The ARC of this book was provided by the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

The ‘My First Little People, Big Dreams’ series provides informative and inspirational biographies about people who left a mark on this earth, no matter what difficulties they have encountered.
These stories are very short, but that’s because they’re books for children, so it’s totally understandable.
I think they are a very smart and wonderful way to introduce little children to such important figures.
This little book tells the story of J. R. R. Tolkien, the great writer, and forefather of the fantasy genre. He's an incredibly fascinating person and author, I'm happy children have the opportunity to find out about his life and creations.

Thank you, Quarto Publishing Books Frances Lincoln Children's, for the advance reading copy.

I feel this book in the Little People, BIG DREAMS series is a huge improvement from the previous productions from the team. The books are awesome, perfect and precious but this one has set a higher level which I feel would be really difficult for the upcoming releases to surpass.

The illustrations are dreamy perfect. Kudos to the artist! You deserve all the love and praise from all over the world. Your work needs to be appreciated more. Hope your efforts are recognised far and wide.

Regarding the personality described, it is so well done focusing on the most important stages of the well loved writer's life.

You will love this book. I am so happy I got the ARC.

I enjoy this series of beginner biographies. They offer enough information to arouse the curosity of young readers without overwhelming them. In this title we are told the story of Tolkien's life from his birth in South Africa to his work on The Silmarillion during his final years. More details are included in the back matter along with archival photos. The illustrations capture the imagination of young Tolkien, beginning with the cover art showing him peering through a golden ring. Other images include a scene of Tolkien sitting beneath a tree as Bilbo runs up the hill behind him to catch up to Gandalf and the dwarves, and there is also a spread that shows him catching sight of children acting out his stories as he walks past the library door. Readers who are familiar with the recent Lord of the Rings films may be surprised to see how long ago the stories were written, or to learn of Tolkien's own experiences in World War I and II.

As a reader of fantasy and a huge fan of J.R.R. Tolkien's writing, I've loved sharing his biography with my children via this new title in the hugely popular Little People Big Dreams series.

The book takes the reader on a journey through Tolkien's life. His passion for creating worlds and inventing languages are at the centre, but we also read about his family, and the friendships and losses in his life.
For me, Aaron Cushley's illustrations were the element that made this title stand out: the idyllic landscapes were reminiscent of the Shire, the big city gave off vibes of Mordor, and I was absolutely delighted that the fellowship made an appearance in the background of one of the spreads.

Thanks to Quarto Publishing Group, Frances Lincoln Children's Books and NetGalley for providing me with an electronic copy of this amazing title for review.

Really interesting to learn about J R R Tolkien. I’ve never looked into his life, and alongside such beautiful illustrations it’s perfect for all the family!

Thank you to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group for granting me this terrific kid's biography on one of the most beloved authors of all time. Easy to understand with beautiful illustrations accompanying the text, the book adequately covers JRR Tolkien's life. Would definitely recommend for young readers.

I have always wanted to read one of the Little People Big Dreams books since it is such an interesting manner to teach kids about famous people. Something I wish I could have gotten in my childhood.

Reading this book about J. R. R Tolkien's life in a very, very simple manner was insightful and cute. Having read a bit about his life, I knew most of it but I would definitely recommend this for younger readers so they can know the person that Tolkien was. More than the text of the book, the illustrations really worked for me. The colours, the portrayal of light in almost every panel was wonderfully done.

Thanks to NetGalley and Frances Lincoln Children's Books for the ARC.

This has to be the cutest book ever! I am a huge fan of J. R. R. Tolkien because of The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings, but also a fan of him as a person and as a professor! He was so intelligent and it must have been such an honor to have him in class.

This book is intended for children and so it is very short and does not go into huge detail, but I loved it nonetheless and I am thinking about who I can buy this to as a present. (maybe my future kids? hahah)

All in all, congrats to the author and illustrator because wow!

I received an electronic ARC from Quarto Publishing Group – Frances Lincoln Children's Books through NetGalley.
This biography lives up to Sanchez Vegara's high standards. Readers see John Ronald Reuel's life from infancy through creating his fantasy masterpieces. The author writes at a level for elementary students and brings them in to be part of the narrative. They walk with Tolkien as he loses first his father, then his mother; they sit with him as he explores his love for writing and see him create his own languages and worlds. Cushley's illustrations support the text and assist in bringing Tolkien to life for younger readers.
The timeline included at the end offers further information.
Sanchez Vegara has a gift for bringing historical figures to life for elementary level readers. She chooses language they will connect with and offers just enough information to capture her subject's life.

A short, colourful biography of J.R.R Tolkien, one of the founding fathers of modern fantasy literature. I knew very little about Tolkien going into this and enjoyed learning a little about his life and his lifelong passion for writing. I also really liked the illustrations by Aaron Cushley.

These biographies are age appropriate; inspiring and interesting, but not overwhelming. They have bright, beautiful illustrations, striking covers, and look great on a shelf together. I love the diversity of the people featured in this series. Artists, athletes, authors, activists, actors, explorers, entertainers, musicians and scientists.

Thank you NetGalley and Frances Lincoln Children's Books for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

I received an ARC of, J.R.R. Tolkien, by Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara. I have always been fascinated with J.R.R. Tolkien. J.R.R. Tolkien was a religious man with the gift of language. He was an amazing writer, he loved language.

Thank you NetGalley and publishers for this ARC.
J.R.R. Tolkien is one of my favorite authors, so when I saw that there was an ARC for this book, I had to read it. This book gives a short summary of Tolkien’s life with some really nice illustrations and some interesting facts that I hadn’t heard before. It’s definitely a great introduction to J.R.R. Tolkien and his work, so I'd recommend it to anyone interested in that. (Or anyone wanting to get their kids/siblings/... to read his books :) )

A great primary introduction to the life and works of Tolkien. Suitable for young children with simple and concise text, this biography is just enough to begin a research project or spark a child’s interest. I would recommend this for kindergarten- 2nd graders. For research purposes supplemental materials would be required but there are some great ones provided in the back of this book.

A perfect short biography of J.R.R Tolkien. The illustrations match wonderfully and the story offers just enough facts to keep it interesting. As a lover of Tolkien, I didn’t know some of what was included which made the read enjoyable for me as well

John Ronald Reuel or what most of us know him by J. R. R. Tolkien, the writer and creator of Middle Earth and The Lord Of The Rings
Tolkien is considered the founding father of modern fantasy literature.

His life was filled with sadness and loneliness, which included losing both his parents, fighting in WW1 and more, but his daydreams saved him helped him create a beautiful world that he would eventually share with the world.

He turned his passion of creating a different world and language into stories which children today can use to launch themselves into another world, perhaps the catalyst for big dreams!
The beautiful illustrations by Aaron Cushley and simplistically written by Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara, this is one of the Little People, BIG DREAMS books you’ll want to add to your collection.

100% recommend for everyone not just children.

As a massive fan of Tolkien I was really happy to get the chance to read this book. I didn't learn anything, as I said, I'm a big fan, but I think this is a nice resumé of his life and that this short biography could introduce him to a new generation of reader!

I was excited to see this book is coming out since we were getting ready to listen to The Hobbit. It was really interesting learning about J.R.R. Tolkien’s life in a child friendly way. The illustrations in the book really made the book come to life. My youngest even asked to read it again, which is a rare occurrence. We all really enjoyed this book.

Okay- this probably has to be one of my favorites in the little series! My 9 year old and 7 year old also read this with me and loved the illustrations, and loved learning a little about the author of The Hobbit- they’re recently starting to watch the movies and have heard the hobbit on audio. Very well put together!

What a lovely little biography of Tolkien. It’s a wonderful addition to the collection. I feel the influences of Tolkien’s life—the loss of his parents, his experiences in the war—were deftly handled here; mentioned and identified but in a gentle way that can foster further discussion. I was pleased to see the Silmarillion mentioned. Lovely illustrations.

J.R.R. Tolkien is a great addition to the Little People, Big Dreams series. His writing, and the films that were produced from it are awe-inspiring and gorgeous stories about language and friendship.

Specifically, the story of Bilbo is such a powerful one for young minds, that even one so small as a Hobbit can make a difference. It’s a beautiful message for kids, and I’m glad to see this series continue to expand to meet the interests of all children across all backgrounds.

A nice little biography of JRR Tolkien (author of The Hobbit and Lord of the RIngs) for young readers, filled with cartoonish illustrations showing Tolkien growing from a little boy who loved to make up stories and new languages to a bestselling author who never stopped writing. The last two pages are suitable for older readers as well, containing real photographs and more specific details about Tolkien's life such as his serving in the army in World War I and his work as a code-breaker during World War II. I would recommend this book to young fans of Middle Earth who want to know more about its creator!

I went into this children's book 100% prepared to be sad about J.R.R. Tolkien, then was surprised it made me, in fact, sad about J.R.R. Tolkien. A cute biography about the father of fantasy fiction that does not exploit the success of the movie adaptations of LOTR and actually focuses on his passion for linguistics and the inspiration behind his best-known of stories. Sweet!

This was an absolutely adorable book about the Master of Fantasy, J. R. R. Tolkein. It is beautifully illustrated and was short and sweet. The only thing I found was that it was a bit too short, Tolkein had quite a life filled with creation BUT I know this is for younger readers. I just enjoyed it so much and wanted more!

[Reviewed through Netgalley]

An absolutely adorable biography on the life of Tolkien. The story was short and sweet, filled with lively art.

It was a good introduction to the author, touching on themes like environmentalism, friendship, and family in an easy to digest way.

Since Tolkien's life was not an easy one, the book needed to touch on tough themes such as death (and even war). Its plain and clear language was easy to understand, appropriate for children, and did not sugar coat the often harsh realities of life and history.

I enjoyed the timeline given at the end of the book, which was perfect for those who wanted a bit more detail about the famous author's life, or wanted to learn a bit more about him.

To improve, I think that since the book did talk so much about his family and friends, it would be nice to have a direct reference to how they helped shape the stories he told.

All in all this book was quite enjoyable, perfect to read to children at a library.

Current and prospective fans of Middle-earth will enjoy learning about young JRR and how he grew up to be a well-known author. It is a lovely story about the gift of writing and the belief in ordinary heroes.

Young John Ronald Reuel moved to England when he was three. He lived out his life there with losses (his father, his mother, friends from school who died in war) and the wonders of his mind. Tolkien, in over 900 pages, created an indelible world which has been his gift to readers for generations.

Read this book and watch how the young Ronald, who created imaginary languages, grew up to be the author. It is an impressive journey told here with evocative illustrations. Note that there are a timeline and additional resources at the end of the book.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Quarto-Frances Lincoln Children’s Books for this title. All opinions are my own.

Another one of the Little People, BIG DREAMS series. This one tells the life of author J. R. R. Tolkien. I loved the illustrations in this book, they are so detailed. Tolkien's life also makes for an inspiring story, but mostly I enjoyed the illustrations. Definitely a keeper!

This is my first book in the series "Little People, Big Dreams" I read and I could not resist it because it was about one of my favorite writers "J.R.R. Tolkien". I have to say that I loved the experience and the illustrations were so cute. A good book for little people indeed, in order to let them discover who is behind some of the greatest books of the fantasy genre.

I've been curious about the Little People, Big Dreams collection for a while now. I kept seeing raving reviews of multiple books belonging to this proliferative series, and I couldn't resist adding Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara's newest installment featuring J.R.R. Tolkien to my shelves. What better way to get an introduction to this series than with a bookish person? And I can definitely understand my love for this collection now.

The Little People, Big Dreams books are picture books designed for the younger readers (4-7 years) and they form the perfect short and easy to understand introduction to the lives of important people. They are biographies that are designed for small children to get a basic idea of what the life of the person in question was like and what they did that made them stand out. It's a great way to spark interest and make them want to discover more about the person in the spotlight... In this case, the life of John Ronald Reuel; better know under his pen name J.R.R. Tolkien. While it's true that most children won't have heard of him nor his books before, they might remember him when they grow a little older and want to start reading fantasy. The Hobbit is also a great book to read together with (slightly older) children for an introduction to his work of course.

The illustrations themselves are wonderful and really complement the story. I really liked the use of color and I'm sure they will be very appealing to the target group. I did feel the beginning of the story was a bit dark for such a young reader? There was nothing too explicit and J.R.R. Tolkien had a very sad beginning of his life of course, but still. As a philologist, I could really appreciate the mention of his love for languages and philology: I would have loved to hear even more about the language creation and its importance in the worldbuilding, but it was a bonus to have it mentioned at all. The incorporation of why he created his fantasy world in the first place was also a great touch.

Between the charming illustrations and short and easy to understand text, younger readers will be delighted to read this biography and learn the basics about J.R.R. Tolkien. It's a great introduction to the author's life, and I can't wait to discover more of this Little People, Big Dreams collection!

My thanks to Quarto Group - Francis Lincoln Children’s Books for a temporary digital edition via NetGalley of ‘J.R.R. Tolkien’, written by Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara and illustrated by Aaron Cushley in exchange for an honest review.

This is a recent addition to the publishers highly acclaimed ‘Little People, BIG DREAMS’ series of mini-biographies that introduces young readers, aged 4-7, to the lives of people who have excelled across various disciplines, including writers, artists, musicians, political figures and more.

I am always impressed how well Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara distills her subjects’ childhoods, including their dreams and aspirations, and demonstrates how these were carried into their adult lives.

Aaron Cushley’s illustrations were adorable and suited his subject, emphasising Tolkien’s love of nature. My favourite picture shows the adult Tolkien sitting under a tree while in the background Bilbo runs to join Gandalf and the dwarves as they embark on their journey.

The book ends with a biographical timeline accompanied by photographs and a suggestion for further reading at an older level.

J.R.R. Tolkien’s writings played an important role in my childhood since I first discovered ‘The Hobbit’ and that admiration has continued throughout my life.

This was another delightful addition to this excellent series and I have no hesitation in recommending it to parents, educators, and librarians as a way to inspire children to follow their dreams as well as to introduce them to nonfiction. It also would make a thoughtful gift for little ones, who may soon be introduced to hobbits, the Shire and Middle Earth.

This is my first "Little People, Big Dreams" read and it's a great introduction to J.R.R. Tolkein's biography. Illustrated by Aaron Cushley, this is a stunning book.

Beautifully written in a way that is suitable for young minds, Vegara tells this story in a flowing, easy to understand format. It doesn't shy away from some of the hardships Tolkein faced, especially as a young child. The story still feels "light" in spite of this and inspires the younger generation to dream big, which in my opinion is the purpose of this book series.

My son did wonder why all the adults only had one long eyebrow. Lol the things kids notice!

Another great addition to the little people big dreams series! I'm ashamed to admit I knew next to nothing about J.R.R. Tolkien expect for the memes about his names. Quick and factual this was a great little way to learn more about him. The illustrations were a lovely accompaniment to the story.

Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for providing me with an arc for an honest review!

I'm a little ashamed to admit that despite having a Hobbit-themed bedroom and a cat named after my favorite Hobbit, Pippin, I didn't actually know what the JRR stood for prior to reading this book. Thankfully, that has now been rectified. This was an adorable little book about a man who created a world that means so much to so many people. I really enjoyed the timeline in the back for more advanced readers or those seeking to learn more than the story offered. Great addition to a library or classroom!

What I was looking for: I had seen other installments of these "Little people, big dreams" books in the children’s section and wanted to see one for myself. Also, I wanted to learn more about J. R. R. Tolkien.

What I got: Such a beautiful book! The artwork is great, whimsical and captivating. Obviously, given the target age group and length, the life of J.R.R. Tolkien can only be a rough sketch. But it still gave a good overview and also mentions hard times, i.e. the death of both of his parents and WW1. A great book which I would gift to every young child.

The “Little People, BIG DREAMS” series is something special. It teaches kids about important people to know! It continues on with this brand new edition featuring J.R.R. Tolkien!

🧙🏻‍♂️🧝🏻‍♂️ Tolkien was such an interesting person to learn about in this book! After so much tragedy in his life, he found such comfort in writing these amazing tales of imaginary worlds!

🧙🏻‍♂️🧝🏻‍♂️ Not only this book, but all books in this series show inspirational messages to kids with showing them that the impossible is possible if you try hard enough and dream BIG!

This was an absolutely delightful children's picture book. If you love Tolkien and want to start your littles young, this is a great place to start. It gives a brief biography of his life [I learned several things that I didn't know] and his love of Middle Earth and will lead into more discussions about this amazing man and his fantastic fantasy world. The illustrations are just delightful and will add to the discussion for sure.

Overall, this was as close to perfect as a children's biography can get; the Little People - BIG DREAMS series is just delightful overall and this edition just makes it shine that much more.

VERY well done.

Such a fan of the Little People, Big Dreams series by Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara. It is such a treat when you are reading about someone to a child but you also learn something during that process. I had seen the movies, I knew it was based on a book, I knew the author of the books, but I had no idea about J. R. R. Tolkien's life, and in these series, you are always learning something new. My personal favorite is the timeline at the end because it shows the adult being read about and the children could see how from a child with a passion or a special interest you can carry it on to make something really special into their adulthood or profession, that's the best lesson ever.

I have already confessed my love for the Little People, Big Dreams series. I jump to read the each new edition in the series!
Up next… J. R. R Tolkien author of the world famous The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. Though many young readers may not yet have read these amazing stories, nor seen the movies this is a great way to introduce this literary genius to inspire starting readers to read these books later in life. Did you know that J. R. R Tolkien made up MANY of his own languages?! He was such an interesting man to learn about. The story is easy enough for young readers to learn about the author and interesting enough for older readers to enjoy as well.

The illustrations are true to the Little People, Big Dreams series, cute, detailed and sure to captivate the attention of readers of all ages.

Grateful to have received a digital copy of this book from NetGalley & Quarto Publishing.

John Ronald Reuel Tolkien, the famous author of The Lord of The Ring trilogy. A young boy with his share of difficulties in life, but remain true to his passion: writing. Though he finished creating Lord of The Ring in 17 years, his determination amazed me. And of course, these series are wonderful way to encourage children to read, and to dream, then believe that anything is possible when you have a goal in you.

J.R.R. Tolkien is the newest lead in this latest edition of the Little People, BIG DREAMS series by Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara. This series is such a delight and the perfect way to educate not just kids but everyone about historic and cultural icons.

J.R.R. Tolkien was an English writer, poet, philologist, and academic, best known as the author of the high fantasy works The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. This book follows Toklien at his time at King Edward's School to his writing of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings.

Aaron Cushley illustrates this installment and does a fantastic job. Cushley's art style was so captivating and his art definitely further helped tell Toklien's story. I love collecting these books and am so thrilled to add this one to the rest of my collection.

I didn't knew so much about the talented J.R.R. Tolkien so this was an intresting book for me even though it is a book for kids around the ages 3-6.

Just like with every other book in this series the pictures are so good and invites to have a small talk with a child about whats in it.

Apparently it took J.R.R. Tolkien 12 years to finish the Lord of the Rings and since it was over 9000 pages long it became three books instead of one.

I hope so much that this one is coming out sometime in Swedish so I can buy it to the collection me and Ru have.

Thanks to @netgalley for letting me read this one :)

By far my favorite of this little series so far. Maybe because of how much I love Tolkien, but also the artwork and tones and colors on the page are BEAUTIFUL. And the description of his creativity, ideas and writing was done so well. Love the scenes chosen for each page. Just so well done!

I absolutely love these Little People Big World books from NetGalley.

I love learning new trivia about famous people in history that are really popular for a specific area (aka hobbits and magic rings and creating languages) and yet are fascinating as a whole.

Tolkien was in both WW1 and WW2. He worked as a code breaker. He was born in South Africa.

I feel like I know him just a fraction better and writer to writer I love learning about the history of some my faves!

J.R.R. Tolkien by Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara is a great quick book to introduce kids to the amazing author of Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. The pictures are bright and interesting and the information is simple and fun. I love this set of biographies for kids and would recommend it to anyone with children.

This picture book biography is written about J.R.R. Tolkien, author of the hobbit and Lord of the Rings. The story beings with his childhood in South Africa, follows his childhood and adolescence in England, his family and how he found success as an author. A common theme woven throughout is his passion for literature. The story ends with a timeline and some pictures/biographical information about him.

Each page has beautiful, colour-filled pages with 3-4 lines of text. There is a lot of great biographical information, but it also follows a story that will hook young readers. I believe this book would be best fit for children in the 7-11 age range, and while the Hobbit and LOTR are generally aimed more at older students, I think that children might still enjoy reading and learning about a famous author, and maybe some preteens have watched the movies! As a grade 3 teacher I could definitely see this book in my classroom library in the future!

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for giving me the opportunity to read and review a digital ARC of this book!

I love this series! A fantastic way to learn about famous people, for children (and adults) of all ages.

I didn’t know much at all about Tolkien until I read this book. A great introduction to one of the finest writers of his generation.
Thank you NetGalley for my copy.

Thank you so much to Quarto/ Frances Lincoln and Netgalley for the ebook to read and review.

This book follows the life of author J. R. R. Tolkien who went in to write the world famous Lord of the Rings books.

I personally knew nothing of him at all, I haven’t read his books either, but I thought it might be interesting to read about him and it actually was.

From an early age he had already gone through so much with parental loss and moving but his imagination never dwindled. I love that he never lost his imagination though all he went through. Then after the war his writing dreams became a reality, and he became popular which is so sweet.

He sounded like a very interesting man, creating his fantasy world, telling stories to his friends and his children, seeing this world of his own become loved by everyone else. He took his time writing because the story mattered and he loved what he was doing.

I really enjoyed reading this one, another great book in this series on yet another incredible person. I always mention it but this series is so important and really should be read with children, they get to learn so much and inspire them in so many ways.

I loved the woodland art, and I loved the attention to his interest in linguistics. I'd have loved Easter eggs of the stories, but they likely would've cheapened the book as a whole. I'm a big fan of this installment!

With thanks to the author, Quarto Publishing Group, and NetGalley for providing me with a digital review copy of this book in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

A short and concise summary of the life of J. R. R. Tolkien, author of The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings among other works. I have read and enjoyed the LOTR, but confess to knowing nothing about the personal story of the author prior to reading this book, which I really enjoyed and was which was wonderfully complemented by the illustrations. The reference to another book for those interested in learning more about J. R. R. Tolkien was also a nice addition.

A fun and informative read, and one that makes me want to seek out others in the series.

The Little People Big Dreams series is one of my favorite children's series. Even when I read about people I know, I still learn something new. And I think they are great editions to any library or classroom. This one is all about the early life of JRR Tolkien, the author of the Lord of the Rings. It's interesting and engaging and a great new one for the series.

Thanks to netgalley for a free copy in exchange for an honest review!

I knew nothing about Tolkien. I haven't read the books (i know dreadful). I haven't seen the films either!
But this book is lovely. The illustrations of this and the other books in the Little People Big dreams books are just so beautiful. The story of his life is interesting, particularly the ideas about making up the languages when he was a child.
Will be adding this to the library wishlist.

I received an advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.

J. R. R. Tolkien is one of the most recent books in the Little People Big Dreams series and is aimed at readers a little older than the original books. I absolutely love the illustrations in this book! They're amazing and perfectly fit the book. J. R. R. Tolkien lived such an interesting life and even though he faced loss and went to war, he made his dream come true. I love the Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings so much and I'm so glad this amazing fantasy author got a place in this fabulous series! I didn't know Tolkien was originally from South Africa which is interesting to know. I hope children love this beautiful biography of such an amazing, inspirational author!

I loved reading Little People, Big Dreams J.R.R.Tolkien. If you haven't discovered this series yet then it's a must. A wonderful, concise insight into the lives of famous people. I particularly loved the rich colours Aaron uses in book as it very much feels right against the richness of Tolkien's world. It gave me some lovely nostalgic memories of when I fell hard in love with books thanks to Tolkien.

This was adorable, and I learned so much from it! I had no idea that JRR Tolkien was South African. I also had no idea about his interest in language, though it makes sense with how prominent language is in his books. What a fun book about a great author!

Yet another great book in a fantastic series - I honestly can't fault them at all.
Although I am not a fan of The Lord of The Rings, I loved learning about the person behind them, and learnt so much.
Not only is the book written in an easy to under stand way, the illustrations are pretty and eye-catching too.

I just love The Little People, Big Dreams Series. This book is about J.R.R. Tolkien known all over the world for his Modern Fantasy books, the most famous being The Lord of the Rings Trilogy. These books are fantastic for children, especially someone with an imagination like J.R.R. Tolkien. It is so inspiring for a child to read a book that may describe the way s/he thinks and feels. Many children already grew up knowing about him and as adults went on to write their own Imaginative Fantasy Books. New children are going to grow up now and change the world by creating more wonderful books.

So, I already suggest these books to my library and to our schools. Having this book available is a great asset for children everywhere.

Beyond children though, I love reading these as an adult. I always learn things about a person I did not know before. J.R.R. Tolkien was born in South Africa. He had a twin brother who died. He moved at just 3 to England, after his father dies. His mother always read to him and sparked his imagination and love of books. Sadly, she died when he was a child. He went to live at King Edward’s School and found three special friends who also loved books, poems, and stories. They invented a Secret Society and J.R.R. Tolkien continued to make up secret languages. I never knew any of this. So, fascinating.

I really enjoyed reading about such a creative and imaginative child who as an adult becomes famous since everyone loves his books. So, he always got to Enjoy The Journey of Living Life.

Thank you, NetGalley, Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara, and Frances Lincoln Children’s Book for a copy of this book. I am happy to have a chance to read and review it.

Another fantastic book to join a fantastic series.
The illustrations and colour tones in this book are outstanding.
The front cover is a wonderful insight into the book and I adore that little J.R.R Tolkien is looking through the ring and leaning on the books.

We live very close to Hobbiton in New Zealand, have been to many events and I still learnt something more about J.R.R Tolkien's life.
I read this book to my two children (7yrs and 4yrs) and they were captivated by the illustrations. The 7yr old pointed out the adults 'eyebrows' but I found I didn't mind it, it was actually a rather clever little addition to the book.

Can't wait to add this to our collection.
