This little book packs big fun. The colors are fabulous and really help make learning fun. I think this should be on everyone's gift list for that little person in their life.
As you can see from the cover, the book is a full colour illustration children's nonfiction.
The illustrations are super super eye pleasing.
Even for the kids who are not into dinosaur, this book could be a good introduction.
The shape ratio, name, and the pronunciation is provided since it might be hard for kids to learn how to say the names.
The explanation is easy to understand and the activity is quite interesting.
My dinosaur loving little guy adored this book. He enjoyed the engaging illustrations and interactive features. He was so proud of himself every time he located a different dinosaur. This book could be hours of fun for any kiddo with a love of dinosaurs.
This book is really for the little dinosaur lovers out there. It's more informational and factual and search and find type of book, not a story as such.
I loved the colorful pictures and the information was good for the intended age group.
Love the vibrant illustrations and search-and-find aspects of the book. Sure to grab little readers' attention! There are a lot of big words for little ones which can be great learning tools. I do wish the book was consistent in using phonetic pronunciation for all of the types of dinosaurs as there are a few each page that only show the name with no pronunciation, but overall I think this will be an educational book for kids of all ages.
This book was SO fun! My kiddos loved playing detective to find the dinosaurs. We all enjoyed learning about the different categories and the fun facts on each page. The illustrations are vibrant and a joy to look at with fun scenes unfolding on each new page. Would absolutely recommend this book to a friend with small kids.
My grandson loved searching for the dinosaurs and other items. Lots of fun. We had a good time hunting and learning.
This is a very cute book! The search-and-find element is fun for little kids, but it also has little nuggets of information about the dinosaurs featured. The illustrations are fun and colorful, and the scenes are fun for kids to explore. Some of the pronunciations were included, but I wish it was all of them. My kiddos enjoyed interacting with this book!
Thank you to Chouette Publishing CrackBoom! Books and NetGalley for providing an advance reader copy for us to review. My family recommends it!
Daughter abostly loved this book . Kept saying aww when I was reading it to her. 5 star book. I do plan on rereading more of this book to her especially next year. Highly recommend this book
What a fun book! Perfect for dinosaur lovers or kids who love learning new things.
Brightly colored, captivating pages filled with fun facts about different dinosaurs, people who study them, items to look for, & much more.
(I was able to preview this book in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own & my kids and I really enjoyed the book.)
I received a copy of this book through Netgalley. This is my honest review.
This was a mildly informative seek and find book, which is more impressive now that I know it's also a board book (because I NEVER learn my lesson and look at that when downloading books on Netgalley). It was not a Where's Waldo level of difficulty so I got to feel super smart when I found each dinosaur in mere seconds (lol). I'm fairly certain the seek and find aspect is mostly to keep kids engaged, not so much for us adults. I learned that what I've always thought were flying dinosaurs weren't actually dinosaurs though, like the pteranodon. So that's kind of cool. It's not often I learn things from board books at my age.
The illustrations used bold, bright colors and solid lines. No soft fuzziness here. This is a book that I could pretty easily be talked into reading a few times, even though it's a little more dry than most kids books. Overall I give it 4.2 out of 5 stars.
I have a 2 year old and a 6 year old and this book is perfect for both of them! This is one of the things I love the most about books like this one.
A two year old can search for the dinosaurs and learn the names while the six year old can learn the facts about each dino.
The author was so smart dividing the dinosaurs up by specific characteristics. The bonus is the modern excavation site part at the end! That’s not typically in educational dinosaur books so that’s brilliant. It’s good to educate kids how we are able to have books like these.
The only thing I would’ve suggested to the author is to give the book some sort of ending. Kids like a story. It would’ve been perfect to have a character at the beginning briefly explaining the book and then at the end, say a farewell. But otherwise, perfection :)
Colors are vibrant, pictures aren’t too small, easy to read, fun facts, I would buy this book and I would recommend it, too!
The illustrations are lovely, quirky, and vividly colored. I loved the search-and-find game aspect of this book, but I believed the detail and clues section should have been separate from that of the picture. It would have made a better reading experience.
Little Detectives Dinosaurs is a bright and fun book exploring dinosaurs of all types. Each page is covered with eye catching illustrations that go along with the educational explanations of the dinosaurs and their surroundings. This is a for sure hit for your Dino loving kiddo.
What a fun read! Little Detectives: Dinosaurs is full of beautiful illustrations and a fun storyline.
The author and illustrator did a great job in producing a book that will be enjoyed by many.
Thank you NetGalley, and the Publisher for the eARC! A fact filled book for dinosaur lovers! The pictures are cute and colorful and not scary, so this is perfect for young dinosaur lovers. Lots to look at on each page. I like how the dinosaurs are categorized as well. Would recommend to add to a dinosaur lover's library for sure!
I read this book with my 5 year old daughter and she was absolutely infatuated with it! She loved all the fun facts and graphics in the book. I think this book is great for ages 3-7. Your young one can definitely find the pictures and the older ones can find the pictures and read the fun facts! Such a lovely read. Highly recommend ♥️
The perfect seek-and-find book for little dinosaur lovers. The artwork was visually pleasing and this book kept my littlest boy engaged while the super cool dinosaur facts kept my biggest boy chatting about dinosaurs. If you have a dino loving child, I definitely recommend this book.
Thank you, NetGalley and Chouette Publishing for the opportunity to read and review this fun children's title!
My daughter has been obsessed with dinosaurs since she was 2. It's hard to find dinosaur stuff that doesn't look like it was made just for boy. I love the colors in this book and the story line. My daughter who is now almost 4 loved this book. She has made me read it again several times since we first read it.
This book is a lot of fun for kids of all ages, the drawings are adorable and the story is super cute. definitely recommend this one to any kid (or adult!) that loves dinosaurs.
Thank you to Netgalley for providing an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
Where can I buy this book? Because I'm going to need it immediately!
I tried to read this to my son, but he's still a little young. He enjoyed looking at the pictures of the dinosaurs, but the information went over his head. This book is definitely for an older demographic of kid, or for an adult who loves dinosaurs, like me. I particularly enjoyed the pronunciation of the lesser known dinosaur names and some useful and fun facts.
Like pterodactyls weren't really dinosaurs?! I've lived 31 years on this earth thinking they were!
It's clear so much effort, time, and research went into this book. It's broken up into categories and there are lots of fun ways parents and children can interact with this book. Whenever it gets published, I'm picking up a copy!
Adorable! The pictures were colorful and eye-catching, and the information included on the pages was just enough to educate little ones without boring them. We will definitely be purchasing for our Dino-loving girl when Little Detectives: Dinosaurs is published!
It is no secret that kids are fascinated with dinosaurs. Some of my student's first words are long names of dinosaurs, funnily enough! This book gives bright, beautiful illustrations, as well as pronunciations and facts about different kinds of dinosaurs. Readers will also enjoy the "I Spy" aspect on each page.
I want. to buy this book for my preschool class right away!
Little Detectives: Dinosaurs by Carine Laforest
A Look-and-Find Book
This little book had fun facts and cute illustrations about dinosaurs. All the dinosaurs looked friendly and colorful. I would say this book is good for around 2-5 years old as far as the look-and-find part of the book goes. The facts might be good for that age group and maybe slightly older. I also liked that they showed how we look for dinosaur bones in modern day. Overall, a cute book that is definitely great for younger kids!
Thank you NetGalley, Carine Laforest, Karina Dupuis (illustrator), and Chouette Publishing for allowing me to read this advanced copy of Little Detectives: Dinosaurs.
Sixteen pages of amazing dinosaurs informations. My son was looking for indicated dinosaurs and hidden objects. He had fun reading and unraveling the mysteries. He met, among others: Triceratops, Diplodocus, Aerodactylus and Ceratosaurus. Do you know who Eomaia was? Who is considered the ancestor of the squirrel? You will learn this and much more while reading "DINOSAURS. With lots of fascinating dino facts!".
The book contains beautiful illustrations. Perfect for all kids who love dinosaurs.
