Beautiful, just beautiful.

The book is captivating, from the first to the last word, and although I read it on my ipad, the illustrations added to the sensation of reading it.

The author follows the life of Siddhartha, the son of a Brahmin and in particular his inner evolution through his encounter with different characters, towards spiritual purity and inner peace.

Its the first book by Hermann Hesse that I have read and I will definitely look out for his others.

I can't say anything more than Beautiful, just beautiful.

I cant believe i have already read this years ago but forgot to write a review! So, when i seen that a new illustratied version was due to be released i took the opportunity to check it out.

The story itself by this author is one of my favourites. This is where i first fell in love with Hesse's work. This is the story of Siddhartha and his journey to learn about the ways of the Buddha, self discovery and enlightenment. It is a true classic. Even years later re reading this i still have the same love for this. We follow the young Brahmin on his journey through lifes trials and tribulations. The message is insightful and a great learning experience to analyse our own lifes journey.

This new colourful addition is very eye catching. Each page has a little bit of beauty within. This complements the story very well and it is a great way to re introduce an award winning story.

I could not find the addition on goodreads yet to add my review to but many thanks to Quarto publishing group, Wellfleet Press and Netgalley for an ARC on this new addition.

First, this edition of Siddhartha is absolutely beautiful. From the end papers to the color details on the pages, and the beautiful chapter headings. Second, I really love this story. I think stories like Siddhartha are so important. This story encompass so many aspects of the human experience in a quest/journey style story and you can truly feel Siddhartha's growth and development as a person. I think that this story is a beautiful way to recenter what truly matters in life and there are a lot of take aways from this book. I think Hermann Hesse's writing style is thought provoking and so intentional. Absolutely love this book!
