“Mark Levine does his homework, and even better, shares it. With meticulous research and easy-to-follow charts, Levine compares the prices and options for various publishing pathways. Expanding on earlier editions, he walks writers through the DIY process with CreateSpace, Ingram, and Smashwords. Levine has written a useful, no-nonsense guide that will save writers tons of money and hours of frustration.”
—Helen Sedwick, author of Self-Publisher’s Legal Handbook: The Step-by-Step Guide to the Legal Issues of Self-Publishing

—Patricia Fry, executive director of Small Publishers, Artists, and Writers Network (SPAWN)
“Invaluable . . . Levine’s ten years of experience, first as an author, then as a publishing company CEO, provide him with an understanding of the needs of authors, combined with an insight into the publishing industry, top to bottom.”

I've been returning to this book as a reference every now and again, which is what makes a book great.
As a self-published author of two years, I could have used this book from the moment I'd considered writing a book. I learned much of this from trial and error, and I could have had less error had I had this book as a reference to make a plan for publishing and marketing. Luckily, there are many elements that I can utilize now because the landscape of self-publishing is forever changing. I will definitely recommend this to other Indies, whether they've previously self-published or are still flirting with the idea.
