Description
I was twelve years old when I met one of the world’s hottest celebrities.
Thirteen when I was welcomed into his family. Fourteen when I realized what his unconditional love felt like. Fifteen when he helped me figure out what hope was. And sixteen when my mother’s biggest lie changed our lives forever.
I swore I would never be like the woman whose chronic lies impacted everybody around her, but then I’d be a hypocrite. Because three years after the truth came out, and I reunited with the boy whose innocent love had been taken from me, I realized I was living the biggest lie of all. The one where I pretended I wasn’t in love with Kyler Bishop.

Audiobook was a good choice for this book. The slow burn story almost had me dnf-ing, but then a situation came and I got more interested. I think 15hrs is still a long time for a romance novel!
A rockstar romance, slow burn love and age gap. The characters were good and the storytelling is great. I haven’t read any books by this author, so have no idea about the writing style, but I agree her style is more different than other romance authors. There is a lot of feel, heart and explanations. Its was enjoyable on audio. [3.5/5]
Thank you Podium and Netgalley for the audio listening copy.
Tyler and Laughton met when she was 12. Due to circumstances, their lives headed in separate directions. Years later life brings them back once and for all.
This is a slow burn romance, emphasis on slow. I’m usually patient for this type of plot, but I felt this one was a little too slow. As the story went on, I understood why, B. Celeste explains the past and the present. Which I’m quite happy she did. This love story had a unique beginning that was complicated, but not too complicated to where our hearts get broken and then have to be mended.
I will say, out of all the characters involved, Leighton’s develops the most. That’s probably due to the life she has endured. She shows resilience, determination, and a positive outlook in life and people.
Eloquently written, regardless of the slow start, I was automatically interested in knowing where this story was going. The ending did not disappoint.
