina Bauer book and therefore all rules are broken. (I am replaying the Scream rules scene in my head as I type this (chuckle).) Maxon’s inclusion in the mystery and adventure is an added benefit. I love watching Myla and Lincoln as parents. Maxon is so much like Myla and I get such a kick out of it.
The adventure mystery works for me in Clockwork Igni. I love the graphics and the figure behind the Clockwork Pyramid. If I was good at cosplay costumes, I’m telling you between this book and Lady Reaper I would be set for the next couple of years. Freaking love the outfit in this story.
The diabolical overthinking is really cool too. I got a kick out of the villain or villains because I’m not telling. Bauer keeps everything fresh and fun.
Clockwork Igni is the ninth book in the “Angelbound: Origins” series, but higher if you read the other series too and I haven’t lost interest. Bauer is that good. Never mind, I seriously have a crush on Myla. Now I mention the number of the book, but even if you have never read one before, I think you can get away without having read one before. Bauer is good at the recap.
We are going back in time in the future books so I will miss Myla and Lincoln. Hopefully, Bauer’s muse has more in store for my girl as an adult because Myla’s sass is so much better with age (chuckle).
