Description

The second book in USA TODAY bestselling romantic suspense author Colleen Coble's Annie Pederson Series (following Edge of Dusk) returns to fan-favorite Rock Harbor as ranger Annie Pederson tries to find a way to balance justice and grace. Perfect for fans of Terri Blackstock, Dani Pettrey, and Lisa Harris.

As if the last few months haven't been hard enough--complete with threats on her life and the return of her first love, Jon--Annie has to figure out whether or not to believe a woman who claims to be her sister, Sarah, who was abducted twenty-four years ago at age five. Annie's eight-year-old daughter, Kylie, has plenty of questions about what's going on in her mother's life--but there are some stories Annie doesn't want uncovered.

As Annie grapples with how to heal the gulf between her and her would-be sister and make room in her daughter's life for Jon, she's professionally distracted by the case of yet another missing hiker in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. A woman named Michelle Fraser has now been abducted, and though the woman's estranged husband is at the top of their suspect list, Annie and her colleagues will need to dig deeper to determine whether these recent mysteries are truly as unrelated as they seem.

Of course this is a winner of a book - just see who the author is! Colleen Coble's writings guarantee to produce thrills and chills! Annie is a single mother whose husband has died, leaving her to raise her precious daughter. However, she is shocked to learn that actually her former boyfriend is the father, who happened to have run out on her before she even knew she was pregnant. He returns, and this time is determined not to run away. Meanwhile, there are people being hunted and killed, and Annie's job is to stop the killers. The excitement when Annie's own daughter goes missing entices readers stay up into the dark of night themselves to see how this all turns out!

The entire series was fantastic. The trauma that Sarah went through made the story very believable. My heart went out to the entire family.

Thomas Nelson and Netgalley have provided me with a copy of Dark at Night for review:

Justice is at the heart of the law, not grace. There may be a way for ranger Annie Pederson to have both.

In addition to having to deal with threats to her life and the return of her first love, Jon, Annie now has to decide whether or not to believe a woman who claims to be her sister, Sarah, who was abducted twenty-four years ago at age five. Annie's eight-year-old daughter, has many questions about her mother's life-but there are some stories Annie doesn't want revealed.

While Annie attempts to resolve the rift between her and her would-be sister and make room for Jon in her daughter's life, she's distracted by yet another missing hiker in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. A woman named Michelle Fraser has now been abducted. Though Michelle Fraser's estranged husband tops Annie and her colleagues' suspect list, they will need to dig deeper to determine if these recent mysteries are truly unrelated.

I give Dark of Night five out of five stars!

Happy Reading!
