When her marriage falls apart, Jess is unsure what to do. On impulse she heads to Cornwall to her grandparents' farm to see what she can do to making it working again. Meeting Riley, Mr. Fix-It, and helping her daughter Lola come out of her shell add to the mix. Fun story, and one I would highly recommend.

You follow Jess doing up the old buildings , supporting new businesses , falling in love and learning to let her daughter go back to her x and his new partner. I loved how Jess through herself into every thing. Her grandfather was a great character and her parents were great. I am hoping we might get a sequel .

This was a story about finding yourself after a divorce.

After her husband tells Jess that it’s over, she and her daughter Lola move to her grandparents farmhouse in Cornwall for a fresh start.

That’s where she met Riley and they were so fun together!

This is a summer read I would highly recommend!

I loved this book so much.
As I was reading it it felt likei was there with jess telling me what's going on.
It is written beautifully and so like real life that I didn't want to put it down and I was really sad when it ended.

This was a delightful read and a fun escape to the English countryside of Cornwall!

Surprised by her husband’s announcement that their marriage is over, Jess escapes with her daughter, Lola, to the comfort of her grandparent’s farm of her youth. Jess and Lola slowly restart their lives with new friendships, multiple challenges and fresh air at the rundown farm.

As Jess rehabs the farm’s buildings with the help of Riley, a local Mr. Fix-It, she also rehabs her life.
It is not the turn of events that are surprising, but Jess’ reaction to them as her character matures and learns how to react to them.

This was a fun and easy to read story with likable characters that leave you looking forward to a sequel! My first, but not my last escape with Linn B. Halton!

Thank you #Net Galley and #Aria&Aries for the ARC !

Summer at the Cornish Farmhouse , a warm, busy story of Jess and her 8 year old starting life afresh after Jess's divorce.

It is a story of second chances and starting a new chapter in life for most of the characters on a sleepy, forgotten Farmhouse which is coming alive in all possible ways. I quite enjoyed the hustle bustle, budding friendships and romances .

This was a delightful fun read. Set in the gorgeous countryside of Cornwall with the sea tantalisingly close enough to sniff.
Jess thought that her life was planned out - married with a child until her husband tells her he doesn’t love her anymore and wants a divorce. With a new life for her and Lola her daughter she relocates to her grandparents farm in Cornwall to start a new life managing the campsite. Along the way she discovers that her marriage hasn’t been right for her, finds some new support and realises her true worth.

This was a sweet, feel-good book set in Cornwall. It was a lovely, light-hearted read. I think it is the kind of book that I would pick up when I feel like a different kind of escape. The type of book that I will enjoy once and then pass on to someone else to enjoy, because reading it might cheer them up too.

This is an excellent feel good read. It has a range of characters of various ages and personalities. As the story builds the reader is filled in on the history of the various characters and this leads to a really rounded tale filled with fun, friendship, love and optimism.

A gentle romance based in a beautiful coastal setting. A real adult look at divorce and the impact on the children as well as both parents. Such a good flow to this book as futures are forged and new ideas tested out. The confidence that grows in the book in both Jess and Riley is palpable.

I have read quite a few of this author's books now and have loved each one, I adore her light-hearted easy-to-read writing style and her tender and wholesome stories, you really can't get any better from the genre then reading a Linn B. Halton book!

Summer at the Cornish farmhouse is an absolute delight, it's charming, heart-warming, full of warmth and lots and lots of heart, i loved it, it has easily become my favourite of Linn's books (to date).

This is a proper second chance story of a woman after her diverse moves to Cornwall with her grandfather, hoping for a new life with her daughter and a chance to move past the heartache. She has no intention of love or romance, and she isn't searching for another beau - which are really the best stories aren't they when love just appears when you least expect it"!

This is when Riley walks in, a man of all trades who offers to help her and her grandfather with renovations on the farm. I loved the relationship between them, it's a slow-burner and I wondered if they would ever even make it as the romance is so subtly and beautifully written but I do see more for this couple in the future,, maybe a sequel? or a series?

Overall this is utterly charming!

Linn’s novels are both class- delightful to read. Jess’s life turns upside down and she finds it hard to accept that her marriage is over. Whatever Jess plans to do the main decider is to protect and nurture her daughter Lola. Warm, touching and romantic, Jess realises the importance of friendship and local community

After divorce and bereavement, Jess is starting over in her Grandparents old house, working to renovate a number of old buildings and make a new life for her and her daughter. The helpful delivery man from the builder's merchants turns up at just the right time.

I loved this book. The characters are well written, the story is captivating. I could do with a map, as I got a little lost about where buildings were in relation to each other.

I'm so glad this is a series, I can't wait to find out what happens at Renweneth Manor next.

Another excellent read by Linn!
Linn creates a world that you are lost in once you start turning pages. Jess and Lola are creating a new life after a family breakup, and I loved the intricate details of house renovations wound around Jess rebuilding her confidence and starting over, with the hint of a new relationship to come. Couldn’t put it down.

While renovating outbuildings and reinstating a farmer's market Jess falls in love with builder Riley.

An uplifting romance. After Jess's marriage breaks down, she, with her daughter Lola, takes over the farmhouse in Cornwall. Jess meets Riley after he delivers building material, and together, they renovate the farmhouse.
A light summer read. This was easy to fall into. It's the kind of place I could imagine myself in.
The characters were all likeable (except maybe Jess's ex-husband) I particularly liked Cappy.

Her Grandad Gabe throws her a lifeline when he offers her his home in Cornwall. It's all about second chances. Jess is crushed when her husband leaves her but her grandfather Gabe has a terrific idea- go to Cornwall and work on his property. So off Jess goes with her daughter Lola and they slowly start to rebuild themselves. There's a lot of work to be done and, as it turns out Riley the handyman is terrific. And he helps both of them in more way than one. This might be a bit trope-y but it's set in Cornwall and the characters are delightful. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. A good read.

Jess is heartbroken when her husband Ben ends their marriage and starts a new relationship. Jess and her eight year old daughter Lola move to Cornwell to live in and old farm house that had belonged to her grandparents. As well as the old farmhouse there are a few old buildings that need renovating so they can be made available as holiday accommodation and a camp ground managed by a friend of Jess’s grandfather. Jess makes new friends and learns new skills as she helps a builder repair old buildings on the farm.
A romance about families, friendships and new beginnings.

Jess is heartbroken when her husband Ben tells her that he no longer loves her! She moves to Cornwall with her eight-year-old daughter Lola & takes over her grandparent's home & business. The farmhouse & surrounding buildings need renovation & Jess finds help from Riley, a delivery driver who also does home repairs. Riley becomes a great support with Jess's plans to work on the out buildings, & they make a great team.

Follow the story of their friendship, supporting family & changes in Jess' life. Such a lovely book that felt warm & comforting to read & I would love to read more of their story. Recommended read.

Really enjoyed this book. I think it’s a good summer read, it has lots of wonderful characters, strong women roles, heartbreak, and happiness, what more could you ask of a book. Love the book cover and really hope it becomes a series, hoping Ivy and Adam are the next book!!

ess’s heart is broken when her husband, Ben, tells her he no longer loves her and wants a divorce. Shortly afterward, Jess’s grandmother passes away unexpectedly, leaving her grandfather devastated. But, it’s at that time that he decides to move away from his Cornish farmhouse in need of renovating. So, Jess and her daughter, Lola, 8, decide to move into the farmhouse. She then begins the huge undertaking of renovating the farmhouse, outbuildings for holiday makers, and gardens. There is also the empty Renweneth Manor house that also needs a lot of work.

Jess works hard and has accomplished a lot. But she has limited funds to get the work done and has to be careful how she spends it. When she meets Riley, she is pleased to learn he does home repairs and agrees to work for her. He has a good reputation and promises hard work.

As Riley becomes full time working for Jess, they spark an attraction to one another. Although the work is not without problems, they persevere. Jess’s friends and family are all very close and are happy to spend time together.

This is a good story of the problems we face in life and the mettle that it takes to overcome them. The love of family and friends are featured in this this delightful book. I was quite taken with the in-depth plot and descriptions that the author gives the reader. An enjoyable read. Don’t miss it!

I don't usually read romance because the women often annoy me by being sappy. Jess is not sappy! She moves herself and her young daughter down to Cornwall to make a business out of a guesthouse and campsite. The guesthouse needs a lot of work to get it in shape and she calls upon friends and family to help, when the jobs get too big.

Gradually,Jess and Lola settle into their new life, make friends and plan the expansion of the business. A love interest quietly creeps into her life without fanfare which is a refreshing way to approach things, for me. I'd happily read another if this turns into a series, as a gentle, but not dull, read.

A lovely second-chance romance in a coastal Cornish setting. Jess finally acknowledges the end of her marriage when her husband, Ben, asks for a divorce. Seeking counsel from her Grandmother, she received excellent and prophetic advice. A year later, still hurt and lost, she takes the opportunity to live on her Grandfather's farm and renovate the buildings and her life. This uplifting read has community spirit, family love and friendship to help her make a new start for her daughter. The conflicts are numerous, and romance is not on her to-do list, but Riley is a rare find and proves to be a good friend.

I like the family and friend dynamic, the emotional growth of the protagonists and the mix of humour, poignancy and romance. It's a Summer escapist read that hugs you, perfect.
