A hot read!

I have to say I was pleasantly surprised with this first installment of the serial. I love shifter books and the dolphin aspect is what drew me to the story. I’m not sure what I was expecting but once I got into the story, I was completely enthralled.

The Heroes: Dario and Lucan, two strong, sexy as hell dolphin shifters, aka Dolphinae, searching for a Descendant of Neptune, a mate who will keep their race from degenerating into ordinary dolphins incapable of taking human form.

The Heroine: Mona, a sex-starved curvy librarian with dreams of the sea, book boyfriends and ogling hard male surfer bodies, unbeknownst of her divine lineage.

Many, many years ago, the Dolpinae were ruled by a single son born of royal blood. The tradition continued until one year, twins were born and there was a fight over who would take the throne. This resulted in the Dolphinae dividing into two separate factions: the Atlanti, where Dario is a prince, and the Herakli, where Lucan is also a prince. Both are sworn enemies but, Dario and Lucan have made a temporary truce to help search for a Descendant. However, when Lucan spots Mona first but is claimed by Dario, fighting ensues and Mona is caught in the middle of a centuries old war.

The prince who takes a Descendant as a mate will inherit the throne bringing both factions together, but ultimately sentencing the other prince and the rest of his Dolphinae to death. Mona is appalled by this because she doesn’t want anyone to die. Being the librarian that she is, Mona starts researching for a way to prevent it by answering the question: Why can’t I claim them both?

This isn’t some fluffy hearts and rainbows book; there are politics and many lives at stake here. The Dolphinae’s enemy is the Mordentes—shark shifters. Usually solitary creatures, the Mordentes have been joining forces, possibly being organized by an even greater unknown threat in order to eradicate the Dolphinae population for good. Are you downloading the book yet?

I love the originality of the story and I really enjoyed it! I love the politics and the plot is fascinating. I am equally excited and weary about the next installment in the serial because there was one thing mentioned that really bugged me about the story. The Dolphinae do not mate for life or to just one partner. What turns me off most when reading are cheater books and I’m afraid for what the next installment holds, but the plot already has me hooked so we’ll see what happens.

Overall, this was an exciting and engaging new start to the serial. I invite all paranormal lovers to join me on this journey of danger, intrigue and destiny…oh and sexy alpha males too!

Claimed by the Alpha Dolphins (Bound to the Sea, Part 1) by Lyra Fawn

Lucan and Dario are princes from warring dolphin pods. They meet Mona at the beach when she catches their eyes, more Lucan’s eyes than Dario’s. Mona comes from Oklahoma and has had this urge to be near water. Never could understand why, but as soon as she graduated high school, quick as she could she moved herself to where there was water and a beach. She knows there is a reason for this obsessive-like behavior but she doesn’t seem to want to know why at this time.

As this story starts, Mona is at beach, laying out and secretly watching the surfers. That is where she sees Lucan and Dario. They are watching her as she is secretly watching them. Soon they go into the water and that is when a shark attack happens . It wasn’t the shark attack that wasn’t weird, it was what Mona saw- she saw Lucan and Dario turn into dolphins and save a man’s life. Then the two men quickly left and Monda had to meet them and know if what she saw was true -and why she was so drawn to both of them. Anf from that, the story just turned up in action & in romance.

This is a serial installment –I have never read one so this was new to me. I have to say kudos to the author for building such great scenes in the readers’ head. I cant wait for the next installment.

My rating :: 5 stars *****

As much as I love shifters, Ill read anything.. well most anything that shifts. This story had dolphins and sharks, which was a first for me. A quick read that has a cliff hanger. (hate cliffs) The story line was good I was intrigued, the characters could have been filled out a bit more, maybe they will be in the upcoming book.
A young woman with different color eyes, with a destiny she knows nothing of. All Mona does know that she is drawn to water. She spends her time on the beach watching the surfers. Dario and Lucan are Dolphinae.. shifters. A attack of sharks opens a whole new world to Mona, and she will find herself with choices to make. Dario and Lucan will not only fight their enemies that are determined to end the Dolphinae's existence, but because of a pact, and the fact that two royal house cant rule... they will fight against each other. Pool Mona stuck in the middle... first learning of shifters.. learning she has a definite role in one of their lives.. and of course running from danger. Its a easy read a decent pace, it can be finished in one sitting. (I do wish I had the second one already)..had a couple of hot scenes, not actually “menage” as I know it... all in all a both worth the read. Enjoy

First of all...

OMG dolphin smut! I was incredibly stoked to see this title come up in the rotation on NetGalley and knew that it had to be mine. The introduction of the Dolphinae's enemies, the Mordentes, or shark shifters just made this that much more awesome!

This is a pretty good intro installment to the serial. The groundwork is laid well and we have a decent insight into the main characters. Mona is an awesome bookworm with a weakness for yummy surfers.

Lucan and Dario are rival Dolphinae princes searching for a descendant of Neptune. Lucan is a much better match for Mona as he actually seemed attracted to her and is attentive of her. Dario is a bit of a commanding ass, but of course she likes him because he's pretty.

Very excited to see where this story leads as there's decent action in this 1st part to hook us in and make us want more.

Mona finds herself at the center of a centuries old conflict between two rival pods of Dolphinae but with a greater danger lurking beneath the sea, she must reconcile the passion of two alpha dolphins…or watch their entire race be destroyed in this mesmerizing paranormal romance.

This fast paced and smooth flowing plot keeps readers swimming in suspense, drama, and passion. The well written scenes and details capture the imagination and the strong compelling characters grab the reader’s attention from the very beginning and draw the deeper into the story.

Mona finds herself attracted to dolphin shifters and pulled in two different directions, both ignite her passions with some scorching hot sex scenes, but according to traditions she can have only one and on top of that she’s expected to give up everything she’s ever known and she’s in danger from enemies she had no clue existed, which adds quite a bit of excitement to the story.

The reader can’t help but get caught up in this fascinating story that the author created with a intriguing spin on mythology and some interesting elements. Despite being short and the cliffhanger…it is a serial after all… I was completely caught up in this captivating quick read and I can’t wait to find out what happens next.
