I came to enjoy Donna Ashworth's poetry on FaceBook. She writes with a keen skill for putting her fingers on the pulse of womanhood and beautifully expresses the thoughts and feelings that the rest of us often find difficult to put into words.
This book covers love of all types. Some of the poems are light and joyful, others reminiscent, those of loss are heartbreaking.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and plan to read her other books as well. Highly recommend!

I recently reviewed another book by this poet so was quite excited to read this one as well. Donna Ashworth has an easy style that invites readers in. She also offers something to think about in each of her poems. In these ways, she reminds me of another favorite poet of mine, Mary Oliver. This is high praise.
In this volume, the subject is love in its many manifestations. There is, of course, romantic love but also love of family, friends, pets, life and more. For example, I found the poem The Love of a Dog to be quite profound in its own simple way or try Friendships; that one rang so true to me.
I recommend this collection to anyone who would like to read something that inspires a few minutes of quiet contemplation.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Black & White publishing for this title. All opinions are my own.
Love by Donna Ashworth
This is a lovely set of poems. I related to If your Mother Did not Love you so much. Each poem is unique and makes you feel emotional. She expresses the ideas and sentiments that the rest of us frequently find challenging to articulate in her writing with a strong knack for keeping her finger on the pulse of women.
All forms of love are covered in this book. Some of the poems are upbeat and jovial, while others are nostalgic and heartbreaking ones about loss.

I was not expecting to love this poetry book as much as i did!
Honestly, i was reading this book and didn't realise how much i needed the words that was on the pages! It really was that type of book. I loved how it spoke about all types of love. Like Donna Ashworth put it, not all love is the same. The way she wrote about the love we all feel we need to find in love really had me questioning my outlook on life!
I already have 10 people in mind that i will be gifting this book to once it is published. Honestly, i don't think i have ever been more excited to read more of a poet's books than i have with Donna Ashworth's!
Thank you for writing this beauty, Donna!
Love, by Donna Ashworth, is a poignant, beautiful, and soothing collection of poems on self-love, friendship, marriage, and children. They address the bonds that enrich our lives, shaping our perspectives on love, compassion, and forgiveness for ourselves and others.
It is exactly the collection of poems I needed to read. I needed to be reminded about the beauty of my dreams, worth, and soul. I needed to be reminded that I am loved and will always be loved because I will always have myself and never abandon myself.
This collection inspires, enlightens, and lifts all burdens: These poems moved me to tears. I understood their depth and value and would love to share them with my loved ones and friends. I want them to experience the joy of self-discovery, and the lessons that can be found in our pain and mistakes when we take the time to carefully reflect upon them.
