Frequently Asked Questions
Why did you begin writing? I guess I finally found the
time and energy to sit down and write. The stories have been flowing for years,
but it takes a lot of time to write and a lot of commitment.
Why do you write so many genres, romance, sci/fi, and children? I have so many stories in my head, so I couldn’t limit myself to one genre.
Where do the stories come from? I dream of most of my stories or an idea will just pop in my head, but most of my ideas come to me late at night.
Are any of your stories true or based on real life? No is my answer for most of my stories, but A Faded Cottage is close to me since I have ET. I wrote the story on my birthday. I was tired of my tremors and having to explain why I shook, so I began writing and Quaid Witherspoon was born.
What advice can you give me about writing? Write, write, and write.
Which story is your favorite? That is a hard question. I love all my characters and each one is dear to me. I will let others decide the answer to this question.
How long does it take you to write a novel? The first draft takes about a month, and then rewrites can take up to a year or more, since I think of new stories in between.
Which authors have inspired you to write? There are way too many to say, but a few authors from the past that I love are: sci/fi, Edgar R Burroughs; children, Madeleine L’Engle; romance, Margaret Mitchell, and mysteries, Agatha Christie.
Do you write longhand or work on a computer? I write on a computer because of my tremors, but Legend of the Diaries was first written in longhand.
Do you work from a outline? No, I just begin and keep writing.
What are your hobbies? I love to travel, cook, garden and I used to do cross-stitch. I also love music and I love to play golf when I have time.
