This is a collection of short devotions to encourage grandparents in their relationship with their grandchildren. Grandparents play an important role in the lives of their grandchildren, This book uses scripture and short stories to illuminate the significant legacy one leaves when they invest in this wonderful relationship.

I loved this devotional book focused towards grandparents. In today’s society, grandparents are taking more of an everyday presence in the lives of grandchildren. It’s so important to pray for and guide these children as best we can, as we ourselves are led by God.

I enjoyed reading devotions specifically for those in the grandparenting years. They encouraged me to redeem the time I have left without being morbid :) The fact is, I have fewer years left than ever, and I do want to make the most of the time I have to impact my kids, my grandkids, and the world around me. I appreciated the call to arms and the practical suggestions for how to apply what I read in the devotion to my life. My only suggestion for future titles is to give attribution to the writers somehow. While I know every devotion was written by someone, knowing a teeny bit about them, their name or even just their initials makes the devotion seem more personal, like it was written by a real person, not just a publishing house. I’ve read other Our Daily Bread devotionals that include attribution, and I’ve come to feel like the writers are my friends (and yes, I have a few favorites :)

What a wonderful devotional book for grandparents. I absolutely loved each one of these 100 devotions. Each daily devotion has a scripture, a short reading and a prayer which takes less than 5 minutes to read. It is a wonderful way to start or end your day by thinking about and praying for your grandchildren.
This would make a perfect gift for the grandparent in your child's life.
I highly recommend this book.

Moments with God for Grandparents,100 Devotions to Connect Faith and Family by Our Daily Bread is written very similar to their daily published devotions. There is a scripture reading, a devotion of several paragraphs, a short sample prayer and an action-thought for the day. A well-done, clear, and concisely written. Many of the devotions deal with the grandparent’s spiritual life which makes sense if we are wanting to impact our grandchildren’s spiritual lives. The relationship building is wonderful, and my experience has been that the young and old often have wonderful times together.

I especially liked how the relationship building suggestions were for those whose grandchildren may not live near by as well as those who do as well as unrelated to me children who may live in the neighborhood. Since retirement my sphere of social influence has narrower somewhat, so I greatly appreciated this book’s Godly thought and suggestions on how to continue making a positive impact on others.

I highly recommend Moments with God for Grandparents.
