Being a retired preschool teacher, I have read many children's books. What usually appeals to me first are beautiful illustrations - which is what made me pick up this book. The illustrations are so detailed and colorful and gorgeous - I love them. Being a Mimi myself, I loved all the different types of homes and families portrayed in this story about kids going to visit Mimi for Christmas! Wonderful book with rhyming text for read-aloud perfection!
This is a wonderful celebration of a part of our family we may not think of every day, but they need to be recognized as important! I love the idea of celebrating holidays with grandparents in so many different cultures as so many of us do. I especially enjoyed the inclusion of the mimi who lives above the garage! A wonderful addition to any holiday reading.
I received an ARC of this children's book from NetGalley In exchange for an honest review.
