This retelling of the Peter Pan story is a fun way to introduce Peter Pan and the Lost Boys, Tinkerbell, and the three children, Wendy, Michael and John to your child. This follows the popular story in theme and content, and is accompanied by adorable illustrations. This is a great way to encourage your child's imagination!
Thanks Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to review this advanced review copy (ARC) in exchange for my honest review on the book!
I was so happy when I saw this Peter Pan book available to request!! I LOVE Peter Pan, but hadn’t had a chance to read it to my little yet so this was very timely.
The illustrations are beautiful and fit the age level the story is targeting beautifully (2 year old/ preschool in my opinion). The writing is simple but engaging and while my munchkin isn’t reading yet, I think in a year from now she could be reading these kind of books. Overall we just really enjoyed the story!
My First Classic Tales - Peter Pan is a lovely version of the original story.
With the use of beautiful, bright illustrations the book is perfect for young children.
It is a charming version of the classic, telling the story of Peter Pan, Captain Hook, Tinkerbelle and the Darling children. It is short enough to hold the child's attention.
My 3 year old loved the book. She enjoyed the story and was totally engaged from beginning to end, pointing out the characters and talking about what was happening throughout. She has asked to re read it several times!
I would highly recommend this book to children aged between 2-5 years.
My First Classic Tales: Peter Pan is a picture book retelling of Peter Pan that closely resembles the animated movie. This would be a great read for any children who love the movie and are looking for the story before bed. I loved the gentleness of illustrations and how they portrayed the characters expressions and actions really well.
In this retelling of Peter Pan, the main part of the story are captured and retold. The illustrations in this book were great and really helped to tell the story. It was nice to see the story of Peter Pan again, in a way that’s easy for younger kids to understands. My three year old son enjoyed this book and I enjoyed getting to share it with him. Overall, with the story and the illustrations, this is definitely a good classic story retold.
I would say it is a unique peter pan retelling since it did not follow the original storyline closely. It still has the core essence of the og tale but spun with more fun additions like wendy travelling with other companions, and how she brings joy to the lost boys, and also the mermaid, I did not remember having a mermaid in the og story, did it?
However, i think what makes this story fun to read is the the way dialogues are majorly integrated throughout the story, setting funner reading mood. And the illustrations are good, colourful and vibrant to eyes.
I think this version could spark interest in younger children, cause it's slightly different but enjoyable! Thank you netgalley for the advanced copy, looking forward to reading other books in the series♥️
Such a good quick read i love Peter Pan anything to do with Neverland and the characters is amazing to me. I would read it myself not just to my kids but i would read it for me its adorable and just a good story. I would highly recommend.
This is a good, simplified version of the classic Peter Pan story. The illustrations are great and the story is easy enough for younger children to understand. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced reader copy of this title in exchange for my honest review.
A shortened story of Peter Pan, Wendy, John, Michael and Tinkerbell, who travelled to Neverland, made new friends, fought pirates, and had a wonderful journey. This version was obviously made for younger children who just started to read, with short sentences and abbreviated tale. It is also fun reading this version.
