Julie Danneberg’s “Jitters” series has been a part of my classroom library for as long as I can remember, and I can’t wait to add her newest treasure Teacher Jitters to my collection. This is a delightful (and very realistic!) look at the fears that a teacher faces when she has to spend a day away from her students at a Math workshop.

I love how the students take what they’ve learned about staying positive and calm to ease their teacher’s mind. Loaded with notes of positive affirmations and markers that she can doodle with just in case, Mrs.Hartwell’s day of learning is a success.

Thank you NetGalley for this ARC that will be a welcome addition to my classroom as soon as it’s released!

Teachers get jitters, too. As a teacher, I loved reading this because it is exactly how I feel anytime I go to a PD not at my district. I know no one and don’t know what to expect. It’s also how I feel on the first day of school with no students.

Thank you for addressing that anxiety and nerves are normal, even as adults. I think it’s important to kids to know that, too.

Thank you Charlesbridge and NetGalley for the ARC. All opinions here are my own.

This is a wonderful story that shows children even adults get nervous about school. Most children believe that adults don't understand how they feel, but this book conveys that we all get nervous in new situations. It was a delightful read.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an electronic copy to read in exchange for an honest review.

I love this series! Not only does it normalize the jitters, but provides practical ways in which to deal with them. A great book for teachers who also get the jitters!

This time around, it’s not the students feeling nervous… it’s the teacher heading to a teacher training all by herself! 😬✏️ But don’t worry—along the way, she remembers the same calming strategies she’s taught her own students (because yes, even grown-ups get the jitters too!).

This story is such a fun and relatable reminder that anxiety doesn’t have an age limit, and the tools we use in our classrooms matter—for kids and teachers! A must-add to any classroom collection, especially for fans of the series who love that mix heart, and real-life feelings.

When Mrs. Hartwell has to spend a day as a student herself at a teaching workshop, she's nervous. What if it doesn't go well? What if she doesn't know anyone there? With the help of her caring students, she's reminded of all the tips and tricks for overcoming the jitters!

This is a very sweet book, and I love how it 'humanizes' teachers for a kid's perspective. Even the smartest, bravest adults they know can be nervous, too! The illustrations also felt very nostalgic to me as a '90s kid and I loved them.

Thank you to NetGalley and the author for providing me with a free eARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is a great book for school aged children to show that even adults (teachers) can get nervous. It even highlights some techniques that can be done to help with nervousness. The illustrations were great throughout! It gives heartfelt and cozy vibes with its happy ending! Overall giving children the feeling that nervous situations can turn out good! Thank you Charlesbridge and NetGalley for the ARC!

A teacher has teacher training and is nervous, but her students send her with encouraging notes and breathing techniques that help her feel better throughout the day.
A great addition to this series of books.

Thanks NetGalley for this ARC.

Another nice choice for a few reasons.
1. Teaches empathy. Readers are encouraged to look at things from the teacher's perspective. Grown-ups have feelings too.
2. Reassures kids. It's normal to be nervous, but there are people to help them. And everyone gets nervous sometimes!

The illustrations remind me very much of Thank You Mr Falker. Old-school and fun.

Thank you for the ARC. I will purchase for my library.

Teacher Jitters is a very sweet book. Mrs. Hartwell has to go to a teacher workshop and she is nervous. She won’t know anyone there and doesn’t know if the teacher will be nice to her. She is very nervous and her students suggest some strategies to deal with her feelings. They write her notes to make her feel better and motivate her throughout the day. Her day at the workshop goes well and she shares with her students how much their suggestions helped her.

I wasn't familiar with the Jitters series before, but thanks to NetGalley, I randomly discovered this lovely book. Such a sweet and heartwarming story! It highlights how everyone—teachers included—can feel nervous, out of place, and in need of support. I love the gentle, reassuring message that we all can benefit from friendly encouragement.

The illustrations have a warm, nostalgic, old-school charm—I enjoyed them so much! Maybe they speak even more to adult readers than kids, but they definitely created a warm, comforting feeling for me.

Mrs. Hartwell is anxious about attending a teacher workshop. She is worried about not knowing anyone and about how she will interact with the teacher. Will it be fun? Will people be nice? She expresses her fears to her classroom, and her students understand what she is facing. Showing kindness and understanding, the students offer support to lessen her anxiety. The sweet ending reveals a surprise for everyone to feel calm and secure at the school. The great illustrations and text combine for a charming story.
Thanks to Charlesbridge, Julie Danneberg and NetGalley for this ARC.

Teacher Jitters is a perfect example of adults getting nervous about things too. Students often look to their teacher for nonverbal cues of how to react to something as well as what behavior is being modeled. Working in education and being in school to become a teacher I was able to relate so much to this! Often times we are sent to trainings we don't know anyone and when we do notice groups of people that do know each other it is easy to feel left out or the odd one out.
It shows just how special the connection between a teacher and their students truly is!
I have read many of the Jitter stories in my library to students and they have been around for such a long time, I understand keeping the series uniform but illustrations are starting to look outdated and students are grabbing other books instead.

This book was so fun! I love the Sarah Jane books, especially First Day Jitters. It was so nice to read this new installment, because it's so important that kids see that teachers are people with feelings, too! Even we get nervous! I can't wait to read this to my class!

This is such a cute story. I absolutely loved this book about a nervous teacher going to a teacher class. Her students have given her reminders and notes that they obviously had learned from her or other adults in their lives. I loved this so much I plan to buy for my children's school library.
