The struggle is real for Ivy, who soon realizes she is in over her head and is trying to survive while remaining true to herself. I enjoyed the fact that there was more action in this story, even if at times, like Ivy, we just want answers and not more unknowns. The Dome was terrifying! But I was pleased to see how Ivy continued to grow and I loved the group of friends and allies she had amassed by the end. "Castle Ever Dark is an excellent continuation of Ivy's tale. It starts just after the previous book leaves off, with Ivy in the castle as she tries to unravel the mysteries of Dr. Ply's research, the Dark Woods, and what is going on with the Transposers, including her childhood best friend, York. Ivy's intrepid spirit never falters, despite numerous setbacks and never knowing who to trust. There is also a sweet romance subplot. I thought the writing was very atmospheric, and I was eager to find out what happens next. There is definitely a feel-good moment at the end with a slight victory, but I would be very interested to see how Ivy's story continues in the next book!"
