The third in the series but able to be read as a standalone.
Anna and her brother Henry didnt have a very good start in life and spent most of their childhood in a children's home. Anna made a friend but Henry remained a loner.
Having not seen her brother for 15 plus years Anna is surprised to get a visit from DI Walker, and even more surprised and shocked to hear Henry is the main suspect in 5 murders and the police need Anna's help to try and catch him.
So follows a fast paced thriller with Anna trying to work out the clues Henry is sending her, at least for 90% of the book. Other readers/reviewers have mentioned the twist, and yes there is one that I certainly didn't have an inkling for but in my opinion wothout giving spoilers it almost bordered on the ridiculous.
Having said that I did enjoy most of the book and feel that this is the best one so far

Another great instalment in the serial killer series, that said you can easily read this as a stand alone but I would definitely recommend investing in the trilogy

A great book from Alice Hunter, with a very unexpected twist at the end! Anna has worked hard for everything in her life after being bought up in the care system. Estranged from her brother Henry, she has no idea of his whereabouts until the police knock on her door one day. Henry, it would appear, is a serial killer and there is firm evidence that he will kill again. Anna needs to divulge details of her past to unlock the location of Henry’s next kill. Why is she so reluctant to help? It would appear Anna has a few secrets of her own…
An engaging read.

Wow! What a story! I loved how fast paced it was with such a shocking twist! I couldn't see it coming! Brilliant writing style and totally gripping!

Thank you to Netgalley and Alice Hunter for allowing me early access to this book

Alice Hunter does it again! Thank you to NetGalley for my ARC.
If you haven’t read her other books then you won’t know that there’s a Serial Killer’s husband and a Serial Killer’s daughter. Both books have the most incredible twists in.
What I love about this book was the false sense of security.
Anna is a respected teacher and she is happily married. But she did not have the happiest of childhoods.
She was in a children’s home with her little brother and they played games to keep themselves occupied. Only, her brother developed an unhealthy obsession with the games and his behaviour got out of hand.
In the present day there is a murder inquiry and one that Anna might be able to help with. After all, it’s her brother that has been doing the killings.
Can Anna solve the clues before he strikes again? Is everyone who they say they are? Who can be trusted in this game of lies and deception?
I’m still reeling from the ending. One that will keep you on your toes until the final line.
A brilliant story.

Alice Hunter is my ultimate favourite author and when I got chance to read The Serial Killer's Sister I could not wait and decided to read it as my holiday read.

I loved it, in honesty not as much as her previous work but nonetheless I devoured this novel and read it in a few days.

We meet Anna, who is happily married and works as a teacher at an exclusive private school. The police visit her and let her know that her brother Henry is a serial killer and has been killing for a few years on 2 dates every year. Anna is obviously surprised and this sets off a string of events that basically ruins Anna life. Not thinking straight she tells a child off and this is caught on CCTV and Anna realises that someone is out to get her.

Anna is left some clues to start The Hunt again that she and Henry did many years ago whilst living at an orphanage school and we get an insight of what made Anna and Henry the people that they are today.

Alice Hunter's writing is brilliant, I love the way she weaves the characters backstory into the present day and we get a real feel of these people. I would love to see her novels transcend onto TV/film as they are just wonderful.

Lots of gripping thrills and the ending was something that I did not see coming at all.

Thanks to NetGalley, Alice Hunter and the publishers for allowing me a copy of this novel in exchange for my honest review.

4.5 stars.

Thank you to Netgalley, Alice Hunter and Avon publishing for the advance copy to review.

Having read the other two in the series I was so excited to get a copy of this to read.

It did not disappoint. Super fast paced story told in dual timelines of then and now. We follow the story of Anna as her brother Henry plays a game of cat and mouse. Will Anna be the next victim?

Did not see the twists coming at all!!!

Excellent writing, enjoyable read. Would definitely recommend.

I read this in one day because I was so hooked on it. This book is part of a series, but you don't have to read the other books to understand this one. The author does an amazing job at leading the reader to thinking that they know what's going to happen but then dropping a plot twist at the least expected moment. There is a good exploration of morally gray characters. Overall, this is an amazing thriller that will keep you on the edge on your seat from the first page to the very last.

I still have chills down my spine!
Alice Hunter is such a clever writer undoubtedly due to her professional experiences as an interventions facilitator in a prison, and part of a team offering rehabilitation programmes to men serving sentences for a wide range of offences, often working with prisoners who'd committed serious violent crimes.
I am so grateful that professionals like this turn to writing books based on their experiences as it opens your eyes to a world we simply can't start to imagine or comprehend unless you have experienced it. Indeed, these criminal minds are for most part a sad product of our society and failures to take care of individuals during their impressionable young years. This professional knowledge from Alice Hunter makes some gripping reading and very insightful right to the last chapter of the book.

What a book, what a series, I hope everyone reads these ‘The Serial Killer’s….’ Series.

This book was just like the others, fast paced, twisty and an addictive read.

I found myself wanting to read it fast just so to find out what was going on. I didn’t see the twists coming and they are mind blowing! 🤯!

Told in Anna’s POV, it flits between present and past with her history with Henry.

I don’t want to say too much without giving any of the storyline away.

A very cunning and gripping thriller that I recommend for anyone to read.

Thanks to Netgalley and Avon Books for this early release copy.

This book will be released 11th May 2023!

This was very hard to put down once I started reading it due to the fast pacing of the story and how invested I became in the outcome for Anna. The twists and turns that we were lead through with her were perfectly choreographed to lead to where the story took us without giving away the final twist unless you were looking exactly the right way at the right time!

Alice Hunter's books have been a pleasure to read in the past and this one is no different. It was very easy to read with the way it flowed between the timelines showing us what happened before merging seamlessly with what is happening now. My only thought when I finished this book was "Why didn't she say something?" but then I did remember and realise that she was trying to, Doh!

If you've not read the other books from The Serial Killer's family by this author, I highly recommend them and if you have, you know how good this read will be already!

I really enjoyed the first two books in this series and this was no exception. Gripping and pacy with a few twists and turns that all added into a great plot line. Thank you to NetGalley, Avon Books UK and the author for the chance to review.

Having read the other books in this series I was interested to see if this one was as good. It did not disappoint. Anna's life begins to fall apart once she is contacted by the police and informed that she may the next possible target of a serial killer, whom they believe is her brother. Lots of red herrings in this very twisty psychological novel.
Thank you to NetGalley and Avon Books UK for the advance copy of this book.

I have read all The Serial Killer's Series and all been brilliant, think this was the most creepiest of them all. It was a fast paced thriller which kept me on the edge of my seat from the beginning until the last page and what an ending it was, just brilliant.

All the characters were well developed and I have nothing negative to say about this book.

Thank you to Netgalley and Avon Books for this fantastic ARC which I have no hesitation in recommending.

Firstly, thank you to Netgallery, Avon books and Alice Hunter for the ARC of this book in return for an honest review.

Alice Hunter has done it again she is the queen of thrillers! I’ve read all her books so I was ecstatic about getting my hands on her latest one! This book totally gripped me from the first page to the last, I was suspicious of everyone and everything in it. It was tense and fast paced thriller that will keep you up at night.

The twist and the turns in the novel are so clever that I was left thinking about it for days after. Alice Hunter definitely should be on everyones shelf!

Anna Price and her brother, Henry, grew up in the system after an abusive childhood.
Anna has built a nice life for herself with her husband, Ross. She has a beautiful house and a job she loves.
Then a detective comes to her door and utters the horrific words, “Your brother, Henry Lincoln, is wanted for the murder of multiple women.”
Anna finds out he has killed five women, will probably kill the next one in four days, and they need her help finding Henry before he gets to his next victim. Maybe the next victim will be Anna?
Anna and Henry played a game called The Hunt when they were little and living at Finley Hall, a children’s home, with her Kirsty and brother, Dean. Growing up, Henry had Anna solve riddles to find things, and it sometimes got dangerous. Henry is now leaving “grown-up” riddles for Anna to solve with possibly dangerous consequences.
Can she help solve Henry’s riddle with DI Walker before it is too late while her life is falling apart all around her?
In a game of cat and mouse, Anna follows the clues to find out why her brother killed the women and if she is next.
The Serial Killer’s Sister is a book with a twist you will never see coming, and you are sure to remember for a long time!

Wow wow wow! Loved this from the beginning, I could've read it in one sitting but I had to restrain myself. There's lots happening throughout, flipping between present day and times in the past, but it's easy to follow. The chapters are short and there's lots of twist and turns. My last thought when ready this what WHAT?!?!?! Definitely recommend.

Alice Hunter just gets better and better! Anna Price has a good life - a great job and a lovely husband. But with the arrival of the police at her front door one morning, everything changes within a matter of days.

I loved the idea of Anna helping the police to track down her estranged brother, Henry, who's a suspected serial killer. But since she believes she'll be his next victim, there's a huge risk for Anna.

The story switches from present to past as we find out more about Anna and her brother and why he might be capable of such heinous crimes. The first person narrative for the present chapters made for immersive reading and I really felt each dilemma that Anna went through.

This is a fast-paced read that gripped me from the beginning. And it has a perfect twist that I did not guess! A fantastic read!

Anna and Henry escaped a drug using, neglecting mother and step father and end up in a care home, which itself presented many issues for the pair. They stay connected by playing a game they invented called The Hunt, hiding a precious item of the other and leaving a series of riddles to its location.
Twenty years on, a detective calls on Anna to advise Henry is a serial killer, leaving riddles with each victim and always in certain dates and the date for the next killing is only days away. Anna needs to think back to her childhood for links to the clues and help find Henry before he attacks again.
A true masterpiece, the ending is just keeps giving, with twist upon twist. You could easily divulge this in one sitting with the compelling storyline. Would recommend this to any crime fiction fan.

Alice Hunter is an author that can do no wrong in my eyes. The Serial Killer's Sister is another wonderful gem for the collection and a book I have devoured in just one sitting. This is an unputdownable, addictive and gripping read. Hunter has pulled me in and kept me captive until the very last page.

This is a book that is filled with tension and suspense. There is no way to predict how this would go. it is a book worthy of all the stars.

The next, and darkest one in the series, you would not want to go to this family’s reunion.
The sister’s trauma is heartbreaking but still a page turning read. Hunter is putting her best effort into this one- don’t miss!

Absolutely loved this book from start to finish and did not see the ending coming!

Despite a childhood in the care system, Anna Price believes shehas beaten the odds, left her previous life and everyone in it to move on and build an idyllic sounding life for herself - a beautiful seaside home, a devoted husband, a best friends and a job she absolutely loves. But one day all that changes.

When Detective Inspector Walker appears at Anna’s door, her world begins to fall apart. It seems her estranged brother Henryis a wanted serial killer, and the police need Anna’s help to catch him before he strikes again. Then when things couldn't get any worse and Anna is having to relive nightmares she had packed away, an envelope turns up on her doorstep and that childhood game of 'Hunt' is back to haunt her, only this time there is a life at stake and Anna must solve the riddle to win at all costs…
