Description
You’ll find exclusive excerpts of seven titles due for publication during the months of July and August in this sampler.
Begin with a darkly comic novel, French Exit, from bestselling author Patrick deWitt about a wealthy widow and her adult son who flee New York for Paris in the wake of scandal, then read Kristan Higgin’s funny novel about women’s body image and friendship, Good Luck With That. Ottessa Moshfegh follows up her Booker-nominated novel Eileen with another idiosyncratic work, My Year of Rest and Relaxation. The first novel in ten years from Keith Gessen, A Terrible Country looks at family loyalty in Russia, while Beatriz Williams tells the story of a wealthy New England family in Summer Wives.
Rounding out this monthly are two debuts: Baby Teeth by Zoje Stage is a thriller about a little girl and her parents while Jack Ford’s Chariot on the Mountain is based on a historical court case in the Old South.

Buzz Books Monthly Review is a great tool to plan future reads. I look forward to reading Kristin Higgins’ novel Good Luck with That, The Summer Wives by Beatrix Williams and Zoge Stage’s Baby Teeth. Thanks!
I think these little samplers are amazing for generating interest in novels that may be underrated or unheard of and informing everyone of new novels from popular authors.
I found the first novel in this sampler, French Exit, was an interesting writing style. While I may not pick this novel up due to the subject matter and my interest in the novel, I was intrigued and liked the author's style.
I really enjoyed the preview of Baby Teeth. I have never read a novel by the author of this novel, but I was intrigued. The subject matter is fascinating, and I most definitely picking this novel up.

This is a short but sweet collection of intriguing choices. A little bit of everything, and more than just beach reads. Whether you're interested in the plots and characters and genres, or not, all of the excerpts were very well written. A nice collection.
Buzz Books always adds to my TBR list! I am most excited for Summer Wives by Beatriz Williams. i had not heard about that one prior to this publication. i was aware of the hype around Good luck with that and this solidified my need to give it a chance. There are also a half dozen of so of the books listed but not featured) that i need to learn more about. thanks Publishers launch for Buzz Books

Thanks to Publishers Lunch BUZZ BOOKS and NetGalley for this fun read. Opinions are mine.
JULY/AUGUST 2018 BUZZ BOOK MONTHLY includes samples of various books being released soon. It was very helpful to read and enjoyable as well. I found the samples delightful and am looking forward to purchasing some of the books when they are published. Thank you Netgalley for allowing me to read and review this book.
Fabulous titles in the July/August 2018 Buzz Books Monthly instalment. Some wonderful new authors and titles I have requested and hopefully will be approved for.
Thanks once again for some great excerpts to digest.
Interesting novels. I like how buzz books provides excerpts to give us an idea of which books we’d be interested in. Really allows us to explore genres outside our niche
As always, some interesting books to look out for. At least three caught my eye this time.
The first one is French Exit by Patrick de Witt, The excerpt ended too soon - I want to read more.
A Terrible Country by Keith Gessen also sounds good. Initially I thought it might not be for me but I think I would enjoy this one set in Russia. Andrei who has grown up in America, moves from New York to Moscow to care for his ailing, elderly grandmother who sounds like a wonderfully interesting character. Sounds like lots of potential for comedy and heartbreak. I guess I'll have to read it to find out.
The third book that appeals to me is Chariot on the Mountain by Jack Ford, a novel based on a true Court case from 1846 America.
