Description
No experience required. Faced with tuition payments, a baby to support, and a hearty dose of naïveté, Miranda finds a job as a hostess at an infamous underground club in downtown Los Angeles. She isn't hired to serve drinks. After one too many nightly grinding sessions with the city's creepiest men, she strips her values and clothes and under the veil of red lights, transforms into exotic dancer Serenity.
Between dressing up as a cop and getting fingerprinted by one, her life plunges further into chaos. Whenever she escapes the industry, bills compel her to return. In a twisted real-life game, brazen discrimination against single moms is what she faces, not from the strip joints but from the corporate world. And when one of her past clients shows up at the office trying to win her back with diamond earrings and cheap promises, she can no longer ignore her past nor the power it still holds over her. To save her reputation, her son, and her future, can she say goodbye, finally, to the twisted allure of stripping?
The incredible true story of a single mom's struggle for survival.

Thank you Netgalley for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book. These opinions are completely my own.
I was hooked to Miranda's story from the first chapter. It truly is an ode to her past self. She was not condemning stripping, nor was she singing it's hight praise. It was an means to an end that she was lucky to have her best friend next to her almost every step of the way.
