Description

On the Number 17 bus, serving downtown Seattle, widower Jimmy Carter (not the former U.S. president) crashes headlong into the Almighty...

Jimmy is lost without his wife. He measures his days as the time After Ruthie. It's now the year A. R. 4. When God starts speaking to him on the 17, Jim reluctantly agrees to serve, uncertain if he’s gone off the deep end or if God—Who can do most things on His own—is really so desperate as to need Jimmy to lend a hand.

When love blossoms, hurting people are restored, and lives are saved—and lost, Jimmy discovers he's linked to God in a most profound way.

I was given a copy of the 17 through the publisher and their partnership with Netgalley in exchange for my honest review which is as follows:

A man begins hearing voices on Bus 17 in the year A.R 4 on St. Swithin's Day. A.R four for the four years since his wife Ruthie passed.

James wife Ruthie died of a rare blood disease leaving a gaping hole in his life. She was a strong believer who worked in the toddler pod at a local Presbyterian Church.

A few days later James hears a warning of a girl with a bomb in her backpack, so he tackles her to the ground and when the bomb is found and goes off the detectives wonder how he knew that the bomb was in the backpack.

The voice warns him of dangers, encourages him to give things to those in meed, could the voice James hears be the voice of the Lord?
