Description
In Pyae Moe Thet War's electrifying and heartfelt new rom-com, a writer's attempt to find inspiration for her new novel is sabotaged by a vacation gone horribly wrong...and feelings for her off limits best friend.
A trip they'll never forget...
Poe Myat Sabei has the publishing career that any writer would kill for: her first novel sold at auction, became an international number one bestseller, and is being turned into a Netflix film. But now on deadline for her second book, Poe is facing a catastrophic case of writer’s block. The solution? Book a two-week getaway to an exclusive island resort for her and her best friend Zwe where she’ll undoubtedly be inspired to write her next bestseller.
But the vacation of their dreams disintegrates in a flash when the resort is taken over by a group of masked women who are very armed and very angry. As they try to leave the island before the group can track them down, Poe and Zwe suddenly find themselves facing the kinds of conflicts that only come up when, well, you’re trapped in a life or death situation on a remote island with your (hot) best friend.

Thank you Pyae Moe Thet War and NetGalley for the free eARC in exchange for my review!
I absolutely loved Here for a Good Time by Pyae Moe Thet War! From the very beginning, I was hooked by the unique premise of a writer escaping to an exclusive island resort to break through her writer's block—only to have her vacation take a hilariously chaotic and unexpectedly dangerous turn. The characters truly brought the story to life, especially Poe and Zwe, whose relationship is filled with witty banter, heartfelt moments, and undeniable chemistry. Watching their bond evolve under such wild and high-stakes circumstances was a delight.
The mix of humor, romance, and suspense was perfectly balanced, making the book both laugh-out-loud funny and emotionally impactful. The storyline kept me on the edge of my seat, with twists I didn’t see coming, and the way the author wove humor into even the most intense moments was brilliant. I also appreciated the depth in the characters, which made their journey all the more engaging.
Here for a Good Time is the kind of book that leaves you smiling and wanting more. It’s clever, heartfelt, and thoroughly entertaining—definitely a must-read for fans of rom-coms with a twist. I can’t recommend it enough, and I’m giving it a glowing 5 stars!

I loved this one! I love the mystery and funny moments. This author is for sure one to watch. I loved the last novel too

I really enjoyed this book! There's nothing quite like a good "best friends to lovers" story set in an exclusive tropical resort on an island. The combination of romance and action was executed perfectly. I was really rooting for Poe and Zwe. They seemed cute together! The romance unfolded as a slow burn, but it was worth it in the end. Though they were very different from one another, any reader could tell they were meant to be together. The heist added a fun twist to the story. Overall, this was an enjoyable and entertaining book!
Thank you to NetGallery and to St. Martin's Press | St. Martin's Griffin for my copy.

What a memorable and propulsive story. I enjoyed reading it. The characters and setting are interesting and War's writing was excellent. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.

I received an ARC copy from Net Galley! This is my honest feedback.
I immediately was sucked in in the first chapter due to the banter, humor, wit, and characters that immediately came to life. Then the stakes are introduced, and they are high enough for you to care and be interested, but the main character is genuinely hilarious.
I LOVE the island setting and the coworker setting and so this book was fun for the island setting. I loved the conflict that came with it, but the spicy scenes were also amazing. I inhaled this one and I’ll be recommending it to my friends and other readers as this is a good one. I can’t stop thinking about it.
Thank you for the opportunity to read this!

Two friends go on the trip of a lifetime, to help one of them break through their writer’s block, and meet some very unfortunate circumstances causing them to reexamine their relationship.
This was a really fun read! I enjoyed and rooted for the characters, appreciated the mix of real world and wilder experiences and loved traveling to a new part of the world via this story. It also encouraged me to more deeply consider the impacts of my travel to the local communities. I’d definitely recommend this book to anyone that likes rom coms, mystery and/or travel stories.

Thank you NetGalley and publisher for this book!!
Wow!! What a great book!! This one was a page turner! Had me hooked from the first page! This was a first for me by this author but will not be my last. I enjoyed the plot, characters and the writing style!!

Immediate 5 stars. What a joy of a book to read. The romance is to die for and it was heartwarming to see it bloom. This was everything.
A special thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for a ARC in exchange for an honest review.
