Fake medium. True love?

Fake spirit medium Gretchen Acorn may be a fraud, but she's a benevolent one. So when her client asks her to help a friend who's struggling to sell his apparently haunted goat farm, who's Gretchen to say no?

It turns out said farmer isn't quite as Gretchen imagined. Charlie Waybill is young, hot as hell, and extremely unconvinced by Gretchen. And things get even worse for Gretchen when she finds herself face to face with Everett: a very real, very chatty ghost.

Everett wants Gretchen to help save Charlie from the family curse that's left him haunting Gilded Creek since the 1920s. Now Gretchen has one month to win over the sceptical farmer. And as they grow closer, Gretchen realises the only way to pull off the greatest con of her life might be to finally risk her heart.

Loved this!
Refreshing to see a FMC in a romance with actual flaws and not just quirks!
Funny and lighthearted but did have a couple of emotional moments, which made even my cold, cold heart feel something!
Will definitely be on the lookout for more from this author!

This was an incredible cozy romance. It reminded me of a warm cup of tea and a few times I slowed down reading just so I could savour this a little longer.

We have a feisty FMC, a hilarious and devious Side Kick and a grump MMC to contend with and they will 100% steal your heart.

This is one of those books that remind me that loving someone isn’t in the big moments. It’s in the tiny moments and connections that we make and care for each other. It’s truly seeing one another and every part of my heart was happy after finishing this!

Go read and be happy!

5 stars - this was a treat!

Happy medium tells the story of Gretchen, who is a con artist. She tricks people by "talking to the dead". Her client hires her to exorcise a ghost from her friend Charlie's goat farm.

Charlie turns out to be a young man who doesn't believe in ghosts. But what - Gretchen meets a real ghost at the goat farm, who says that he is a relative of Charlie, and he is stuck haunting the farm due to a curse. He tells that Charlie faces death if he sells the farm. So Gretchen would have to convince Charlie that a) the farm is haunted, and b) under no circumstances should Charlie sell the farm.

Gretchen ends up staying at a farm where she grows to love the farm life and gets to know Charlie.

I really liked this book! Emmett the ghost was a hilarious character and Gretchen's development as a person was interesting to watch. The sparking tension between Gretchen and Charlie was delicious.

The book was funny, emotional and romantic. A wonderful work!

What to expect:

a ghost
goats
a farm
enemies to lovers
difficult past
slow burn
