This is the perfect sequel to "Faeries Don't Lie." An epic high fantasy tale of a multi realm world with every faerie being you can think of. The relationships fostered in book 1 grow and develop throughout this book.

Aunia and Mathias feel like a real genuine couple. The compromises and the challenges that they face and have to deal with really do make them feel like a couple from the real world, bringing a true depth to the book.

There are battle scenes that have you on the edge of your seat, as well as insane twists of betrayal from loyal companions (yes I'm on about a lizard)

Burke has also fostered an amazing street team that I'm proud to be a part of. The community she has created is so welcoming and helpful, which I think is a big part of the brilliance of Burkes ability.

If you are not used to high fantasy works, please read the glossary that is provided. Burke has put in so much work to make this book as authentic as possible.

I kept checking the number of pages near the end 😬
This series is very PG (due to violence). I would recommend this for a YA who loves world building and wants the focus more on adventure than romance!

We get to know the loveable characters more, learn about new types of fae, and meet some new characters as well!

Aunia and Mathias are questing together! Their overall goals are the same but their priorities and plan vary greatly! They must choose to compromise or work separately; while trying to stay safe.
Between the Boogleman, Da Vennen colt, Wererats, father's imprisonment, and missing people (mostly Fae blood); their confusion is understandable.
Where to start and how to best save both worlds, human and fae.

I enjoyed this book more than the first book and cannot wait to see how the plot finishes!

Whew Aunia’s journey continues and let’s just say it has picked up and once again the ending has left me reeling. Yelling “what, that’s it, that’s how we leave it” oh so many unanswered questions, so many questions I have of how everything has played out so far and where we are left.

The action really picks up towards the end of the book and really ties the whole thing together as well as the romance development that I am here for! I’m so excited for the next book and I can’t wait to read what happens next because like I said I need all the answers to my questions of what happens because I’m left reeling!
