Single mom Bailey Richmond has been badly burned by romance and doesn't want a serious relationship. Especially not with her coworker, Xander Blue, a member of the family who owns the company that employs her. Although immediately attracted to one another, Bailey tries to keep things on a friendship level with Xander. When she can no longer deny the attraction, the two begin a relationship, which Bailey intends to keep completely casual. Xander truly likes Bailey, and is insulted that she is determined that he not meet her six year old son, Seth, and that she doesn't intend to give their relationship a chance to be serious. When Xander inadvertently meets Seth and the two quickly become attached, Bailey has to see if she can overcome her past, even when it is suddenly looming over her and interfering with she and Xander.

I thoroughly enjoyed this contemporary romance by Eve Gaddy. Bailey and Xander were both great characters. Bailey was a wonderful mother, and she was very protective of her son. It was understandable that she was leery of having Seth become too attached to Xander. However, I felt really sorry for Xander when she purposefully kept him from meeting Seth and truly being part of her life. Xander was extremely likable, and was a genuinely nice man. I really liked the relationship that developed between Xander and Bailey. Seth was such a cute character, and he added greatly to the story. I liked the way that Xander bonded with him and understood him so well. I enjoyed every bit of this book, and reading it was a pleasure. Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for providing me with a copy of the book in return for an honest review.

I love the Whiskey River series, I love Eve Gaddy's work and I have loved every page of this book. I wanted it to go on and on, but I guess I'll just have to sit back and wait for the fourth and final instalment in the series.
Xander Blue and his twin brother Nick are in Whiskey River for a year as a condition of their late father Boots Kelly's will. They're not certain that they'll stay after the year is up though the longer they're in town the more attached they become to the place their father called home.
Xander loves women but he's never felt the urge to indulge in anything more than light flirtatious affairs. He's stunningly good looking and has a reputation as a love em and leave em kind of guy. When he sets eyes on Bailey Jenkins, whom he thinks is gorgeous, he immediately imagines indulging in his usual type of fling. That suits Bailey as well. She is immediately drawn to Xander but she doesn't trust men after the father of her six year old son left her when she was six months pregnant. She's bright, intelligent and more importantly she's fiercely protective of her son Seth. Despite Bailey trying to hold him at arms length, Xander can't stop thinking about her and despite the rules Bailey has put in place she can't help wanting to spend time with Xander.
This story flows beautifully. I've bern reading the series and if you have too then you'll have a good idea of who's who in the zoo, but if you like reading random books you'll find this one stands up quite nicely on its own. It makes for perfect weekend reading!

One Night with the Bad Boy was such a good read, loved it!

Xander and Bailey were such fun and lovable characters, loved their connection and their chemistry was smoking!!!
And watching Xander with Bailey's little boy Seth? **swooooooon** he was so loving and such a wonderful male influence in that little boys life.
Another major plus for me was seeing how the brothers were forming a deeper connection with each book, they are all such fun and swoon worthy characters, I have some serious love for them all! lol

One Night with the Bad Boy is the fourth book from the Whiskey River series, while each book can be read as a standalone I highly recommend you read them all as each book has been a fun and heartwarming read.

I'm loving the Whiskey River series by Eve Gaddy and Katherine Garbera, can't wait for Nick's story next =)

Thank you to Tule Publishing via Netgalley for the advance copy.

This book has me gushing. The story was sweet, the characters were adorable and the flicker of spark quickly burned out of control. Xander knew he wanted Bailey the minute he locked eyes on her. Bailey was wary because she knows his type and has been burned before. Xander stole a little more of my heart with every step he took to convince Bailey of his true intentions. His determination and own heartbreaks in his life allowed him to be patient and coax her out of her protective shell into his arms. The chemistry between Bailey and Xander was a plus for me but the bond of man and child toppled me over the edge. I received a copy of One Night with the Bad Boy in exchange for an honest review. What more can I say? I am in love.

Another quick and enjoyable read, One Night with the Bad Boy brings us Xander Blue and Bailey Richmond.

"Lord help her, she knew it was a bad idea to get involved with a coworker."

I'm quite partial to a good office romance and this one hits the spot. As Kelly Boots CFO, Bailey is driven and focussed on raising her son, Seth; anything more than a casual romance isn't on the cards and particularly with a man who has a love-em-and-leave-em reputation only in town for a year. Whilst he wasn't quite the bad boy I was expecting, Xander was charming, romantic and witty in all the right places and their chemistry was evident from the start. And when he unexpectedly meets her son, everything changes.

"We're not just about sex. I'm not sure we ever were."

If you're looking for a fairly low drama, engaging, sexy read then I recommend this. And with one brother left to go, I'm looking forward to Nicholas' story and seeing how the series ends.

One Night with the Bad Boy by Eve Gaddy is the fourth release in Whiskey River, a contemporary romance series that the author taking turns with writing duties with Katherine Garbera. This book shifts the spotlight on to the first of the Blue twins, Xander, and his love story with Kelly Boots chief financial officer, Bailey Richmond. Xander is adjusting to life in Whiskey River and being around his three brothers rather than just his twin. He's attracted to Bailey and he knows she's just as attracted to him, but she deflects his attention because she doesn't want to become involved with someone she works with, no thanks to her being in a relationship with her son's father, who just happened to be her boss in Kelly Boots. Xander is persistent and, obviously, Bailey's defenses crumble over time, and the two fall in love.

There were moments that Bailey's insistence that Xander not meet or even try to bond with her son Seth was frustrating, but I do understand where she was coming from. Xander may have had a reputation as a bad boy but he was certainly a good guy, both with Bailey and with Seth. I enjoyed reading how Bailey and Xander tried to find their way in their relationship, proving that trust is something that is earned over time. While the book itself is short, the story isn't a case of insta-love since it covers a period of several weeks and months. Bailey and Xander were a good couple and the addition of Seth as well as Xander's nosy brothers and Bailey's meddlesome parents, all of whom were well-meaning in their actions, made this an even better story and my favorite in the series so far. One Night with the Bad Boy gets 4.5 stars. ♥

I was introduced to this series by reading the novella “Where there’s a Will” by Katherine Garbera and Eve Gaddy and was more than happy to find this, the fourth book in the series. This time the story focus is on Xander Blue, who unexpectedly learnt that his father was Boots Kelly after being called, with his twin brother, to listen to his will being read. Now he's living on the ranch his father owned together with his twin and his step-brothers. Part of the terms of the will include insisting that all four men live and work together in Whisky River for a year and that if one leaves they all lose everything.

When Xander spots Bailey Richmond walking into the room he can't take his eyes off her, the attraction is instant. Bailey, however, has very good reasons not to trust men like him, one of which is her six year old son, Seth. Seth's father deserted her when she was six months pregnant and has never been in touch to see if she and his son are ok, indeed he's never even spoken to her since he ran. Can Xander help Bailey recover her trust in men and, more especially, teach her to trust him? Is this lust or love? Will they have a chance to find out?

Once more the impact of past events and relationships on the present are explored in a manner which makes it so easy to empathise with all characters concerned. The story has plenty of obstacles, twists and turns to keep it an interesting read and great addition to the Whiskey River series and a lovely, enjoyable romance to get lost in. I have heard of another book in this series being released in September (One Night with the Playboy by Katherine Garbera) and I'll certainly be looking out for it and other books by this author!

Other books in this series are:

“Where there’s a Will” by Katherine Garbera and Eve Gaddy
"One Night with the Cowboy" by Eve Gaddy
"One Night with the Tycoon" by Katherine Garbera
"One Night with the Bad Boy" by Eve Gaddy (Reviewed here)
"One Night with the Playboy" by Katherine Garbera Thanks to the author, publishers and NetGalley, too,
for letting me read an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Xander Blue knows he is not happy about finding out about his dad after his dad is gone and now he is left with a lot of questions and not very many answers. He does know this that Bailey is one very hot women he would like to know and know well, he just never expected her to deny him that. Bailey is looking out for number one her son and knows that there is no way she would ever consider having a relationship with anyone again who is a play boy and she has convinced herself that Xander is a love 'em and leave 'em kind of guy now she has to convince him that he and her are not a fit and protect her heart and her son in the process. I really love this book and this series, its fun and I love catching up with this cowboy town in Texas. I also loved the chemistry between the characters. I loved the personality the author portrayed of the sweet little boy but also dealing with adult situations. This was a fun and simple read that kept you guessing and a real page turner. I can't wait to read more about the Boots' Kelly Family and there fun friends. Your really can't go wrong with this group of books.

Four handsome, sexy brothers ready for love, commitment and a forever woman – what is there not to love about the Whiskey River series. In the fourth novel in the series we have Xander’s story. Xander, a handsome man who gets mistaken for his half-brother Trey more than his twin Nick. Not a player in the strictest meaning of the term, more a man who hasn’t met that one woman… yet.

Bailey would do anything to keep her son, Seth from being hurt. Including trying to keep the sexy man she’s attracted to and having sex with regularly completely separated from her son. She sees Xander as a player with a capital “P” and while she enjoys his company, and the lovin’ is good real good, Bailey doesn’t trust Xander to not hurt Seth – or truth be told, to not hurt her either. While Xander understands her so called rules, he’s never agreed to them – what Bailey thinks is probably a different story. For a time he was content to let things continue, then a chance meeting with Seth changes his mind – and Xander is about to break every rule Bailey has tossed up between them.

Even though they have said those magical words, “I love you” to each other, the reality of what those words mean is going to come crashing down on them both. Bailey is about to get a hard life lesson about love – without trust where does love come into a relationship.

One Night with the Bad Boy is an easy going story with two sexy, loveable people who need to be together – it’s just going to take a bit of trust to get to the happy ever after part. If there is one man who can understand Bailey’s concerns, as well as how her decisions will affect her son, it’s Xander. It was so enjoyable to see the situation from Xander’s point of view – hell, he and his brother never knew their father, or much about him until the reading of the will that brought them and their two half-brothers together. So on some level he “got” Bailey – but he also understood Seth, even hurt for the boy knowing the questions he’d have throughout his life. Yes, these two needed each other.

While you could read this story as a stand alone, it’s so much more satisfying if you pick up the entire series. Each story has each of the brothers and their ladies in them, but with enough conversation to get you up to date on the entire story line. Still, I would recommend all of the stories in Whiskey River, simply because they are fantastic, heartfelt, good stories.

*I received an e-ARC of One Night with the Bad Boy from the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. That does not change what I think of this novel.*

Loved this addition to Whiskey Creek, the story of Xander had my heart melting. Xander does not do long term relationships, Bailey is a single mom of six year old Seth, who has been burned in relationships. Once meeting Bailey, Xander knows she is the one, now can he prove himself to her.

I was cheering for Xander throughout the whole book, loved how he was with Seth even though Bailey did not want him to get to know her son.

This is a book that I did not want to see end. The characters are very true loving people, that will melt your heart too. I am already getting sad that we only have one book left in the series. This book can be read as a stand alone, but you too will love the Kelly boys.

I received this book from Netgalley for an honest review.

This was a fun, quick, light read and I really enjoyed it. In fact I’ve enjoyed all the Whiskey River books I’ve read so far. This is the story of Xander Blue and Bailey Richmond and they are really great together. Xander is one of Boots Kelly’s illegitimate sons and is in Whiskey River to fulfill the terms of his late father’s will which include living with his brothers and working at one of the family businesses. Bailey is a single mom and the CFO of Kelly Boots, where Xander is now working. Xander and Bailey have great chemistry and while Bailey fights their attraction for a while Xander wins her (and her son) over in the end. I really enjoyed watching thise two come together and fall in love. This book can be read as a standalone but I highly recommend the whole series as they are all quite good and tie together nicely. I received anARC of this book from the publisher through Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.

I've witnessed how Kelly Boots' infamously playboy sons Trey and Wyatt finally fell for in-love and thought of their future instead of jumping from one girl to another. Now, in the latest Whiskey River series, we get to meet Boots' two illegitimate sons, twins Nicholas and Xander Blue.

Bailey Richmond, Kelly Boots' CFO, caught the eyes of Xander and had never left her graces all throughout the Boots & Bangles Charity Gala. Bailey was a single mom to Seth, a hyperactive kid. Because Seth's father left them while she was six months pregnant, he never got to meet him, and Bailey never fell for any other men again. To her, there were two types of men - the players and the nice ones. But she preferred going out with the players because she thought the nice ones were boring.

Xander, who was definitely a prayer, soon had a change of heart. He found himself slowly falling for Bailey and her son. But because of Bailey's past, she'd grown weary and doubtful about X's intentions. Especially when Ryan, Seth's father, finally contacted her. Would these two love birds ever had a future together?

Oh, I think, among the Boots' brothers, I liked Xander best. He was so "sinfully gorgeous" and great with kids, a trait most women find endearing. I thought he and Bailey got great chemistry, too. The story wasn't very complex, but it was entertaining and nicely written. Cheers to another light and comfy read from Eve Gaddy :)

Great read and how can you not love Xander! He comes in and shakes up CFO Bailey's life. A single Mom, protective of her son, not getting involved.. Xander shakes all that resolve from Bailey's thinking! Hot Sexy Read!

One Night with the Bad Boy by Eve Gaddy is part of the Kelly Brothers of Whiskey River Series. While this is great as a stand-alone, I highly suggest that you start at the very beginning of this series. None of the novellas are particularly deep but all are fun, flirty reads beginning at the event that finishes up the previous story.

I like Xander from the very beginning, but it was interesting to see how Bailey thought he was a player. He had always seemed the more serious of the twins. I also think it is interesting how much he is like his older half-brothers even though when this story takes place he has only known them for a few months. If you had asked me Bailey is right to put her son first but really she needed Xander just so she could loosen up some. While the ending is predictable, the journey there is filled with potholes that these two must navigate through.

The perfect read for a lazy afternoon, quite enjoyable. This story has at least two supporting female characters that could be the one for twin brother, Nick. I can’t wait to see who lassoes this brother who really is a player.

The publisher through Net Galley provided a copy.

When a gorgeous, fun, kind, charming, and hot man falls, it is fun to watch it... Xander is all that and then some. He isn't used to relationships, the lasting kind. But he knows with Bailey he is in trouble from the first time they meet.
The connection between Bailey and Xander is so natural and smooth. They have some serious fireworks going on between them. And they don't mind to explore them, either. As long as Xander stays away from Seth, her son.
The conflict between them, and in the relationship, comes from Bailey's inability to trust, after what she went through in the past.
I liked the straight talk they had with each other, the honesty, no games. They admit when they are wrong, and make plans for avoiding that kind of conflict again.
Xander with Seth is just adorable! Those two have an instant connection, understanding, and trust. It is sweet, and so cute.
Fun, sexy, and entertaining, fast read for the weekend!

The Whiskey River series are as different and diverse as the amazing authors penning the love stories of the infamous Boots brothers along with their newfound Blues brothers.

Book four of the series “One Night With The Bad Boy”, finds the IT genius Xander Blue, falling hard for the CFO of Kelly Boots, Bailey Richmond. With a reputation of a bad boy and number of notches under his belt, Xander is fascinated with Bailey, with her beauty and her brains and frustrated with the distance she wants to maintain between them.

Bailey has been bitten hard, once. And her stature as a single mother only keeps her from getting into any relationships that might hurt her or her son. Focusing on her career and spending as much times as possible with her son, she refuses to acknowledge the sparks of attraction that Xander evokes.

Then again, where there is love there is a way and persistence that pays off. But the road to a future has its share of ups and downs, fears and insecurities. With a billionaire’s heart on the line, a sassy damsel sure is fighting a losing a battle. Xander and Bailey are two strong and independent individuals, lovable to the core, imperfect and totally human and kind. Love these two!

Eve Gaddy sure weaves a captivating story around the Blue brother and Bailey. I loved her focus of giving equal importance to the relationship between the brothers as well as the romance. I admire Eve Gaddy for creating situations where the brothers interact with each other, be it professionally or on a personal level, the narration never lags nor does it lose its charm.

Another charming story of love, family and support “One Night With The Bad Boy”, will leave your heart with warmth and smiles of a happily ever after story.

4 - A players stock in trade is charm. Stars!

Another enjoyable addition to the Whiskey River series. Xander and Bailey have sexy hot chemistry from the get-go, so it made this fourth novella in the series an easy story to read.

The addition of Bailey’s son added a little extra dimension, and I liked that Bailey wasn’t afraid to stand up to Xander, and was as confident, if not more-so than he was in going after what she wanted from their relationship.

”I want to be with you… whatever it takes.”

I don’t think the plot really offers any major surprises, but it was well written, the characters likeable and well developed for a book of this length. Well worth a couple of hours of your time, and easily read as a standalone if you haven’t read the previous novellas.

ARC generously provided via Netgalley, it was a pleasure to provide the above honest review.

I really liked this book it was sweet & sexy but also one that stays with you. Xander & Bailey have sparks from the onset but they are put on hold until Bailey can no longer stand it. Starting out as no strings turns into something romantic for them & to my surprise it's Xander who wants so much more. I do hope there is more because it ended so abruptly, I'd like to see closure for all the brothers. Also why did his mother come to town?

Book Review: One Night with the Bad Boy by Eve Gaddy

On the continuing saga of the heirs of Books Kelly from Whiskey River, Texas, author Eve Gaddy gives us Xander Blue, an IT genius who has always been a love ’em and leave ’em kind of guy for the fourth book in the series.

Oh my! The world had really changed. During the 1990s and even as late as early 2000s, the geeks don’t get the girl. Now, they are even considered bad boys.

“One Night with the Bad Boy” is another delightful novella from Whiskey River! Eve Gaddy does it again!

“One Night with the Bad Boy” is Rated M for Mature due to sexual content.

This is the 4th book in the Whiskey River Series and while they are stand alone, I would highly recommend reading the series from the start. You get the background on the brothers and their stories are good so you won't want to miss them. This is Xander's story and it is one of my favorites. He is gorgeous, fun, kind and oh so charming...but not a guy who commits to one woman. Enter Bailey.....and Xander knows from the start that he is in trouble. The attraction between Bailey and Xander is immediate and the connection is natural and smooth. They have some serious fireworks going on between them and they don't mind exploring them. Bailey has been burned in the past and she is set on protecting her son from being hurt by someone that is in and out of her life. The conflict between them, and in the relationship, comes from Bailey's inability to trust, after what she went through in the past. I liked that they were straight with each other from the start...there were no games between them. This is a good, fast read that will definitely hold your interest.

I breezed through this novella because I enjoyed it so much. Xander Blue is one of Boots Kelly's illegitimate twins. Now that he knows who his father is, he tries to find his place and fulfill the requirements of his father's will, living and working with his brothers for a year. He isn't a cowboy, but finds his spot working with Kelly Boots' financial computer systems. When he meets CFO Bailey Richmond, the attraction is mutual, until life intrudes. Bailey has done the work romance once and was left six months pregnant. Now she has no interest in a work fling or bringing anyone into her little boy's life. The more time they spend together, the more Xander wants. He just needs to convince Bailey that he is more than a fling and wants to be with her and Seth for the long haul and won't let them down?
I love Xander and Bailey together. They had chemistry and were fun together. I love Bailey's protectiveness over her son. Seth was such a great character, and Xander was great with him, and the rest of her family, once they met.
This was a fun addition to the Whiskey River Series. It is well-written and, if you haven't read any of the others in the series, you won't feel lost, as Gaddy weaves in the back story in such a way that you don't feel lost or that you are repeating too much. These are fun characters and a great story to get lost in for a few hours.

So, we've pretty much been hooked on this series since we first read about the crazy will that brought together four bothers in Where There's a Will.

In this book we follow Xander Blue and Bailey Richmond as they conquer some personal obstacles to find their happily ever after with each other.

While this book can be read on its own, I very strongly recommend reading the books in order. In this one we have drama and whole lot of love. The characters were really enjoyable; Xander and Bailey really get you hooked.

Katherine Garbera and Eve Gaddy have really delivered with this great, must read series.
