A huge and special thank you to David C Cook and Netgalley for the E-book and the opportunity to post a honest review
What a sweet little story. So many children's books are just full of "fluff". I don't usually buy them because people seem to think kids can't grasp concepts, I suppose. I love this. It talks about how we should love others and displays Jesus' example throughout. A great gift for someone you know. (Link is in the pic)
The story is well written, it has bigger concepts than most children's books and the illustrations are wonderful. I give it 5 Stars.
Thanks, netgalley, for this great read. As always, this is my honest opinion. Here's to many more!!
With Easter almost here, this colorful picture book about Jesus would make a nice addition to any Easter basket. The story teaches children a valuable lesson about how important it is to listen to how the Lord wants all of us to live. It briefly touches on times where people did they wanted instead of following God. Then it goes on to tell us about how the Lord came and died for us so we have another opportunity to follow Him.
This book is recommended for children age 4-8. Younger children will enjoy the vividly colored photographs while having someone read the book to them, and older children will be able to read this themselves.
This is a n excellent representation of the Bible. Of course it doesn't contain all it's stories withing just a few pages, but it conveys the message of the Bible as well as giving a brief historic outline of the story from the first people to Jesus' resurrection. What I find most extraordinary about this little book is that, unlike many other texts, it is free from threats of condemnation and doesn't use the term "sin"
t is a rarity for me to find a book for children where Jesus is referred to as King Jesus. It opens up the door for children to understand the divinity, majesty and greatness of Jesus before and after his life here.
The illustrations in this book are absolutely gorgeous and full of so much detail. The bright colors and details are captivating and add so much to the story.
The story covers Creation, Abrahamic Covenant, the creation of the Nation of Israel, Jesus's birth, ministry, death, resurrection and return and a few other stories in a very condensed version.
The story is sure to invoke lots of questions and create opportunities to discuss Jesus as he relates to stories of the Old Testament like the Abrahamic Covenant and the prophecy being fulfilled as well as his return.
This book doesn’t offer all the details of God’s story. It paints the big picture behind the stories. That's what makes it unique. It offers adults a chance to interact with young children about how much God loves us. Jesus was God's plan from the very beginning. Illustrations are beautiful and it's a story well told.
This book tells the story of God and how He loves His people, but they don't always listen or do what He wants them to do, but he forgives and give second (and third and fourth) chances. The illustrations are beautiful and fit well with the story. I like that it is more 'big picture' of God's love and our purpose, not specific Scripture - as the author says in his note, the story is so much more than memorizing verses. I will definitely read this to my little one!
This is a great book for children! Instead of just presenting the Bible as separate stories, it basically shows how the gospel message is there in the whole Bible. Beginning with Adam and Eve, continuing through Israelite history and then the time of Jesus, the same lesson is repeated: instead of following God's way, people want to go their own way. But God had a plan...Jesus. It ends with how people today still don't do what God wants but that Jesus will come again and make the world good and right. I think with this overarching story, every Bible story can be explained in terms of the gospel. The illustrations are colorful and engaging. Even though it's targeted towards 4-8 year olds, I think this book can help explain the gospel to kids of any age. I highly recommend it.

The story of Jesus is one that has been told over and over again. This book follows after other storybook Bibles that relate Jesus in each of the stories of the Bible. It's a wonderful way to connect the New Testament to the Old Testament and show children from a young age that Jesus is not just relegated to the New Testament but is in every word of each story and is the culmination of all the stories in the Old Testament. The illustrations in this book are lovely and welcoming to children.
