Description
Finally, a Wine Guide for the Rest of Us!
Do you love wine but suspect it doesn’t always love you back?
Ever stared blankly at a wine list, bluffing your way through, while secretly panicking you’ll be found out as a fraud?
This hilarious and unapologetically irreverent book is your saviour. Forget dusty textbooks and intimidating sommeliers—here’s your permission slip to drink what you like, how you like, without feeling like a clueless imposter.
Packed with survival strategies for pretentious dinner parties, foolproof methods to pick brilliant wines without blowing your budget, and essential tips on drinking abroad without creating a diplomatic incident, this alternative guide will arm you with just enough wine wisdom to confidently fake expertise in any situation.
From navigating awkward vineyard tours without nodding off, to pouring wine without drenching yourself (or the tablecloth), cooking with wine without accidentally poisoning guests, or even confronting that irritatingly smug bartender who definitely deserves it—consider this your crash course in becoming a wine legend (or at least looking convincingly like one).

Uncorked: Wine Without the Bullshit is the wine guide I didn’t know I needed. It strips away the snobbery and gets real about wine in a way that’s not only informative, but genuinely funny. I appreciated how it gave me useful tips—like how to fake wine confidence without breaking the bank—without ever making me feel dumb or out of my depth. I laughed, I learned, and I now feel way less anxious ordering wine in public. Definitely a keeper on my shelf.

Y’ALL. This book is like your wine-loving bestie who tells it to you straight, cracks jokes the whole time, and somehow makes you feel like a total boss with a corkscrew. I snorted coffee out of my nose at least twice (ironic, I know), but more importantly—I actually learned stuff. Real stuff. Like how not to drown in a wine list and how to fake it with flair when someone starts talking about “mouthfeel.” If you’ve ever felt clueless in a wine shop, this book is your cheat code. 🍷😎

I’m 25 years old and work in the spirits industry, and one of my goals for 2025 is to become more knowledgeable about wine. I read this book in ONE SITTING!!! I feel like wine guides tend to lean on the pretentious side, but this one was literally perfect! The book actually engaged me and made me want to read more, rather than spitting facts at me and making me feel stupid. It was a blend between wine history, general facts, and genuine comedy. Every chapter had a hilariously clever title, and yet they were all packed with such valuable information. I feel like I learned at least 1 new thing in every chapter, and there is something for everyone in there. It doesn’t matter if you like drinking alone, or you want to impress friends at a dinner party, there’s something in there for you. I will 100% be recommending this to friends, and if this author ever decides to make a part 2 or a deeper dive, I will 100% read that as well. This is genuinely the first book on wine that I actually enjoyed reading!!!
