This book guides the reader in the many ways possible for a young person to make a difference and be an agent of change, despite their age and lack of resources.
I was really excited by the premise and the promise of this book, and Laurie Ann Thompson absolutely delivered. I love the examples of teen changemakers presented, the author's own personal experiences, the quotes and advice from both teens and adults--the whole thing is just presented so carefully and practically, but also in such an engaging manner. What an important book for teens as well as those who seek to inspire them!
I liked this book and even though it didn't show in the galley I hope there are some pictures. A great book for teens and pre-teens and a book that will do well in our social responsibility section.
Like this book a lot an decided it is something that students in middle school need to read.
Be A Change Maker Copyright Laurie Ann Thompson 2014
Be a Change Maker is an inspirational book about youth who not only want to make a difference, but are doing something to do just that, they are doing something to make a difference. It does not matter that they are youth, that perhaps some might think they are to young, what matters is that they are making a difference. I like the fact that this book gives young people positive ideas on how to make positive changes in life, how to make a difference. It profiles different young people who have done things to make a difference in there lives and the lives of the others.
I think this would be a good book for middle school to highschool age kids, to show just what they can do to make a difference, what they can do to show the world just what they are capable of doing..
