This is the second book I have read in this series and although I don’t normally read gangland mysteries I have enjoyed both of them. They are brutal and raw and have some truly horrible characters in them. They show all of human behaviour good, bad and in between. Thoroughly entertaining and eye opening. A explosive book for any gangland crime fan. The characters were amazing. The storyline was epic it had so many twists and turns.

This is the easiest five star A mother revenge is a hard hitting subject for sure human trafficking paedophilia, it has it all violence aswell.
Alex kane writes the subject very well janey is back with a vengeance she is a great character as is her granddaughter another badass.
All the characters are sublime even the bad guys. It is hard hitting a real roller coaster of a book. Hope there are another janey book in the future.

Explosive from start to finish. Didn’t expect anything else from the queen of gangland thrillers. Janey, despite being a hardened crime boss, will do anything to protect her family from a sex trafficking ring operating within her city. A real page turner, very hard to put down. Hopefully this isn’t the last of the Hallahan series.

Another page turning read in this pacy gangland thriller series set in Glasgow that is totally engaging from the beginning till the end.
Janey is one of my favourite characters,yes shes a gangland boss, but she still knows what's right and what's wrong, and at heart, she's like any other woman looking out for the people she loves.
It is filled with colourful characters and brutal scenes with a tense standoff, which leads to a dramatic ending to this not to be missed series.
This would make a brilliant TV series.

this tale about a mother whose child has been murdered is both heartfelt and vengeful.

It is a gripping read that is we;; written with a well developed plot and fabulous characters...

I loved the drama and was hoping it would turn out well for the main character.. What she goes through is poignant but OMG drives her brings an amazing story that is gripping and suspensful

Wow what another fantastic read from Alex Kane just can't get enough of her books. This was a book I couldn't put down absolutely brilliant book.

How far would you go to protect your family and as a mother how far is far enough? This is the question in the next wonderful book in this series.

Cheryl is happily married to Leo and together they have a son Dean. But soon Cheryl and Leo will discover that Dean has been murdered and all hell is about to break loose. Glasgow’s underworld crime scene is brutal, and Cheryl is horrified to discover it is Leo that introduced Dean to this life. Cheryl will now meet up with Janey Hallahan, an extremely tough woman who reins over the gangland wars and is not someone you go up against unless you have very strong reasons. Cheryl has, and she is after revenge.

Gritty and expertly crafted, this is one of those books that you pick up and next thing you know you have read the whole book. The pacing is fast and the plot full of wonderful characters who will keep you on the edge with enough twists a plenty presented to you.

If you have not read this series to I highly recommend it, I do not think you will be disappointed.

A fabulous five star read. I love this Janey series and hope there'll be more to come. This story was flawless and illustrated the horrors of trafficking and paedophilia as well as the power of a mothers love. Excellent read.

Janey is one of the standout characters, maybe a formidable gangland boss, but her strong moral compass and deep care for those she loves make her relatable and compelling. The novel is packed with vivid characters, intense scenes, and a high-stakes standoff culminating in a dramatic, must-read.
The novel is an excellent read, filled with suspense, intrigue, action, and mystery. With its gripping 'whodunit' plot and a series of unexpected twists that keep you guessing, the story keeps you hooked from beginning to end. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an engaging and thrilling read!

Gangland thrillers are my guilty pleasure, and although I haven’t read the other books in this series, I was definitely able to grasp what was going on.

Cheryl Davidson is married to Leo, who works for Polish gangster Marek. They are human traffickers!!
Leo brings his son Dean, into the business, and when Dean makes a huge mistake, Marek orders his ‘hit’.

Cheryl cannot contemplate a life without her ‘only’ son, and vows to get retribution on the people who put a bullet through his head, and dumped his body.

This is gritty, fast paced, and an absolute page turner, with a heavy, and heartbreaking storyline.

I haven’t read author Alex Kane before, but I can say that the narrative was raw and gritty, there was some clever plotting, meticulous detail, and an all too credible cast of characters, some with a wry sense of humour, and let’s not forget some neat little twists along the way, and then perhaps you’ll see why this made for a great read!

A MOTHER'S REVENGE - Part of an unknown to me series, which unfortunately, I did not know existed. Fortunately, I did not need to have read them. AMR briefly mentioned bits and bobs from the past of several characters but there was no rehashing of the previous books. Interesting story lines with interesting characters set at a good pace made this a difficult to put down read. I want to read the first two books and others by Ms. Kane. Source: Netgalley. 5*

Another brilliant read it had me gripped, one of my favourite series. When crime boss Janey Hallahan and cieran her husband are intentionally run of the road, cieran is in a coma and janey in hospital? Someone's out to get them arnt they? Orla ,janeys daughter was killed and sinead her other daughter is a drug addict currently in rehab.. Molly Rose is janeys grand daughter and she was captured into a human trafficking ring, but Janey saved her. The subject content is a delicate one and I thought the author write it very well and sensitively, who could ever imagine what those young children go through. The family is dysfunctional but all pull together in times of need, plus it also helps if in your family is a feared crime boss !!! 5🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟from me

15 years old Cheryl falls for Leo Davison love at first sight the age gap of six years doesn't bother her and unknown to everyone they elope when she is sixteen.
A happy marriage Leo spoils her rotten but after the murder of their twenty-one year old son taking out by Leo's boss she now wants justice for her son.
This book hits all the spots, a good read with loads of action.
The characters blend in so well together.
Another smash hit read.

I love a gangland crime book and this one is up there with Kimberly Chambers and Martina Cole! This book was fast paced, jam packed full of twists and turns to keep me guessing ! It was a total rollercoaster read! Literaly couldn’t put it down! I hadn’t read the other 2 books but it wasn’t a problem. Im now going back to read them!

Extremely enjoyable and thrilling read from start to finish.
Will have the reader guessing and second guessing themselves throughout.
Tense and exciting, this is the kind of book that is great to be read in peace with a coffee by your side in a warm living room,

Another well written and crafted fast paced gangland thriller, set in Glasgow, from the author. The characterisation is very good, it was easy to empathise with some characters in the story, which is a bit heartbreaking but handled with sensitivity. The tension really ramped up as events unfolded, with the dramatic ending nicely wrapped up, hopefully for a follow up. A really enjoyable thriller. Thanks to Net Galley for my ARC.

Excellent story. I have really enjoyed the last two Alex Kane books and look forward to more.

Overwhelmed by grief and with no one left to trust, Cheryl plans to take deadly retribution on the family that caused her son to be killed, vowing that they should suffer the same pain.

Cheryl thought she had it all until her son, Dean, was murdered. Then the world she thought she knew collapsed.

This is another fantastic read. It's gritty, gripping, has strong women characters, and I could not put this gangland crime book down. The pace is fast, there is so much going on, with twists and turns along the way. Some parts had me holding my breath. I can't wait the next book.
