- write a disappointment diary
- fill in their anger thermometer
- write their emotional observations in fluffy clouds
- perform a “jealousy diagnosis” on a page resembling a doctor’s clipboard
- find words in an emotion-based word search and more!
In addition, young readers can learn mindfulness techniques such as using their senses to ground themselves, doing a body scan, or sitting silently and feeling gratitude for those who give them strength. With 19 emotions and tons of activities and reflections to explore, kids (and caregivers) can look forward to hours of engaging emotional exploration.

Thank you NetGalley and Shambhala Publications for a copy of the Feeling All the Feelings Workbook!
What a wonderful tool! It helps readers explore emotions and help connect our feelings and our bodily experiences. It has tools to teach children mindfulness and emotion regulation. I highly suggest this to parents, caregivers, and professionals who work with children. One criticism I do have is that I'm not sure this is suitable for younger children due to the words used and the length of the paragraphs. However, it can be a tool for 1-1 time with an adult! Overall, wonderful tool to help children explore their emotions. <3
The 'Feeling all the Feelings Workbook' is an incredible resource for individuals seeking to navigate and process a range of emotions through a series of creative and constructive activities. This unique book offers practical tools to work through 20 different types of emotions, providing readers of all ages with a valuable resource for emotional regulation.
The author's approach is not only centered on understanding and managing our own emotions, but also on gaining insights into why we experience emotions such as grouchiness, jealousy, and boredom. As a result, the book provides a valuable framework for a lifelong journey of emotional intelligence and personal growth.
It would be beneficial for schools to include this topic in their curriculum and offer guidance to students on how to effectively communicate their emotions with others. The workbook includes charming illustrations to help illustrate the various emotions and clear objectives for each activity, making it a highly accessible and engaging resource for anyone seeking to improve their emotional well-being.
This book is a very easy explanation of emotions for children. The exercises are simple enough but help them to understand what each emotion is. This should be required reading for every elementary student
This is a lovely workbook that I could use with my students. The pictures are super cute and very visually appealing with the colors. I do wonder if the age range is a little off as some of the paragraphs are quite large. The words that are covered are great and the scenarios are fun.
Really enjoyed!
Feeling All the Feelings Workbook is a great tool to help young children (ages 6-9) identify, understand, and process their thoughts, feelings, and somatic senses. What I really enjoy about the structure of this book is that Brad Petersen helps children identify what they are feeling, why that particular feeling is helpful (what it teaches us), and how we recognize it in our bodies and in our minds. This is a great skill to teach children while they are young in order for them to learn to identify when they are dysregulated and how to cope with difficult feelings.
The illustrations throughout the book are fun, colorful, and playful and bring each emotion to life. There are even things like a disappointment diary and space to create some ideas for what what fun, play, and processing our emotions can look like.
This workbook is a great developmental bibliotherapy tool for parents and educators alike to support young children on their emotional wellness journey early on and provide them with the tools needed to understand themselves and their emotions better.
Thank you to the author and publisher for the e-arc copy!
This book gives an explanation for twenty different feelings. Each explanation is followed by activities that a child can do related to those feelings. The explanations and activities are quite simple, which makes them great for independent work.
This is a great one! Maybe a little advanced overall for my son (who is almost 4) but I think he would do well with a good 30% of this book, and I look forward to getting this for him when he's a bit older. I feel like it does a great job at not only defining the different emotions (SUPER important) but also giving lots of ways to think about and ponder how those emotions apply to our life and how we can better handle them in the future.
I really like this book and think it will be great for kids of all ages (and maybe some adults too). The book goes through several different feelings, why they are important, what they might feel like. Especially for neurodivergent kids, this book will help kids break down their feelings and understand more about their emotions and their bodies.
I loved getting to preview this Feeling All The Feelings Workbook - it is great for kids of all ages (some with parent assistance of course!) and would be particularly helpful if it came as a dry erase book, to use some of the activities over and over. I love that the emotions have their own sections to make it easy to zone in on what needs to be worked on. Highly recommend!
Thank you to Shambhala Publications, Bala Kids and NetGalley for this ARC!
