I was so excited to jump back into the world of Miraden, Ceychell, Simigrin, Lovo, and others! There were a lot of twists, turns, and surprises, and I loved them. I was really happy to see that Miraden got a new familiar (?) because I was absolutely crushed when the previous one died. And, as odd as it may sound, I love that I absolutely cannot stand Simi right now. To me, that's the mark of a great writer. When we can follow the ebbs and flows of the characters, become emotionally invested in their journeys, and realize that we end up as changed as they are, well, that means the book was fantastic. I can't wait for book three!

The characters face new challenges (both physical and emotional) in their attempt to thwart the Ashenkin from destroying their world. New secrets are revealed and choices must be made. You will not regret reading this series, and having read both books one and two, I cannot wait until the highly anticipated third book comes out this summer!
