This was a fun quick read following a mid thirty year old mom of three, Tara. Tara has a teenage daughter Gemma who constantly reminds her that she is no longer "cool" and is older. Her two young boys are wild, constantly causing chaos. Tara has a loving and supportive husband who loves their current routine and life, but worried that Tara isn't happy. Tara begins to experience a mid thirty year old crisis, she wants to fit in with the young crowd at work and with her teenage daughter. During this time, she buys new clothes, changes her hair and makes a bucket list of items she wants to accomplish. This was a fun read watching how Tara copes with her changing life and what is most important to her.

loved this quick and fun story of a mom who is just trying to find herself again. Well written and perfectly relatable this book will fly by because you can not put it down.

I will admit that the cover of this book is what originally grabbed me and made me want to read it.

I found this book funny, heart-warming, and endearing. There is so much to love in this book and it's a very entertaining debut novel.

This was a quick, easy to read, hard to put down, hilarious and heartwarming look at life after children. Tara Gallagher is trying to find her way to recapture her youth and not be an "embarrassment" to her teenage daughter. In a very funny, sarcastic, and witty glimpse of her life, we see Tara trying to find a good balance between work, family, and time for herself. I laughed out loud in places and cringed in others. I had trouble getting used to some of the phrases/slang that I'm not used to but there is a glossary (I wish it had been in the front - didn't notice it in the ebook until the very end). But I enjoyed getting to know Tara and her family and hope to read more of her work.

Hilarious and a little relatable. Tara is a harried mom of a 13yo daughter and two very messy little boys who is trying to get promoted at work (because she’s experienced and smart). She’s out of shape, frumpy, and has lost herself but with the help of a good friend creates a no fucks list that she starts to follow. Good fun!

As a mom of 2 kids, this book was EXTREMELY relatable.
Tara is a mom who had big dreams of being Beyoncé, and it feels like one day she woke up and all those dreams were replaced by exhaustion,
This is a true story of a mom reinventing and finding herself again, the humor of embarrassing her teenage daughter is an added delight.

Cannot wait for the release of this book!

This was a hilarious, relatable book! The Secret Life of an Uncool Mom by Serena Terry will lift your spirits and make you laugh out loud! Highly recommend!

A humorous take on the thankless drudgery of modern motherhood. Terry shows the warts and all of what being a mother while also trying to balance the rest of life's demands is like, but manages to take something that could all too easily be a tragedy and makes it funny, probably because the main character refuses to be beaten down and always has a sense of humor - and a bit of her own bite as well. Very enjoyable read.

Tara is the mother of 3 - a teenager, a preschooler and a toddler. She used to be hot stuff and now she's a hot mess!
Her "relations" with her husband have gone down hill. He describes her as looking, "fine" or, "good". And frankly that's just not enough for her anymore!
Time for a mommy makeover which includes pink hair, spinning classes, a new wardrobe and girl's nights out!
This book is extremely real and honest about the stages women can go through with navigating motherhood but remembering the individual that you are! I loved it and laughed so hard!

If this book doesn't have you laughing out loud and relating with her take on motherhood then nothing will.

Thanks to Harper 360, I was provided an ARC of Mammy Banter: The Secret Life of an Uncool Mom by Serena Terry via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Do you need an entertaining and humorous read?

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Tara Gallagher, 36, a mom of 3 to a 13 year old, 2 year old, and a 5 year old. Both the boys are unrulley and her 13 year old daughter is hormonal. When she tries to connect with her daughter, all she gets are eye rolls. Her husband, Paul, has told her that he is not satisfied and wants to go back to way it was prior to kids.

Paul encourages Tara to organize a ladies lunch. When her friends agree, they meet up and drink Prosecco. After two glasses in, Tara complains to Cat she is not happy and wants to channel her inner Beyoncé again. Cat asks Tara what would it take and then precedes to take notes. Cat makes Tara sign a contract to make her accountable. Can she get her inner Beyoncé back in order to impress her teen and husband? Can Tara juggle her kids, while keeping her husband happy?

A fun and entertaining book that will have you rolling your eyes and laughing out loud at times! Maybe even sympathizing at times with Tara in the struggles of motherhood. Perfect for books clubs!

I loved this book! As a mom of two girls, this was so relatable and laugh out loud funny. I highly recommend you pick this one up.

The Secret Life of an Uncool Mom is pure reading fun! Tara Gallagher is only thirty-six but her teenage daughter thinks she is old and a constance source of embarrassment. Her husband Paul loves her the way she is but with three children and a demanding job - she’s the oldest one there which doesn’t help - she feels she has lost her inner Beyoncé. So her best friend helps her make a list of goals and she sets off to change herself. It doesn’t go smoothly. That’s an understatement.

This is a quick read that will make you smile. Tara’s struggles will appeal to young and old mothers alike. I especially liked Gemma, the teenage daughter. Serena Terry is spot on describing the changing moods of adolescence. 5 stars.

Thank you to NetGalley, Harper 360 and Serena Terry for this ARC.

I was lucky to receive an advance copy of The Secret Life of an Uncool Mom by Serena Terry from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for my honest review and opinion. Let's just say the title and cover of this book drew me in and made me laugh before I even started reading. There's many days my son has made me feel like an uncool mom when he didn't get his way! :) I enjoyed this book and laughed out loud at several sections. The only thing I found a bit confusing was the Irish words as I didn't realize it was an Irish book...I definitely would recommend anyone who is a mom should take some time for themselves and read this. You won't be disappointed.

I'm not a mom, but I thought this was such a cute and funny book. I loved all parts of this. Its not fully relatable to me, but I have a teenage niece, and lemme tell you -- she is a good representation of one in the book and I'm the "cool" aunt who tries to fit in. I've already recommended this to my mom friends.

I absolutely loved this book. It hooked me and kept me turning pages until I was done. Finished it in two days! The character development was strong, and the premise was unique enough that it didn't feel like anything else I've read.
