Description
Young widow Amelia Stauffer loves her serene life caring for her three daughters along with widower Ryan Miller’s two little girls, weaving baskets, and baking treats to sell at her friend’s store. Her peace is shattered, though, when various possessions disappear and an unknown person prowls her property at night.
Ryan Miller thinks of Amelia as much more than his children’s babysitter, but he and Amelia belong to different groups of Mennonites making a relationship impossible. Will they find a way to bridge that gap while working together to identify and stop the intruder?

I was looking forward to Amelia and Ryan’s story and what a truly interesting story it was.
Both have suffered the loss of their spouse and are raising their children on their own. Both are Mennonite, she is Old Order, he is part of a more modern group. Unfortunately relationships between the two are forbidden. Both are secretly in love with each other and having difficulties facing the fact that such a relationship is frowned upon. I was intrigued by this aspect of their story and fell hard for Ryan when he decided to make the biggest and hardest change of his life in order to be with the woman he loves. Add in the suspenseful elements of the book and I was hooked.
I’m giving 𝗔𝗠𝗘𝗟𝗜𝗔'𝗦 𝗛𝗢𝗣𝗘 the judy.ann.loves.books stamp of approval, TBR and Enjoy!
Amelia’s Hope by Susan Lantz Simpson is the second book in the Plain Path series. It can be read as a standalone for those who have not read Christina’s Courage. I felt for Amelia Stauffer who is a widow with three young girls. Ryan Miller is a widower with two little girls. It is obvious from the beginning that Amelia and Ryan are attracted to each other. I do not know how Amelia managed to get so much done each day while taking care of her children and watching Ryan’s. I like that we get to catch up with Christina and Noah from Christina’s Courage. There is humor throughout thanks to the local gossip, Annie trying to help her visiting cousin, Elam find a wife. The mystery was interesting. Items would disappear from Amelia’s buggy and farm. Then odd things began happening around the farm. Amelia is scared to be alone on the farm, especially at night (I do not blame her). I do feel that she made some poor decisions especially for a woman with three children (I would have asked Bishop Micah for permission to have a cell phone for emergencies). The guilty party was easy to discern. I know that I would not be as forgiving and understanding as Amelia (it would take time). The story is easy to read, but I found the pacing to be leisurely. I thought Amelia’s Hope was long (394 pages). It would have helped if the repetitive details were eliminated. I loved Meggie who is a dog in the story. She is lovable, protective, and smart. Amelia’s Hope has an ending that left me smiling.
Does Amelia have a secret admirer or a stalker? When small things go missing and incidences begin happening, Amelia, a widow with 3 small children, becomes anxious. That's when all her friends become sleuths in order to figure out the mystery. Just when I thought I had the culprit identified, another twist entered the plot.
This is a NTM author, but I would enjoy reading more by Susan Lantz Simpson. Amelia's Hope releases Apr. 30th. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Y'all just have to read this beautiful novel! It's awesome!
An awesome mystery that will grab your attention and have you pondering until you find out who did it.
Ms.Simpson has done a wonderful job with this novel from beginning to end!
Her stories are wonderful and leaves the heart feeling full and satisfied.
I wasn't disappointed at all. I never am.
The way Annie described Elam made me not like him very much from the get go. I'm not sure why though.
Amelia and her girls made me smile and sometimes giggle at their antics but I was very proud of Rhonda wanting to help her mom sometimes.
I loved this book! It kept me interested from the beginning. Amelia has a special quilt stolen from her buggy and from there a number of events keep happening. She try's to figure out what is going on with the help of her friends. She also watches Ryan's children who is a widow and they become friends as he trys to help protect her. I enjoyed this book it has mystery, love, faith, friendship, laughter all the things to make a great book.
I was given this book by Netgalley and I am not required to leave a review.

Amelia’s Hope is the second book in the Plain Path series, I believe it can be read as a stand alone. This story has a bit of everything mystery, family, friends helping friends and love overcoming obstacles. An enjoyable story and I can’t wait for the next one in the series. Thank you to NetGalley and Vinspire Publishing. This is my own opinion.
