Description

I always hated my brother’s grumpy best friend, and now we’re stuck together.

Afraid and needing to escape, I buy an island with a wreck-of-a cottage.
I arrive to appreciate its beauty and cringe at the list of repairs.
But I sleep without nightmares and wake with hope.

When I hear a boat departing, I find my enemy standing on the dock.
I tell him to leave, but the grump refuses, having promised my brother to help.
Now we’re working and living together in a one-room cottage.

By day, sparks fly as we argue non-stop.
By night, our fights give way to more playful wrangling and unexplained tensions.

He says I’m off-limits because of my brother, but that kiss broke all the rules.
There’s a thin line between love and hate.

Now, I don’t know if I despise him or desire him.

I always hated my brother’s grumpy best friend, and now we’re stuck together.

Afraid and needing to escape, I buy an island with a wreck-of-a cottage.

This book was fantastic and soooo much fun to read. I loved the fighting (which was kinda like their own way of flirting, and boy was there a fine line between love and hate), the characters were amazing (even the brother was a great part to this story), they all had some backstory that was told and it was well written.
So you almost die from someone coming into your apartment and what do you do next, buy an island and live all by yourself. Or at least that is the plan Marissa, but her brother doesn't like this plan and is worried about her so he asks his friend for a huge favor.
Finn is a retired cop and boy do these two have a love-to-hate relationship, he is ok with going to the island to help and boy was he in for a treat.....
There is sooo much confusion, mixed emotions and a great adventure that this book takes you on. oh and sooo many laugh out loud moments, its perfect.
Its a easy read, that I didn't want to put down so i didn't. I read the thing in a night bc I just had to see what was gonna happen next and between these two.
And i forgot to add that there is a kinda mystery type vibe that is happening on this island as well, and it is an outcome that is not really too predictable which made it even better.

Fun book that you need to read.
