As someone who struggles with all the conflicting information on diets it was refreshing to hear that it is all about the basics. It was also good to know the recent proven research on ways to improve your chances of losing and keeping the weight off. I like that he spent time talking about the mental aspect of weight managment. I have long admired and trusted the author and that says it all.
If you love Dr Phil, you will love this book. It feels like he is talking to you one on one about losing weight. He addresses the reasons we give ourselves not to lose weight and straight up asks you if you are serious about losing weight Because you're not, if you don't believe you have the right to care about you, then the 20/20 plan won't help. He is honest and wants to really help people, not just sell his book or a get thin quick gimmick. He is about education,understanding yourself,commitment,and hard work. This book is easy and fun to read.

I have read a lot of diet books and tried so many different diets over the years, but I'm always happy to read another, in the hope that it might give me that 'eureka!' moment and provide the easy answer to my weight issues.
The 20/20 diet seems to make sense. You start by eating just 20 different foods, all have thermogenic properties to help enhance the rate at which you burn calories. Other foods are then introduced. You are even allowed a splurge now and then.
This book is well written and easy to read and understand. The diet and how it works are well explained and the list of 20 foods easily obtainable at a reasonable cost. There is no expensive outlay or need to buy any expensive equipment, so it's ideal. I will give the 20/20 diet a try as I already include most of the 20 foods in my diet - it's the other ones I add in that are the problem!
I found this book so much more than a diet. It is a lifestyle change. Dr.Phil has laid everything out so easily that it makes this so simple to implement into your everyday life. I am a fan of Dr.Phil and him writing a book that has changed my eating habits has made me a even bigger fan.
Dr. Phil has done it again!! The 20/20 Diet provides essential information that is needed to get your mind and body in shape! Highly recommended!
Great Book!
This is a book by Dr. Phill McGraw. This book has a lot of great information that will help us make a lifestyle change. Every chapter is laid out to it is easy to understand. I am looking forward to putting the information I read in this book to help me change my eating habits. A Review copy was provided to me in exchange for a fair and honest review. Like most women, I have been on countless diets, and read many, many diet books. This book made no promises of a quick fix, it the introductions told me nothing new. It's all common sense. There were some very interesting facts and figures along the way and when I finish a good, well written diet book I always feel invigorated and raring to go, maybe should have saved reading this book until after Christmas!
The diet works around 20 core foods and has three stages. The first two stages last 5 days and the last phase lasts 20 days. During the first 5 days there are only certain foods you are allowed to eat. Restrictions are lifted the further into the diet you get. Like all successful diets this is a lifestyle change, and, after Christmas I'm going to give it a go. The exercise routine looks interesting, and again, after Christmas, I'm game to give it a go. The problem is......most of us know the rules, and it really is everything in moderation, but first and foremost I need to get my willpower in check. Maybe this is the book to do that, I won't know for a while, but it's certainly got me thinking about making permanent changes to the way I eat.
This book really provides a comprehensive plan for lasting weight loss. The biggest benefit is the behavioral changes that Dr. Phil walks you through. He recognizes that you can try any diet that's out there, but until you're in the right mindframe to lose weight, you'll never stick to a diet.
