This is a super cute story, perfect for bedtime. My son thought the monster was so funny and he enjoyed when the story asked him to turn off the light for the monster. The last page with text was great too. My son wants to sleep with his own monster now.
Definitely a fun bedtime story!
This was really adorable! My kids love everything spooky so this sweet bed time story was perfect for them. The art was great, colourful and eye catching and I loved how it engaged the readers. It was perfect for reading out loud too which is the number one thing I look for with picture books!
Wait no I didn't expect this to be so wholesome! I absolutely love the art style and the chatty, conversational format of the story. I'm 33 years old and I found myself chuckling and wanting to hop into my own bed immediately! Such a fun read and a clever way to help children wind down and prepare for bedtime. Loved it and would recommend.
Cute bedtime story for children with a little touch of horror, because there is a monster but that's about it, nothing scary for the little ones, don't worry!.
What a fun bedtime storybook to read aloud to young children! It has everything needed to bring about giggles and, hopefully, pleasant dreams. The monster in the illustrations is adorable and the text is hilarious.
A super cute children's book for you to read before bed! The artwork is super cute and the story is easy and fun to read!
*Thanks Netgalley and Quarto Publishing Group – White Lion, Happy Yak for sending me an arc in exchange for an honest review*
Where do monsters go, when they're ready to sleep? Under the bed, of course! This is a super cute children's picture book about a monster sleepover! When the reader insists that they sleep ON the bed, Monster is a bit reluctant to say the least. But will he be open to change???
I read this book to my 8 year old son, and he enjoyed it, though he did feel that it would be better for younger kids. Despite that, he said that he liked the pictures and thought it was funny.
As a librarian, I could absolutely see this book being popular with my families who have young children! In fact, it would be perfect for the PJ party events that we host!
🧚🏻A big thank you goes out to NetGalley, Quarto Publishing Group – White Lion, and author, Guilherme Karsten for providing me with a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!
This is adorable and I love the illustrations! I can imagine myself reading this story to my little one and all the fun he will have interacting with the sleepy monster.
This is a fantastic, cute little bedtime story. Are your kids scared of the monster under the bed? Well, then, invite the monster for a sleepover. Before you know it, you'll all be comfy and sleeping the night away.
Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this gorgeous little picture book.
I read this to my 6 year old son and he absolutely loved it. He really enjoyed that "the monster is actually speaking to me". Definitely buying this one fir the collection.
5/5 stars
Thank you to Netgalley, the publishers, and Guilherme Karsten for allowing me to read and review this book.
This is such a cute book. It would be very helpful for any kids that are afraid of the monster under the bed. It shows that they aren't so bad, but actually just tired as well. I look forward to reading this book to my future children.
Read this to my kids and they both loved it. Fun story for bedtime with silly interactive questions? Both 7 and 9 year old enjoyed it.
This is such a perfect bedtime story. Short sweet and cute with adorable pics. I think putting the spin of the monster thinking it’s weird to climb into the bed instead of under it will crack kids up
had so much fun reading this book, the story is so adorable and the illustrations were so well done and charming, there’s so many little details in every page that I couldn’t stop but be mesmerized by it all. I will definitely be recommending it! Thank you netgalley and the publisher for this early copy
This is an adorable bed time story, and I just know my niblings would love it. The monster is cute, and I think young kids would love it. The illustration is adorable.
This was lovely. I read it aloud to my wife and this will make a perfect read aloud to a child at bedtime. Gorgeous illustrations too!
I loved this. The illustrations were fun, and I really enjoyed the way that the reader was involved in the story.
A wholesome story with an unexpected twist at the end. This story is about a monster who is getting to go to bed. The monster is “talking” to the reader and attempts to get the reader to first go to sleep under the bed. The illustration are cute and the story is funny. The book is interactive because it feels like the monster is talking to the reader. The book is perfect to read to little ones who need a bit of help getting into bed.
Thank you NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group-White Lion, Happy Yak for sending me an ARC in exchange of an honest review of the book received.
This is such a cute story. The little monster character is quite endearing! I feel that this story does a great job of drawing the reader in, and taking a very common issue or monsters under the bed and putting a spin on it that would make a reader feel safe and unafraid of the things lurking under the bed. I love how the monster tries so share scary pajamas with the reader and how the end of the story, it invites the reader into bed with the monster. I feel that a book like this would help a child that is struggling at night to see such a predicament as less traumatizing. Very well thought out story!
One of the funniest books I've read with my little one lately! She almost fell asleep until she wanted to find the monster in her bed 😂 . A well written interactive story that you can play along and create dialogue with your little one as they were part of the book! She loved that part, like the little monster speaks to her! I am definitely buying a copy of this once is published and I would recommend to all parents.
Super grateful to Netgalley, the author and the publisher for my copy of this book!
Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for my gifted copy.
I was babysitting my niece and needed a book to read to her before she went to bed. We picked this one together, and we both loved it. This one was so cute, and I definitely recommend.
I received an ARC copy of this book via the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for a honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This is my first children’s book from Netgalley. It’s also my first from this author and publisher too. The cover looked really good and intriguing. The blurb was very intriguing as well. As a new mom, I’m always looking for good books for my baby girl. And this book delivers!
It’s a cute story and it is very reader interactive. It’s a simple, quick read but it’s great! It will be one that we read over and over again! It will be one I get a physical copy of when it releases! The artwork is beautifully done and pairs perfectly with the story. I can’t recommend this book enough!
My son is almost two and we have been working on getting him to sleep in his big boy bed! This book is. A great, fun tool to help him transition. The illustrations keep him engaged with the story until the end!
This is a children’s story about a grumpy but sweet monster.
It is helpful in teaching kids about bedtime routines and also makes phobias of monsters under the bed seem less scary
I can see myself reading this to my children. I thought this was so funny and cute. I definitely would recommend
This has been our bedtime story for about 3 weeks now! My daughter can recite every page by heart and I am pretty sure she wants a sequel to this book!
Really beautiful book, wonderfully written. The monster is so grumpy but you cannot help but adore him! The story is written in a way which is interactive with the young readers and fully gets them involved!
Great book to help your own little monsters get to sleep and it makes the notion of monsters under the bed far less scary as well which is always a bonus!
5 stars from my 4 year old and 5 stars from me!
This is so adorable. I loved the book.
The way the story is told and illustrated melts my heart.
The monster is so grumpy, but so sweet.
The textured drawings are expressive and wonderful. They transport us into the book and to bedtime.
The book is a wonderful experience. You're never too old for a bedtime story.
This was a cute story. The monster was a little bossy but hey he is a monster, lol. My favorite part of this was that the ending included the reader which pulls you into the story. Along with being the readers time for bed to conclude the story. Good read for my 4 yo. Would recommend.
I read this my family before bed and we loved loved loved it. Very cute...will be adding to our collection
This is an adorable book! The illustrations are beautiful and this is a fun read for children (and adults!). Highly recommended!
An adorable book. I think it would be amazing for storytime and other programs. My library does a Stuffed Animal Sleepover and I will be recommending that we use this at next year's event
I immediately loved the art style of this book, which is the most important thing to me because I am an art teacher. The cut-out and collage style is so beautiful in the book but it also accessible for my students to recreate. I immediately bought this book because I knew it would lead to a great conversation about patterns. I also bought a copy for my niece because the story is just too cute as well. every kids I've read it to has loved it, just be warned, some will act like monsters.
I received a complimentary copy of this book via Netgalley. Opinions expressed in this review are my own opinions.
Very creative story with wonderful illustrations to go with it. It made me smile, and in the mood I'm in, that's hard
This is a great book for kids who like There Is a Monster In My Book, Don't Push the Button, or other interactive, silly stories that take something scary and make it fun. This is cute because it encourages the reader to get the monster ready for bed, which likely will help the reader feel sleepy as well.
I love monsters in kids books because it lessens my kids worries about strange things in their room - monsters are portrayed as friendly creatures just like us.
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
