Upon initially downloading the book, I was unsure whether it would be guided by empathy and prompt caregivers to examine their biases—it indeed does. The book felt appropriately lengthy and practical. However, I wished it had devoted more attention to addressing those who are unwilling to understand or show kindness to mixed race children, whether it be family members, school administrators, or others involved in unavoidable social interactions with the child.
A short guide to some of the best practices for childrearing, especially geared towards those who are of mixed race. I think it will be useful for such parents. My own kids are of mixed race and this would have sparked some ideas and thoughts for me when they were young.
