Description
Saddled with six ghosts - the demons of past transgressions - as her constant companions, keeping the town of Charming safe and law-abiding should be her only worries. Not so. When Hung Durand, ultra-sexy bounty hunter and shape shifter extraordinaire comes to town, all bets are off.
The sharpshooting gal is prepared for battle, the likes of which neither Hung nor Red Mountainbear, a blowhard conservative from Fairbanks, has ever experienced. Her mission is to keep the peaceful, shape shifter refuge out of the clutches of those that would just as soon destroy it as they would mine it to fatten their wallets.
Will Chia lose her town to those who with dollar signs clouding their judgment or will her undeniable attraction to Hung distract her efforts? Or, worse yet, will her vampire roommate take his pranks too far, resulting in her untimely death? Find out in this humorous, paranormal comedy romance.
A Note From the Publisher
Advance Praise
I love these characters and their names made me laugh.. Hung, and the vamp. D'raynged, Cecil, oh my what characters! Chia.. loved how Cecil called her Lil' Summer. There's a lot of tongue in cheek humor, and deep thinking about the environment too, Great balance. Action was really good. - KPH an Amazon reviewer

Chia Petit is the town manager for Charming, Alaska. She is trying to keep the shape shifters safe from the neurotypicals (non-shape shifters) by making rules that will keep their hunting of the shape shifters to a minimum. Then, a bounty hunter, Hung Durand, comes back to town, undermining Chia’s credibility with the townspeople who feel she hasn’t stopped him and thinks it’s time she’s done so. However, there is a more sinister plot going on. Red Mountainbear, an out-of-towner, who wants Chia’s power and he will do anything to get it, even if it means killing all Chia holds dear, including Hung himself.
This book was a charming (forgive the pun), fun little paranormal romance/mystery. I really liked the main characters and the side characters, with one minor exception: D’Raynged, Chia’s roommate. I had a hard time getting a grasp on him, and didn’t find him really likable, if he was even supposed to be likable. I even found Cecil, who was constantly hitting on Chia, to be a great character. Great plot lines, great characters, and well-written story for an all-around good book. Please do yourself a favor and get this book. I did, and I wasn’t disappointed. I am eagerly awaiting the next book in the series!

Already let's dive straight into the plot!
Chia Petit is an enforcer of the Law, many even call her the Queen of Rules. She's OCD and has a tendency to be controlling. What's her job?
She protects the supernaturals from abusing their gifts and acts as a mediator between humans and paranormal. In her so called 'Switzerland' for humans and non-humans alike, one man reeks havoc, one man she knows she should kill.
Hung Durand. However, the problem is that Hung is the most beautiful man in Alaska and Chia likes him. He is a shifter though.
All the sudden, Chia is not sure about her life anymore.
Her job is at stake and so is her heart.
But worst, someone wants to kill her.
WARNING!!This book is very much NEW ADULT or ADULT and is not and i repeat not suitable for young adults.
This book was nice, it was filled with action intrigue...vampires, shifters, faeries....etc.
My pet peeve is when books focus a little too much on how 'wet' someone's underwear becomes or has uncontrollable hormones that makes her want to attack any man she finds sexy. That's Chia! This is why it's in my= too-mucho-graphico shelf.
Chia as a character was actually likable and funny, she's technically a well-written character, i just had to try to supress the urge to yell at her to control her urges, because heaven knows...from begin to end there's sexual talk about men's you-know-what. Or about her own...well, you-know-what.
Funnily enough, though this book talks a lot about bodily urges and stuff, there's technically not an actual sex scene in here. Which gave me a pause when I thought on how to label this. Oh there's sort of one, and I'm glad it wasn't like 'imma vomit' sexual, you know what they're doing without the description. However, again i say this is funny because there was so.much.description about well...you know...before bedroom stuff. If I may be blunt, just expect Chia to be a constant state of arousal. it was pretty disturbing actually.
ANYWAY!
As a plot, it was pretty good. I enjoyed the way the story went with all the gun-shooting action, the coup that was taking place, the way the bad guy is and like I said the characters were cool. I wish we saw more growth in the romance of Hung and Chia, they actually- well to me, didn't have enough time getting to know each other. I get they're supposed to have known each other for a bit and everything but...it just went so fast ya know?
My last criticism is that cover- to me, its a no bueno. I'm not a big fan of it...I mean seriously, what's with those eyebrows made out of feathers!? I get Chia is a pink-fanatic and I get that there's stuff about an owl, but really?
Well that's that from me.
