I was given a copy of You Can't Hide through the publisher and their partnership with Netgalley in exchange for my honest review which is as follows:
Cara's twin brother is putting his Sister's protection in Gage's hand. If Mercado finds her she will be killed. Neither Gage or Cara are thrilled with the fact that she is stuck their alone on an Island with this man but he is going to protect her because he owes his life to her brother.
Cara believes her brother and Gage are both spies. Cara is none too pleased with the way Gage treats her.
Mercado is a ruthless drug smuggler who has no problem killing anyone who gets in his way.
Soon Cara finds herself falling for Gage he is quickly feeling like more than her protector.
Will Cara an Gage survive long enough to build a life together.
I give this book five out of five stars
Happy Reading.
This story was action-packed from the opening chapter to the very end! The drama and suspense was definitely on point, and Cara's commitment to her faith was comforting and inspiring. The plot was a strong one involving the DEA and drug smuggling, and the dialogue felt natural for the most part.
Although Ms. Davy writes well, for me, this book as a romance just did not work. After only a few days, Cara, who has dated someone for years without becoming intimate decides that she is ready to make Gage her husband in less than a week. Gage for his part is very bitter over an extreme injury to his leg that has permanently derailed a career he loves and caused him to doubt that God even exists. After 24 hours with Cara, he is suddenly actively praying and contemplating Cara as his life partner. This just did not make sense.
If this truly is to be a romantic suspense novel, there just needed to be more romance, dating, and in depth conversations to establish Gage and Cara as a potential couple. Instead, this just felt like a mockery of marriage.
This was a suspense-filled clean romance. Cara Dalton was a mild-mannered librarian who lived a very ordinary life until she went to Columbia to find her brother and was mistaken as a witness to a drug cartel execution of a DEA agent. She was now on the run and in real danger of being eliminated by a sadistic killer who wanted to silence her. Her brother was secretly working undercover and called in a favor with a former partner of his.
Gage McKenna was a DEA agent who had been seriously wounded and was recovering from his injury. He had been tortured and left for dead by the same killer who was now after Cara. Cara's brother asked him for help to protect his sister from the danger she was in. Gage and Cara were both attracted to each other but had both been in disastrous relationships and were hesitant to get involved with anyone again. But, could they spend so much time together in hiding and still keep their feelings for one another in check? Would they be able to live through this nightmare?
You'll have to get a copy for yourself and see how it ends. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I felt that there was a good balance of realism to the story while remaining clean and without all the gory details of the violence that was a part of the story. Well done. I will definitely look for more by this author.

This is a rip roaring roller coaster riding white water rafting blow your mind elevator dropping ride of a time. You open the book like you do every single time you open a book, you take in a breath , then a page or two later you find yourself gasping for air becAuse it was so intense you forgot to breathe. It actually happened s a few more places in the book. Awesome. It has drugs, romance, running from drug smugglers, romance, oh yeah Anand the best thing in it all ...Romance. ....Don't just stand there GO BUY THE BOOK.
This my first book to read by this author and I am sure it will not be the last. I enjoyed reading how Cara Dalton follows her twin brother who is away on a mission in Columbia. She hopes to surprise him, but she is the one who is surprised. she discovers that not only is he not on a mission trip like she assumed, but that he is actually involved in an investigation against a drug cartel. While she is there a murder is committed and the drug lord assumes that she has seen everything. He thinks she can testify against him so he must silence her. Her twin Jonas, has his best friend Gage to go to her apartment when she returns to the states and take her to a safe place. There is suspense and danger through out the pages, but all written in such a way as to keep you turning the pages. Also there is romance building between Gage and Cara. I liked the positive Christian message woven throughout the story. Looking forward to the next book by this author…..
