Fortune Edwards loves being with Jason, but she’s really not crazy about a formal sit-down with his friends, especially considering she kicked one in the … Well, anyway. Seth deserved that kick, though. But Fortune’s willing to start over, and so’s everyone else. Except Seth. He can’t seem to accept that she’s Jason’s girlfriend. Maybe it’s because she’s looking at Seth with fresh eyes or maybe it’s because she’s a plus-size Black woman in America, but Fortune sees Seth: he’s a racist, body-shaming bully.
Since Fortune and Seth aren’t getting along, Jason feels compelled to live up to his other nickname, Mister Fix-it and work at fixing things between them. Fortune wants him to choose her and their future together instead. If Jason keeps trying to fix Fortune and Seth, he may end up losing the love he waited his whole life for.
