Description
Enchantment Ädventyr
Escape into a magical Enchantment Ädventyr; a Swedish Genealogical Fairytale.
Have you ever wondered about your ancestors, who they were, how they experienced their land's special customs, traditions? This endearing journey back in time, creatively blends a Swedish folklore character, with the author's desire to reconnect to her heritage. The fairytale envelopes readers in engaging historical lifestyles and customs, warms the reader's heart and leaves them longing to experience their own family heritage, customs and traditions.
At Swedish Nobleman Count Bonde's invitation, the author takes us on her long desired journey to the Sweden of her heritage where she searches for long-awaited answers to her questions about her ancestors and their lives. The serendipitous magic of woods sprite's spell traps her en route. Will she succeed to get the spell broken? Will she find ancestry answers she has longed for? Will conflicts of her heart find answers?
Venture into this creative variation of a Swedish Fairytale wrapped into, and around three traditional celebrations of holidays and family heritage. Poetic, romantic, lyrical, the story captures the essence of the Swedish language, charming the readers.
Anyone seeking to know and understand three of the most important traditional Swedish customs, their special holiday foods, will find this book delightful. The Appendix includes: three holiday menus, select traditional recipes, the book's characters enjoyed. Also background on how the author researched her heritage and tips on how to research one's own heritage, including Resource Reference.
Side bar Note: “Searched, learned, resolved. I penned my story using Swedish Folklore as a fairytale genre, wrapped into, around and through genealogical reality and Swedish heritage customs. All my represented characters existed. Celebrative customs enacted traditionally, woven magically through invisible time, space, and place.” , Skog shares.
The divided heart conflict of motherland America and Fatherland Sweden evolves its energy connecting genealogical heritage reality, enacted within a fantasy framework. Reality, dreams, heart-warm wishes led me to form an emotional involvement with genealogical family members, vicariously transformed my identity, deep meaning, understanding of self by immersion into my Swedish heritage roots.
Conflicts of the hearts, often a universal theme amongst immigrants and their decedents in their new country of residence expands my book out of my Swedish perspective, to that of all ethnic’s divided heart. Genealogy is the third largest hobby in the United States for those seeking back to the grounding of their ethnic people’s cultural homeland. In this sense my book is not a just a Swedish niche book, but can be enjoyed, meaningful to all who seek back for personal understanding.
Hans Christian Anderson wrote, “ Life is the best fairytale of all. “ I took this to heart,” confirms Carol. “Escape into this Enchanting tale. It entertains, explores, enriches.”
